JCPenney Optical

My review is about the sales ladies at this location. They deserve a medal of bravery after an incident I witnessed a couple of months ago. I was buying a pair of glasses here because they had a weekend promotion and they had a pair I really liked on sale. I just wanted to buy the glasses frames and then take them to Costco to fill the prescription. I was waiting patiently for my turn while this really crazy lady (potential customer) is verbally abusing one of the sales girls. Before this lady had her turn, she came to me and started telling me how I’m too old for the frames I selected, and that I shouldn’t buy anything here, that she just comes here to get prices. Anyways, when she got her turn, she was yelling and insulting the poor girl continuously, telling her she didn’t know how to do her job correctly, to write everything down on paper for her, and this went on for about 20 minutes in front of me. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore and had to chime in and told this lady that she just finished telling me she wasn’t going to buy anything anyway, and she had no right to treat her that way. She then asked the sales girls to call security, that she felt threatened by me! («What Would You Do» is one of my favorite shows, and I felt I had a duty to defend this poor girl being verbally abused). Anyways, I put the glasses down and left to do shopping in the store. An hour later I came back, and she was still there harrassing the poor girl! I went back the next day to commend the salesgirl. I told her I would have quit before taking that type of abuse. I then found out that this lady goes to all the local optical stores and does the same thing. She complains in order to get free merchandise. The stores know her but they have a policy of just being nice to her anyways. Back to the sales girl, a young sweet girl who kept smiling at me and thanked me the next day for my support. JCPenney, your optical staff is fantastic!

My first time trying JCPENNEY for eye exam & glasses. They were running a great special for 50% eyeglasses & exam. They are always running similar specials. The Optician was very nice and the tech was helpful with picking some frames. So for exam, frames, and lenses with anti-​glare & transitions, I was out of there for $ 300.00 & some change. Very good for all that I ordered. My glasses took about a week, they came in earlier than they had quoted me, which was awesome! I will recommend them to all my friends and family… They have a big selection of frames too! Located inside the Northridge mall, second floor.
