I met Judy(master trainer @ JAB Fitness) in 2009, had my first workout on a Friday… 5 dedicated years later, 4 – 5 times a week. Up 25lbs pure muscle, 5−7% body fat, 168lbs. This place is a family owned personal training facility with 3 trainers — Judy(the alpha female tough love ass kicker who’s secretly a big softy), her husband Frank,(the funny, more easygoing counterpart of the duo), and Justin, her Son(not sure how to stereotype him because I haven’t seen him in action). The good thing about this place is that they respect eachother and mesh well with one another because they happen to be members of a well functioning family… I used to train with Judy one on one while her husband led mini bootcamp workouts with small groups… Judy is very cut throat. She knows what’s going to get your ass in shape and she’s going to have you do it whether you like it or not. She def doesn’t use a «spa voice» and she does raise her voice. That’s not to say that she’s mean, but if you want a personal trainer, that’s going to be very soft, and maleable a little less demanding then you might want to go with her son or husband. But if you like a challenge, aren’t a man with weird sexist power issues, and won’t take offense from her demanding voice than she’ll pretty much rock your world :) Now, because I’m honest, and I don’t Unilocal to kiss ass. I also have to write about the cons(well one con lol). I started training in the early summer months… and discontinued in the peak of summer because the facility isn’t air-conditioned. To some people this may not even be an issue, but for people like me, who insist on working out in the cold… it’s something to def keep in mind.
