Hair By Marina @ Le Salon Complet

Way long over due review. This is my first ever Unilocal review and and I couldn’t think of anybody more worthy! I have been a loyal client since 2003. I’ve never been disappointed by any color or cut by Marina. Even though I’ve moved to south Pasadena I still drive all the way to Northridge because I trust her completely. I rarely have time to keep up with styles and she knows what will look good on my face so I never have to worry a cut coming out less than gorgeous! I’ve always been low maintenance with my hair but need to be even more so now with a new baby and Marina knows exactly what to do. In terms of coloring, she’s the master! I haven’t had any color for the last 18 months due to the new baby. I went in today to get balayage and am ecstatic with the results! I luuuuuv Marina!!!

Marina is awesome! I have never dyed my hair before so I was very nervous about it. Marina knew exactly what I wanted and talked me though the whole process of what she was going to do. She was a very nice lady and my hair came out great! I would definitely go back to her.

Love marina! This is only my second time with her, but now I know I’m not going anywhere else! I went somewhere else to get my hair done and it looked horrible. I called her and she was able to fix me up the same day I called. She’s a sweetheart and is so talented. I’m never going anywhere else! She is an angel and a life saver.

I found Marina on Unilocal.I was very nervous because I left my hair stylist after 17 years! As soon as I met her, her very sweet personality and disposition put me at ease. I explained what I wanted and she began doing her magic. In two hours, I went from lifeless, dull hair to beautiful, alive, vivacious hair. She knows what she’s doing. Marina has the magic touch when it come
s to cutting hair. I have long, thick hair and never trusted anyone but my uncle to cut an color it but he passed away. I found Marina, she’s my Hairstylist Angel, love, love, love my haircuts!

I must say my hair is my EVERYTHING. so when it comes to trusting someone else with it, I do my research! Marina is amazing. She listens to what you want! She used great products and even taught me how i could style my hair on my own. My hair looks wonderful! She takes her time and pays attention to detail so your color comes out amazing. My hair is so thick and frizzy! But she gave me an amazing layered cut and amazing color. I recommend her 100%

Let me start by saying that I would give Marina 10 stars if it were possible, she clearly cares a great deal about the work that she does. I was looking for full highlights and color and it was at a loss for which salon I should go to because I am one of those people who is extremely picky about my hair. I looked online and then on Unilocal and I found Hair by Marina at Le salon Complete, awesome reviews, and even a free blow-​dry with your service. I placed my bet on Marina. Winner!
Since I have a lot of hair, she spent her time coloring my hair — I could tell she really wanted my hair to come out awesome! Her attention to detail is so skilled and she does it all with a smile. While my color was developing she checked on me countless times making sure I was comfortable. She went above and beyond ensuring that my final result was exactly what I envisioned.
One of the best experience I’ve had at a salon.
I highly recommend her and will be back for sure.

I’ve been going to Marina for 10 years! She always cuts my hair perfectly every time. I used to have long, fine hair with volume. I recently cut it shoulder length and colored it for the first time. Marina made me feel completely calm, and her energy made me excited! She not only cut my hair to the perfect length, but the color she created was beautiful. I just wanted one brunette color. I showed her a photo and she combined two colors that created the perfect color. I LOVE the color and always love seeing Marina! She’s the only hair stylist I’ll ever see!

I came in for a new different color and cut with Marina, and again I never leave her station disappointed. She truly serves you of what you ask for, but with me I can always compromise. Her idea and her knowledge of hair and color she always know what’s matches and what’s not. I pretty much make her decide what works for me since she is knowledgeable of what she does, and she’s very good at it. I pretty much trust her work and as it is, she’s always a perfectionist.
If you don’t have any idea of what to do with your hair, or you want your hair the same as the picture that you like, she will work on your hair and do it even better as the picture that you like. (Because I found mine on the picture and Marina Delivers)

I had a wonderful experience with Marina. It was my first time dying my hair, so I was scared about how it would turn out. She made me feel comfortable and reassured me that we can always fix anything I didn’t like. Anyways, I ended up loving the end result and nothing needed to be changed. She sees a vision and goes for it and it ended up turning out amazing

I decided to give Marina a shot considering all the great reviews here on Unilocal.I had box dye black hair and everyone I would go to would give me an estimate of $ 200+. Marina, however, was very affordable and did a beautiful job. I got a golden balayage which blends in nicely with my natural hair color and a haircut which definitely made my thin hair look full. I left the salon very satisfied. She is truly a professional at what she does. I definitely will recommend her to everyone in need of a hair stylist.

I went to Marina a few weeks ago for just a cut. Her reviews were great, and I got a really fast appointment and was quite happy.
Note: a week prior to my appt, I used box dye to color my hair. Terrible, I know, but certain circumstances made it impossible for me to be in a stylist chair for 2 hours and I needed to save a little money.
Anyway, I arrived at the salon and she called me by the wrong name when she came to get me. She did not sit my in her chair to look at my hair and discuss what we were doing with the cut. We went straight to the shampoo where she berated me on using box dye. I told her I really don’t normally do that, and really didn’t care right then about the color… it’s just brown. She said «maybe you can’t see how bad it is. I’ll take a picture of it and show you.» WTF?! She said there were black streaks all in my hair, which there totally aren’t. It’s just plain, one color, brown.
I was clearly offended, and she finished her shampoo and we went back to her chair.
There was someone else’s hair all over the floor of her station. No where to hang my bag, so I put my bag in someone else’s hair on the floor. Gross.
I asked her to trim the dead ends and made the mistake of saying maybe just about 2 inches and trim up the layers as well. She instead cut 3+ inches and basically just feathered my ends and didn’t keep any layers.
She asked if I wanted it blow dried, which I said yes, not realizing this costs an extra $ 15. She dried it and curled it with an old school metal curling iron instead of one of those new wands. Those curls fall out in about 20 minutes so it totally wasn’t worth the $ 15. As she was curling, she was pulling on my hair as well, trying to straighten and curl all at once. ouch!
She is cash only and you can’t pay at the salon’s reception area. I am one of those people living in 2015 that doesn’t ever carry cash so I had to walk across the parking lot with a knee injury, pay $ 3.00 at another bank’s atm, walk back, and beg for change so I could give her the money and leave. She was already shampooing someone else, so fortunately another stylist was able to make change.
My mistakes were:
1) not bringing a photo of what type of hair I wanted. However, I just needed a trim and didn’t think it would be that hard.
2) not asking if she was cash only prior to coming to the appt, but I assume at a salon you can pay with credit card.
I re-​read her reviews when I got home, and they all talk about her skills as a colorist. If she wasn’t so rude about how terrible my hair color was, I might have gone back to her for color the next time I need it. But I’ll be looking for someone new again.
Sorry, Marina. I thought for a long time about writing this review, but just had a really bad experience with you and still dislike my hair even though it’s had a few weeks to grow out.

great balayage!!!

Today I had my hair professionally dyed for the first time. Since summer is coming up, I wanted to do balayage. I found Marina on Unilocal and gave her a quick text. She replied really quickly and was able to tell me if the results I wanted would be possible. I have really dark brown hair (almost black) and thought I would have to lighten my entire base before balayaging, but Marina said it wasn’t necessary. I was happy to hear this because that meant saving extra money! She gave me a price and I got my appointment within a couple of days.
Marina is really sweet and definitely listens to you. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she made it pretty identical! She cut my thin hair so that I could have more volume and styled it very nicely. I am so happy with my new hair! If you’re looking for a hair stylist, shoot Marina a text!

One word. AMAZING.
I’ve been looking for a salon who did balayage in the valley for an affordable price. I called, messaged, emailed more then 10 places and Marina was the last one I found. As soon as I messaged her business I had a respond after 5 minutes. I spoke to her through text and she asked me what i wanted and gave me a price. I booked my day and changed it a couple of times (thank you for working with me through that Marina!) and boom! I ended up at Le Salon Complet on a Thursday afternoon.
I showed her what I wanted and told me my options and everything fell into place. Marina is very open and wants to hear what you want. She layered my hair all around and made my hair look as natural and healthier looking with balayage. And what can I say. I am in LOVE with my hair.
If you’re ever in the valley & want to treat yourself with a hair make over, Marina is the one you most definitely go too :)
