I stayed here for a ladies’ weekend with two of my best friends. We were there during mid January and it was wonderful! The accommodations were great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was really quiet but the resort had plenty for us to do. The trails were great and the view from the summit was spectacular. We didn’t get to partake in all of the available amenities(bowling, game tables, fitness center, etc) so we plan to come back soon.

When I booked a cabin at Point Lookout, I was a bit hesitant to believe what I imagined this resort would look like. Images and portrayals on the Internet can be deceiving, so I was prepared to be underwhelmed. This turned out to be the furthest from the truth. As we entered the resort, I was first impressed by how much ground it covered. The place has so much, I expected to see a lot close together. Not the case — driving in felt like we were coming in to a national park, not a local resort. Sprawling forest over hills and well-kept grounds where the forest gave way, this place has a natural and welcoming feel like no resort I had ever visited. Our«cabin» as also a pleasant surprise. I expected a somewhat rustic structure, but the cabins are a natural in appearance and feel, but with the comforts and size that was more than expected. We enjoyed walks in the woods and a fire outside the cabin, and while this was only a one-night stay I wish we would’ve planned to stay longer. The hike down to Knight’s Pond is highly recommended, and the trails are more extensive than we had a chance to explore. A great location and an outstanding resort. This area has so much to offer, and Point Resort provides a great home base, but with so much to do there on grounds its a sure bet for any stay. Highly recommended.

This is a review of the fitness center, which is open to the public. While staying at another property in the area, during winter, I sought a place to have a good workout. There are not many gyms serving this area and none of the national franchises. Free parking is in a private lot in front of the building. Follow the signs up the very long driveway. The staff are both friendly and professional. The fitness center is equipped with racquetball courts, a large multi-purpose gymnasium(hosting an indoor event of some kind on the day I visited), cardio machines, a full host of circuit machines and a nice selection of free weights. The men’s locker room has slim individual metal lockers and six showers. Bring your own lock. Towel service was included in the $ 10 day pass fee. Lockers are on the first level across from the racquetball courts. The workout equipment is on the second floor. The cardio machines vary in quality and age. While the stationary bicycles are ‘well loved’ a few of the treadmills are state of the art and much newer. Magazine racks and cup holders would be welcome additions to the stationary bicycles. There are a few TVs across the front wall of the cardio area and a nice water view. The free weight racks included dumb bells up to 100 lbs. There are also adjustable incline benches, etc. The circuit training /nautilus style machine selection is extensive and occupies much of the floor space. Getting a good cardio or strength workout should be no problem and, whatever you’re into, it probably will not require a compromise in your regular routine. The showers were clean and had plenty of hot water. The entire facility was clean. I would not hesitate to work out here again the next time I’m in the area.

Stayed here over the 4th of July and it was lovely! We stayed in 2 bedroom cabin, each having its own A\C and bathroom with shower. The kitchen was stocked with dish/cookware, but if you need anything else, a call to reception will fix that. Grills and firepits are available to rent for 24hr. periods if you’d like them. Onsite, the resort has a café that serves breakfast and lunch, along with a professional soccer field we saw being used for scrimmages, yoga, «air golf»(which we didn’t get a chance to try), and is also a great spot for late night stargazing. And if you’re like me and horror movies have left you wary of wandering away from your cabin after dark, security(and maintenance in the day) make consistent, but inconspicuous rounds. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the hiking trails, one of which leads to a freshwater pond to swim in that doesn’t get more than 5 feet deep until you’re a little way out. It is also accessible by car, and dogs were welcome, but that probably comes down to who you have for company. Staying at the resort also gives you access to the private beach across the road, which was great for sunbathing, even if the water is chilly. The town of Camden is a quick 15 min drive away to cute shops & delicious seafood. I honesty wish our trip had been longer so we could’ve explored everything. The town’s 4th celebrations and fireworks display were really nice as well(made better by a local who suggested we grab dinner at a restaurant with a waterview for a guaranteed vantage). My complaint is that there should be more options for food onsite later in the day, as the café closes at 3pm. You’ll have to hop in a car if you forget to stock up on dinner supplies or snacks.
