I had the Amber. My wife had the cherry soda on tap. Both were delicious and the service was good.

This is a fun place with great service. I didn’t have beer, but did try their house made cherry soda. It’s light, tart, crisp… So delicious! I ordered smoked tomato spread and it came out with a huge basket of pita chips. I recommend stopping by here if you are near Northport.

Pretty busy place. Nice service staff. The beer was just ok though. They had a good variety of beers on tap however they were weak in flavor almost had a watery flavor going on. They do offer free popcorn though.

Excellent beer, great bartenders and a lovely beer garden with a big out door fireplace. Brewing capacity is limited so some beers might not be available but there’s always something brewing.

Beer snobs as we are, we had to try this place out while in town. We went on the first day of them being open(for the season?), and they had a band playing outside. The weather was great, people were aplenty, and the beer was flowing. Prices were good, and decora was nice. We ordered a couple drinks and headed outside to enjoy the music. Beers were decent, nothing out of this world. Sour porter was a little different, but not in a great way. Live band needed a LOT of work, it seemed like this was their first gig together. Singer had great potential though. I would return, but just because I love beer.

Super friendly! The owner let us try just about everything for free. The beers were good, but I’m a huge IPA fan and they didn’t have any IPA on tap. Luckily, there were a few bottles of black IPA they scrounged up. There was a Polish plate that everyone went crazy over. I’m polish so we thought we better get in on the action. Luckily we did. Best sauerkraut ever! The afternoon was cool and rainy, but the food and atmosphere were cozy. Just wish they had more IPA. Looks like other than that they are doing things right… outdoor space looked nice and the bar is modern and appealing. Will try again, but will call first to see what’s on tap.

Great brews. Great time. Great food. Great owners. Highly recommended. Had the assortment of IPAs and brews with great food. The Leelanau summer shandy was fantastic. One of the owners Scott was very hospitable and knowledgeable in the micro brew arena. If your in town or in Traverse City its worth discovering this Northport Gem.

Sorry, not impressed at all. I see all the other reviews and think wow! It must have been a bad night then. I have never left a bad review but here’s the details, make your mind up. I haven’t been away from the 6 kids in 15 years with just wife and me for 4 whole day until this trip! So we did it, 4 days slone! Who cares what the costs are, just have fun, eat and drink wherever our hearts take us. We camped north in the state park and wandered into this cute town to check out the brewery. This was Tuesday 7−14−15. There was a fundraiser going on for something. We walked in and stood at the bar for about 10 minutes. The lady who worked there was having a personal conversation with some guy and watched us just stand there waiting to order a good quality home brew. I wondered if we looked like we didn’t belong or something, beach gear! She made eye contact with me a few times and I smiled eagerly as if to say«hi can I order some?» I never was greeted, no one seemed to care that we were there. We ended up looking at the paper listing the brews for a few minutes longer while we stood there and then we left. We went to a place called«the Garage» on the recommendation of the cashier at the local grocery store after him hearing our pretty bad experience. «The Garage«was down the street, small restaurant and bar. The owners brother greeted us and we had an amazing experience. We are such easy people, smile everywhere we go, tip really well, just want the little bit of time we have together to be as good as possible. I will be back to give them one more chance, but that’s only after reading all of the positive reviews on here. The fundraiser going on was some type of karaōke outside but it wasn’t busy. Just a «hi we will be right with you» would’ve kept me there. To feel invisible for 10 minutes… not cool! Oh well, we would’ve never discovered The Garage if this wouldn’t have hsppened so it wasn’t a total loss.

OK, let me start by saying that I go to a LOT of breweries. As of this writing I’m at well over 125 and counting with about 120 of those being Michigan breweries. I can say, unwaveringly, that Northport Brewing is making a sound approach into First Place territory. First, the beer is phenomenal! There were 10 beers on tap during our visit and, naturally, we ordered all of them(this took 3 flights, but since each flight consists of 4 beers, we got an extra pour of two favorites). Much to our amazement, almost EVERY beer was great, not just passable, or even good, but GREAT(I will say the Nitro Northern Queen Stout was perhaps just shy of great, especially for being a nitro tap, but was still very, VERY good). My two favorites were the Nonny Belgian Pale which had a fantastically strong banana like flavor(typical of Belgians in addition to clove) and was super smooth, and the Fox Island Common which claims to taste like a Kentucky Bourbon, but(to me) tasted EXACTLY like a Glen Livet(Scotch, but still in the Whiskey family) that had all the booziness removed and mellowed over ice. FANTASTIC!!! My wife’s favorite was the Pyramid Point Porter, although I thought it had an almost fruity, peppery flavor, which was good, but not Porter like. Even the IPAs were good, and I tend to hate IPAs for the excessive and unnecessary amount of hops. these were smooth and likely had IBUs under 40(sorry, hop addicts!). the Black IPA almost tasted like it had a coffee stout mixed in. Yummy. Anyway, the atmosphere was great, also. The building is open to the outdoor patio area which is beautiful and super relaxing and was fairly full with a mix of families, couples and small groups of friends having quiet, pleasant conversations. The only drawback is that being in a resort town that attracts wealthier vacationers, you may encounter the kind of people that happened to be seated behind us. You know the type: The super-douchey trust-fund children of Buffy and Chaz. The bratty twenty-somethings that have verbal diarrhea and can’t utter a sentence that doesn’t involve how much money they have or how cool they(think) they are. One member of the quartet of nouveau-riche numbskulls behind us interjected an F-bomb every other word(so cutting edge!) even though there were several children within ear shot. Proof that cash =/= class. The employees, however, were all super friendly, accommodating, and helpful as well. They were pretty busy, but never seemed stressed or snappy. If you’re hungry, they do have a small selection of snack type foods like pretzels and dips. We got the pretzel with beer cheese(its made with the Morazan Amber). The pretzel looked great, but turned out to be very dry, which made sense when we saw that they hang in one of those rotating pretzel warmers. The beer cheese was OK, but not really anything amazing. The food highlight was the food truck(Earth, Wind, & Fryer) that is sort of a permanent fixture on the patio. The menu is impressive not in size, but in content. I don’t want to hijack this review with my ravings about Earth, Wind, & Fryer so be sure to check out my review of them, too! I can’t say enough good things about this place. It IS a heck of a hike to the tip of the peninsula, but GO! If you’re a beer hound you can break up the trip with a stop at Hop Lot in Suttons Bay, but don’t fill up or YOUWILLREGRETIT! Northport Brewing gets my official Seal of Approval and a hearty two thumbs up!

Excellent selection of beers with great flavor. Great outdoor seating and being close to the Lakeshore make it a beautiful spot to enjoy a beer. The Fox Island Common and The Scottish Hero are fantastic!

I had heard very good things and the reality is even better. Come here and drink the Tennis The Menace IPA! The Peterson Park Pale is bright and extremely well balanced. The Black IPA Is an experience that has to be a part of your stop. The Cathead Bay IPA Is just a smooth sipper. Locally grown ingredients and just such a knowledge base behind the bar! Make sure you stop here and soak in the goodness!

Excellent small town brewery with the best outdoor patio in the area. The patio has great seating and a beautiful outdoor fire place which is the greatest feature on the patio. It’s pretty easy to get comfortable and pull up a chair by the fireplace. They also bring in different food trucks on the weekends so you can not only grab a brew but you can have a bite to eat !

Friendly staff, excellent beer. We enjoyed a flight and several pints on their patio next to the wood burning fireplace. The Wit and Saison were delicious, we took two growlers to go. Definitely recommend to others, this is home town brewing at it’s finest.

I thought this Brewhouse was really great! it was very laid-back and the bartenders were very helpful in letting you taste test which you like or better yet just choose the flight so that you could get a taste of four. It was only $ 6 for a flight so pace yourself! I was able to come in at the grand opening and experience a great community really supporting this new company. There was a barbecue and music that rounded up that local feel. i was so impressed by the logo design of the brewhouse that i snagged a pint glass with it as a souvenir! I enjoyed my time eating and drinking at this brewhouse and will forever remember your assortment of stouts! They were my personal favorites :] Until next time Northport Brewing! when i can make it out to Michigan again! or if you ever start distributing or shipping to California! :)

It was great to find this litte brew pub in Northport. Verty nice indoor/outdoor spot with some tasty beers. One thing I liked the most was that our flight of beer my wife and I tried were tasty and the best part… only 6 $. Compared to a more populary spot in Traverse City where we paid 18 – 20 for a flight. Will definately be back.
