Very good shrimp rolls. Cheap lunch. Eating here 42 yrs. This place is not fancy but ok. It used to be a Kentucky fried chicken 20 years ago but location was not good. Place needs a makeover but it’s not gonna happen.

I live right down the block from Happy Wok and have gotten take out and delivery many times. The food is very inconsistent and when ordering the same meal it can taste totally different depending on which day of the week you order. The name Happy Wok is a misnomer because it should be called miserable wok. When you walk in the door the woman behind the counter looks at you with a nasty angry glare and just barely acknowledges your presence. They really know nothing about customer service

This is our second time here. Very happy… our selections were fresh, it was very tasty and very reasonably priced. Some people wrote unhappy wok. I disagree. while the girl today was no chatty cathy… she was very very nice professional and quick with our order… finally…our go to honey let’s stay in and order Chinese food while we relax at home…

We had to wait another 20 – 25 minutes once we got in the restaurant after getting there 15 minutes after we ordered because they messed up a part of the order. The boneless spare ribs were on point after it was fixed though. General tso chicken was pretty good, nothing crazy. I’ll be going back as it’s right down the street from my house and was a solid Chinese meal.

Happy Wok certainly isn’t the best Chinese food in Northport, but they do have their strong points. They have a wide selection of sushi and entrees and have it ready relatively quickly. I like their orange chicken and their sesame chicken, and dabble in their California rolls and cucumber rolls from time to time. Their steamed vegetable dumplings are fine as well, but quite simply there are better versions of all of these around town. Their crab rangoons were strange in texture and lacked crisp, probably the worst ones in the area. Happy Wok is fine for a quick pick me up, but if you’re looking for something substantial, it’s best to shop elsewhere. The staff at times can be very brusque for no discernible reason given that they’re hardly busy, and their sushi combo menu is very confusing and always leaves me bewildered. So that’s the bottom line. If you need something quick to fill the Chinese cravings, Happy Wok will do just fine, but I guarantee you won’t make it a regular stop.

Not sure how this place is still in business. I ate here twice, both times were a disaster. The first time, I had huge veins in my chicken. Veins, with an «s». It was absolutely disgusting. My family had liked their meals, so they wanted to go again. This time, it was hair in my food. Have lived within 2 minutes of this place since they opened here over 15 years ago, haven’t been back since.

The quantity was substantial. For $ 5.60(after tax), my lunch combo included curry chicken with pork fried rice piled high and a side of soup(or soda if you choose). That may be due to the fact that there was a whole medium onion in the curry chicken. The restaurant was really hot; I was sweating while I was eating. I had to take my food and go eat outside.

Known amongst my friends also as «crappy wok.» They also offer sushi here which I would suggest getting from a sushi place where it’s much fresher than here. The chinese is good, I usually get the sesame chicken and ask for it not spicy, a seemingly hard task as 70% of the time I still get it spicy no matter how many times I mention I don’t want it that way. Lunch specials are cheap and plentiful.

The Chinese food is decent. We prefer the hot ‘n’ sour soup over the wonton… as the wonton dumplings are generally hard & chewy. Chicken & broccoli is good. It’s a good neighborhood take out place… even sushi is decent, most of the time. I just with the people who worked there were a little nicer. They seem very indifferent … & as a «neighborhood place», it would be nice to ‘recognize’ your repeat customers. Just my opinion!

I usually order sushi from this place once a week. I love there spicy tuna roll and Philadelphia rolls. Great for pick up but not much of a restaurant.

I definitely agree with Peter. The first review seems incorrect, as there is no sushi bar, and Happy Wok is a small takeout Chinese restaurant with a few tables. Chinese food is OK here, nothing spectacular, but it’s close by home and they are quick and friendly.

I stopped into this place while myself and my coworker were driving home from a long day at the office. We walked in and were greeted by what seemed to be a nice, pleasant Chinese woman, but we soon found out otherwise. We were seated at a table close to the window, and when we asked to move, the nice woman suddenly became a mean dragon and stood in front of us like a samurai shouting NO! When we asked why she said very crowded, meanwhile there was only one other table full. So while we were sitting at the window seat, which was very cold the waiter came over, who spoke no english whatsoever asked us for our order but when we gave it to him in English he did not understand. So my coworker who is Korean ordered in Korean and it seemed to work, I have no idea I no speak Korean. The food came and it was horrible. The General Tso’s chicken was very chewy and disgusting. The rice was overcooked and burnt and the broccoli was hard. When I tried to send my food back the waiter told me it was not possible because he claimed I was making this up. Anyway, we paid the bill which wasn’t very expensive and left no tip. Also, sushi bar looked very dirty stay away. Restautant was a nightmare, I would stay away from here no matter what the circumstances.
