This store doesn’t have much of a variety but is fairly clean and well stocked. I was having a hard time finding the ingredients needed for a recipe so I had to go to a different store. I did end up buying some chuck roast here but later found out it was a buck and a half per pound more expensive than the next store I went to. #meatregrets

I stopped here for some groceries on a heavy traffic day. I was pleasantly surprised, they have a lot of sales on their poultry and a bakery inside.

Their produce can be hit or miss as can their prices. On the plus side they let an elotero set up shop inside!

Great local place. Freshest produce in town and by saying that you can tell it’s amazing everywhere else. It has fairly cheap prices wouldn’t say super cheap but for the freshness you get it’s totally worth it.

This place has the best price in meat. you get a lot of meat, chicken pork for the money you pay. The store is clean and the employees are always helpful.

Great guacamole. Great pico de gallo. Fruit and veggies are inexpensive comparatively… if not the freshest options. They have a eat in place… pork is good as is the roasted chickens. A panederia is also in store. For all your Hispanic needs… this is a great place

You don’t want to shop here for items such as sugar, cereal, canned goods, or anything you might find at a cheaper store. I don’t like the fact that they are pricey on items such as cereal, which I can buy for $ 2-$ 3 cheaper at Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club down the street. Their meat department is not bad if your’e not picky and not looking for something too extraordinary. If you love organ meats and tripe(which are better suited for a dog food factory) then you have come to the right place. If you are looking for cage-free chicken or organic cuts of meat, you won’t find those here. This is a good place to find arrachera, or skirt steak in the summer grilling season; but come early and beat the crowds of people ordering anywhere from 10 — 20 lbs. of meat at a time. Their price for skirt steak can go as low as $ 1.99 a lb. in the summer The produce department is o.k. with a nice variety of fruits and vegetables along with fresh herbs and greens, but don’t expect to find organic fruits and veggies here. Their selection can get pricey depending on the season and what the crop has produced. I normally find limes here at 10 x $ 1.20 or even 10 x $ 1.00 and mangos can go as high as $ 2.99 per lb. or $ 7.00 for a case of 12 which is something I would expect to pay at Whole Foods, not at some local grocery store. They have a Mexican bakery(pan dulce) that features some nice cakes, pastries, and cookies, along with Jello molds, flan molds, and Three Milks Cake but never, ever, buy their Rosca de Reyes(Three Kings Bread) it tastes worse than day old bread, it’s terrible. Lucky for us it’s only sold once a year but it tastes as though it was recycled from the year before. Farmer’s sells many, if not primary Hispanic varieties of foods with some of our everyday favorites but of course, much pricier. The deli department is decent if you are looking for some basic sandwich fixings such as ham, bologna, turkey, and a few types of cheeses. For anything more than that variety, try Tony’s Foods in Melrose Park on Mannheim Road. The Farmer’s Deli also has a small selection of hot, ready to go prepared foods such as yellow rice(very, very good), refried beans, and one to three Mexican specialties such as chiles rellenos, or pork in green sauce. Their carnitas are not that great, they are pretty greasy and kind of nasty and their tamales are dry. The also serve roasted chicken that is good if you pick one up early enough, otherwise they sit there all day and tend to dry out. There is also some ready made salsas and guacamole in their dairy case that is not bad at all. They also have a decent variety of Mexican chesses Over all I give Farmer’s three stars because the store is clean, the staff is friendly, they have a nice produce selection and a decent bakery. My only gripe is that they tend to be quite pricey on items that I can find cheaper elsewhere They do accept credit cards but I think they don’t accept Discover or American Express. EBT(Link cards) are also accepted here

It’s not bad, they have a pretty good Bakery with some damn good pan dulce. The meat market is kind of a pain, espicially when its busy but over all its a great place to get some food

To sound like a total pocho: «this place rawks! ITISMOO-WEEBWAY-NO!» Northlake has seen an increase in Mexican population over the years. The result: a badass supermercado. Upon entry, I noticed several of it’s perks right away. It has a decent sized parking lot, a tamale lady selling homemade tamales outside the store, a paleta(ice cream) cart, and last but not least, a clean & organized store. But because I am very impatient, I would hesitate to come here on weekends. Especially if you plan on getting meat from the carniceria. It’s tough to even get by people at times. Though I did not buy a whole lot today, the prices are excellent. Here’s a rundown of what I got: 2 bottles of Mexican coke 32 oz. Powerade 32 oz Coffee Mate creamer Half gallon of Milk Bag of oranges 226oz cans La Costena pickled jalapenos 27 ¾ oz cans El Pato tomato sauce 2 packs El Milagro corn tortillas Chorizo Angel Soft 12 Rolls Total = $ 23.77 Added points for taking credit/debit.
