Three Tarts is our go-to bakery for special treats and birthday cakes — their cakes are as beautiful as they are delicious — so there was no question that we would ask them to make our daughter’s wedding cakes. Our daughter did not want to have a traditional, tiered wedding cake but wanted a selection of different cakes for our guests to choose from. The cake tasting was quite a treat and gave us the opportunity to try a range of flavors — they prepared a very generous selection of cakes for us to try. There was even enough cake to take home and have for dessert the next day. Our daughter and our son-in-law chose banana cake with banana cream and fresh banana filling and chocolate ganache frosting; apple walnut cake with cream cheese frosting; and a yellow cake with fresh strawberry filling and whipped cream frosting. Every cake was perfect. We had the cakes decorated with fresh flowers and they were as lovely as they were yummy. It was a pleasure to work with Three Tarts!

I’m a peanut butter cookie addict. They have the best I have had, probably ever. They are more on the chewy side. Delicious! Also their Sandwiches are great! The line to order and the entrance are right on top of each other though! They should get some velvet ropes so it can become more manageable when it is busy.

i go to shop for the breakfast and sandwiches. pastry looks mouth watering but better out there. love meinl coffee. should hire Austrian baker to go with Austrian coffee. The older staff is sour and condesending. She stands at register collecting money taking orders. no smile. scowl. it is always. youner team is friendlier and engaging. cheer up or go work in the kitchen. lotsa screaming kids and strollers . 2 stars based on service. brought friends they preferred to leave. whatta shame.

Loved the 2÷6÷15 rehearsal dinner cake for our son’s wedding. Chocolate cake and icing were delicious. Delicately decorated and charming. I will gladly order here again.

This place is incredible. I have ordered multiple cakes from here and it is the best cake on the North Shore. The cake is seriously to die for and they always make your custom order cake PERFECTLY. It is also a great place for lunch with great soups and salads, and it’s also a great place to drop by if you are looking for a quick sweet great like a slide of cake, a cookie, scone, or muffin. It’s a little pricey, but it is so worth it.

It is hard to give three tarts a three star review but the bakery is just not consistent. If I was rating on their lunch selections it would be higher. I really enjoy their soups, salads and sandwiches. Some bakery items are good(cookies, etc) and others are outstanding. Ordered a cake recently and it looked beautiful but tasted pretty awful. It was dry and as a friend pointed out /day old & stale. So disappointing. I’ve had other cakes that were absolutely delicious. Not sure what the disconnect is. The service is also an issue. I’ve been ignored on several occasions and never met an enthusiastic and ultra friendly employee. Bottom line — I will go to baker boys for outstanding cupcakes or cookies and bent fork for a cake.

It PAINS me to leave a poor review for three tarts because I used to love them so much! But lately everything has been below the excellent quality I had come to expect from three tarts. My most recent experiences: Birthday cake: I’ve never LOVED the cakes from here(perhaps the ONLY thing that has always missed the mark in my eyes), but I’ve usually found them to be fine/ok/average. Last week we got a birthday cake from here though, and it was downright horrible — fell apart into dry chunks right when I cut into it! Such a disappointment(it was, at least, a beautiful cake)! Cookies: I’ve always gone bonkers for their B&W cookies — my FAVORITE cookies in town(including the city). But I got one today and it was BONEDRY! Clearly(like the cake) not fresh. And it was smaller than they used to be This place used to be the best — great lunch items, wonderful cookies and pastries, and OK Birthday cakes. Now it’s losing its status as #1 in my book. Bring back the good ol’ three tarts please!

Stop by here every week whenever my daughter has her ballet class. The cookies and muffins are great! My daughter loves their grilled cheese sandwich. The staffs here are always friendly!

I frequent this spot for lunch and have had many different sandwiches and soups all of which I have enjoyed. If you don’t see what you want on the menu then you can customize a sandwich. The treats are a nice addition. In particular, I love the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. They seem to hire young people like high school age to work the counter which I find refreshing. Nice people!

A customer brought us the coffee cake and we all love it. I took a look at there website and saw they served lunch. So at work we now call it the«crack house». I have never had anything not amazing, that’s with us going twice a week. Seriously sooo good!

Three Tarts is a solid establishment. Not only have I popped in a few times for a midweek lunch, but I had a wedding cake tasting here. It was very well organized, with plenty of cake. The bakery prepared 2 good sized(maybe 6″ diameter) halves of cake to show off 4 flavors of cake and a handful of fillings and icings! Needless to say, I had plenty to take home on the way out to share with others! For me, the buttercream is way too heavy, so I definitely preferred the whipped cream filling! They can even do an Oreo whipped cream! I also found it creative and refreshing that they offer a lavender cake option.(In the end, we didn’t go with this bakery, since their 4-tier cake didn’t feed enough guests and would then require cutting cakes to serve all the guests we’re expecting at the wedding.) On the café side, I liked the chicken rosemary sandwich, especially the flavored rosemary mayo that accompanies it. DEFINITELY try the lavender scones! Delectable!

The cookies are great and some of the traditional pastries like the scones are very good, but the coffee service needs a lot of work(then again I haven’t found above average espresso anywhere within a half hour drive from here either). If I’m in the vicinity, I’ll on swing by, but I wouldn’t go out of my way. P. S. Free wifi if you can swing a table, this place gets pretty busy. P. P. S. Parking is a major cluster, heads up or get creamed.

Their cakes are beautiful, but they taste really terrible. Maybe the carrot cake is better than the standard white/yellow/chocolate, but this is seriously the worst cake I’ve ever tasted. I’m sorry, Three Tarts. I don’t want to be mean. But your cakes DONOTTASTEGOOD. The cake itself is flavorless and crumbly and dry, and the frosting is WAY too sweet and needs at least some salt. For years my mother insisted on getting cakes from here because they’re so pretty, even if we BEGGED her to get a cake from somewhere else. She finally admitted that they just don’t taste good and are not worth the very high price. I’ve had lunch here, and other baked goods, all of which were fine-to-good. But the cakes, Three Tarts! Get it together! It’s cake! Grocery stores do better. Read your reviews and fix your recipes. I’m sorry if you think this is an artisanal recipe that the«philistines» just don’t «understand,» but for pete’s sake… they are NOTGOOD.

Been coming to this bakery for years. Love it! As a food stylist I often buy their breads for photography. Beautiful. I love the Tina sandwich. Best ever. The soups are ok. The cookies have all been greAt. Tonight I got cupcakes for my daughter birthday and they were dry. Looked beautiful but not moist.

Cute little bakery — their carrot cake with cream cheese frosting is pretty good — decadent, filled with raisins, and the right amount of carrot bits and spices. I also tried their yellow cake with pastry cream, chocolate, strawberry preserves, white cake with chocolate and buttercream(a layered cake) — too sweet for me, but I love cake with preserves in them. The cakes are very moist, well-decorated, and it seems as if a lot of people order cakes to go for special events and occasions. +carrot cake with cream cheese frosting +cake with fruit preserves

Really a cute, clean nice place to sit and have a latte(if you can find a seat before it gets cold). Pastry looked better than it tasted. The cake I had was dry and very expensive. Lots of choices, but that said, lots of other bakeries better tasting too.

As others have already mentioned, I was drawn to this bakery café because it was so cute. I stopped by for dessert after having lunch next door at the Happ Inn. They had a nice, but crowded outside dining area. Again, as others have mentioned, it seemed chaotic. I was the only person in line and it took a while for them to complete my order. While they were working on my order, a line developed behind me and I felt bad. The lady behind me was picking up a cake and she had it, but they didn’t check her out while they made my chai latte because they only had one register open and had started my tab. So, she had to wait and I felt guilty. The chai latte was good, not as sweet as Starbucks which I was thankful for. I also ordered a Red Velvet Cupcake. The cupcake was tiny for the $ 2.50 price tag. Also, it was dry and lacking in flavor. I would go back, I just will remember not to order the cupcakes.

Really want to like this pastry shop. Friendly staff but here we go on the food… Croissant is bready and could use more airiness, flakiness and buttery taste. Hot chocolate was too milky and not chocolaty enough and served luke warm.

CHAOTIC, BUTSO. DARN. ADORABLE! Met a friend here for lunch, and aside from the lady(I think the owner) behind the counter who had no time for newbie’s at this place and«scolded» us for not moving through the line faster, I will be still be back. For those who know me well, I have a hard time with too many menu choices, and this place had a fantastic variety of everything… Yikes! What helped my brain through the ordering process was the fact that each chalkboard menu on the wall was broken down by sandwiches, salads, desserts, and drinks. What we ordered: We opted to share a Grown Up Grilled Cheese and a Jenniper salad with walnuts, cranberries and goat cheese. The salad was yummy and pretty much what I expected. The grilled cheese was meh, even with the grilled onions, and the bread and cheese portion could have been so much more Hefty, Hefty, Hefty instead of Wimpy, Wimpy, Wimpy! For dessert my friend ordered a slice of banana cake – melt-in-your-mouth delicious(frosting a bit sweet though), and I opted for an almond croissant and Julius Meinl vanilla latte. I was told most of the baked goods(including my croissant) were made on-site. It is a bakery after all. Croissant was moist and fresh how I like it, and my vanilla latte was smooth and just right. Special note: they prefer cash unless you spend $ 15 or more. But they made an exception for my $ 11 order. Final round up. Free Internet if you feel like hanging in a sporadically crowded and noisy café(especially at lunch time). Variety menu, serving my favorite Julius Meinl coffee. My suggestion, come here first and foremost for the baked goods and desserts, because you can’t go wrong. Not sure about their made-to-order cakes, but they look gorgeous and look amazing. Great place to end up for a quick bite after a round of shopping. Not great for business or working lunches.

I think I’ve had almost everything on the menu. It’s a great place for coffee, breakfast food(danish/muffins/quiche) or lunch(sandwiches, soups, salads) and has a huge array of desserts(cookies/cakes/whoopie pies/petite fours/tarts). My favorites include the Tuna Nicoise salad, which has a delicious scoop of tuna salad with capers, green beans, onions, olives, tomatoes, and balsamic vinegrette, the roasted veggie sandwich, the chicken artichoke sandwich, the Hummus Salad(it comes with these fantastic seseme crackers), the tomato soup, and the malted chocolate chip cookie. For my cousin’s bridal shower, we ordered all the desserts from here, and they were so tasty and beautiful. Everyone complimented on them. I love Three Tarts!
