Cafe Barjen

Cafeteria fare with restaurant ambience. Food is clean and serviceable, wraps are huge and could be shared. I’ll come back because it’s empty, super warm and cozy. Great quiet place for meetings.

This is the restaurant/​cafeteria in my work building, so they kind of have a monopoly on food, as there aren’t many other restaurants nearby. And they exploit that monopoly, overcharging for pretty much everything. $ 6.79 for a lunch «special»?!? $ 4.79 for breakfast?!? 89 cents for a can of pop?!?
The only thing that saves them is the fact that the food is pretty damned good. The deli delight sandwich is particularly delectable. They serve carrot and celery sticks and orange wedges on the side instead of fries, which is nice for the health-​conscious. The atmosphere is suprisingly quaint for a ‘burbs restaurant. The coffee I often grab in the morning, however, is nothing to write home about. Quite pedestrian indeed. But all in all, not a terrible place to grab lunch.
