I have been in this Great Frame up a number of times since the Vernon Hills store has closed. The people who work here have been exceedingly helpful, professional and just great to deal with. I brought in a print that I broke the glass and try to fix it myself. Long story short, I did a terrible job getting the frame back together and brought it in to get some help. The lady who worked there this afternoon took my picture and put it back together in about 10 mins for NOCHARGE. I have had other things framed at this shop before and worth the drive.

Dropped off a couple projects and said I‘d return in a few hours. I entrusted them to choose the mats colors and they were perfect(I have done this a few times and they always do an amazing job)! Also replaced broken glass on a picture that broke in my move. I love dealing with manager, Cheryl and her team! They are wonderful, helpful and do a great job.

This review is strictly for the whichever gentleman was working there at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014. Rude. I’ve been a repeat costumer not only for my personal projects but very often for my company. I called to ask a question, actually I asked to speak to Cheryl(a woman who works there who is absolutely wonderful), but she wasn’t there today – unfortunately. The man answering the phone asked if he could take a message, and in turn I said, well maybe you can help me, I have a question… he said, «Sigh, Ill have to take your number down and call you back, I am the only person in the store today, and have a shop full of customers» in the rudest, most unprofessional tone possible. I stated I was a customer too and hung up. I thought, ok… fine, you don’t want my business… that is your decision. Honestly I do like the work I’ve gotten done here, and the prices are fair(at times), but if you are going to go to this location make sure one of the wonderfully kind women at this shop are there before you risk dealing with this guy. *Lesson for that gentleman who was working at 10 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 — Halloween: In customer service, watch your tone, act like you want to help the customer, and just simply say, «Id love to help you, unfortunately I’m swamped as I’m the only person in the store, can I please have a number and get back to you?» Tone is everything, tone would equate understanding, and probably even empathy for you being so busy. There’s ways to handle things. Get it together.

I’ve often used The Great Frame Up for help with framing my artwork and photographic prints; previously used the Highland Park and Evanston locations, but recently visited the Northbrook store(next to Prairie Grass) with a problem on a large, 40 year old frame. They were exceedingly kind and fixed my frame, even providing a new hanger, at no charge. I will be back here without a doubt with my next project.
