I get asked at least once every few weeks what the best spa is in the North Shore. I must look so relaxed that people think I’m getting massages all the time… or maybe I look like I need one(likely the latter). I usually tell them to go downtown, but if not to check out Elizabeth Arden even though I have never visited their suburban locations. But today I finally got to check out the Northbrook Elizabeth Arden. This past summer my friends bought me the mother to be spa package for my bday. While I“ve been eyeing the gift certificate for the past 3 months I figured I’d wait until I was super pregnant & uncomfortable to use it. Thank you friends! This past Friday(feel super pregnant & uncomfortable) I realized I had a block of time free(rare for me!) on a Sunday afternoon so I called Elizabeth Arden to see if they could book all my services. The Deerfield location couldn’t accommodate me at the time I needed, but Northbrook fit it all the heavenly services between 1−6pm. The Northbrook location is located with Northbrook Court. While I’ve parked outside it more times than I could count, I’ve never actually visited it. It’s much smaller than the Elizabeth Arden in the city where I visited frequently(mostly for my hair) back in my city gal days. but still very nice & peaceful. It was especially quiet/peaceful on a Sunday afternoon. My pre-natal massage was pretty good. I prefer when they have an actual hole in the table so I can lay on my stomach, but no such luck. It wasn’t the best massage I’ve had, but RJ definitely got the job done of getting rid of(some) of my tension. However, I followed that appointment with a facial with Eleni who amazing. I typically don’t love facials & find it difficult to breathe with all the steam on my face, but if I had the time I’d indulge in regular facials with Eleni. She did an incredible job & my skin feels amazing many hours later. My mani/pedi was also way better than what I’m used to getting at the small nail shop down the street from my house, but also twice the price(when I’m not lucky enough to have a gift certificate). You get what you pay for. My spa package even included lunch, which they brought in from Di Pescara. Even eating a salad by myself on what’s normally a kid crazed Sunday was amazing! With my 3rd kid arriving w/in the month I don’t think there are many spa days in my future(sigh), but when I get so lucky again I wouldn’t hesitate to come back to this Elizabeth Arden.
