Pleasant-ish service(nice but not attentive) in a tidy local spot. Been there a few times… Usually have eggs over easy, home fries, sausage, and toast. Eggs fine, toast fine. Home fries a bit under-browned for my taste, and no discernible seasoning at all. The sausages, I’ll admit, are fantastic; I think they come from the butcher shop next door. Ok if you’re in the area, but not worth seeking out otherwise.

Wanted to give this a try despite the review as we have been local to the area for 3 years. We were instructed to find an open booth in the back. The table we approached had some dirty dishes on it. I started to move them to the edge of the table in an effort to assist the server. She came over and said, «Why did you do that? I can’t even reach way over there?» I explained that I thought she would come around the opposite side to clear the table. She explained(rudely) that they never come out and this is how they did it «way back then.» Sure, but I wasn’t around in the 40s to understand that. We wanted to exit stage right immediately, but stuck it out for another 10 minutes. The server had not yet made it back to our table to even get a drink order. We departed, very disappointed and frustrated. First time that I have ever left a restaurant prior to being served…

Good food, neat retro layout(think Woolworth’s counter) and very inexpensive. Just one point though… somebody needs to learn to cook more than one order at a time. Neat spot for breakfast and excellent service.

Wow… This is the kind of food your mother and grandmother used to serve you… If they didn’t know how to cook. Dropped in for lunch, checked the menu, and saw meatloaf. In a diner setting, that’s an automatic. $ 10 plus tip for two slabs of rubbery, flavorless baked ground beef, instant mashed potatoes(in a diner, instant mashed… Jesus weeps.) Canned gravy, and canned green peas. I mean, I didn’t know they still sold canned peas. Actually, maybe they don’t sell canned peas anymore. Maybe they’re just working off their stock from 1947. With canned peas, who could tell? Maybe the breakfast is okay. Not betting on it.

Sunday morning breakfast and it was not that crowded. I guess that should have told me something. Our server was unfriendly and had a very poor attitude so I was a little annoyed yo begin with. But after waiting a very long time for our breakfast while the people around us, who came in after we did, were being served, I asked why our food had not arrived yet. They said because it was a special order and the grill had to be cleared. I ordered an egg white omelet! My meal came with under cooked fried potatoes and burnt toast. I do not plan to return and would never recommend this place.

New to the area and wanted to try this little place out. The reviews about open seating are true, there was hardly anyone in there and when I saw the menu and the food that came out I wasn’t surprised. Service was great but the portions were small, over priced and the place smelled like a nursing home. From the reviews it looks like something must have happened between 2011 and now I c ertainly wouldnt go back

Tilz is ok. I went there with my daughter and husband a few weeks ago. It was a Saturday so I was surprised that most of the tables were open. They have a ton of seating, nice servers, and the food comes out pretty quickly. The breakfast menu is pretty generic– not a lot specialty items. My favorite item on the menu was the pancake that my daughter got. She is 4 and did not want to share but I stole a bite. Really good: light, fluffy, and large. My husband and I both got the egg, bacon cheese sandwich on a grilled bagel. I had asked for cheddar and they ended up putting american cheese on it(which I am not a fan of)… it was ok. Not bad, not necessarily good but ok. I see a lot of positive review about Tilz. Maybe I went on an off day or maybe the lunch menu is better than the breakfast one but it is not a place I would frequent.

Very good breakfast but what stopped me from given 2 more stars was that apparently I had ordered a big meal for my apparent body type. I was out to breakfast with a guy who I was on a few dates with. The waitress kept asking me if I was Guna be able to finish my meal and that the guy I was with was probably going to finish it which I felt was super rude, she had embarrassed me. My meal came and she said the remark again… A few minutes went but and I finished my meal, trust me i may be skinny but my metabolism is so fast that this food don’t affect me. She came to collect tha plates and told me to my face I don’t believe it that u ate this whole thing, ur guy friend finished this all. I’m not wording it exactly how she said it as this was a couple weeks ago and it’s not exactly fresh in my mind but at tha time it was super rude to base her opinion that tha way I looked meant I wouldn’t eat my meal. I won’t go back

I used to eat here often when I worked in Westborough, but today I took my son in for lunch and I have to tell you I was really disappointed. $ 25 for us to have a burger and a ground sirloin plate that came with INSTANT mashed potatoes. I will say that the people are very nice and the onion rings were really good, but if I’m paying $ 9 for a bunch of hamburg on a plate, it should at least come with real mashed potatoes and gravy that didn’t come out of a can. Plus, the sandwich that I wanted to order(cream cheese & olive) wasn’t available. We won’t be going back.

Not your average greasy spoon diner, because its not greasy! Be forewarned-2 egg omelets… that look like blankets — because they use JUMBO eggs! SO, for the dainty at heart go with the one egg! :-) decent home made hash, really nice pancakes, friendly staff, and although the rug is old and sad and the booths are old and worn, the place is super clean!(a must in my book). Also, if you are a bit large around the waist, sit at the counter — the booths are REALLYTIGHT. They give separate checks for all diners on the table, which is the way they’ve been doing it for 40 years! not the best hash, but its crisp, not from a can and not greasy — just heavy handed on the potatoes and no veggies(onion or peppers in sight) — It almost looks can without the tin flavor… but good nonetheless! pancakes are really nice, try the banana but bring your maple syrup they only have the jemima…

Had lunch here with a friend. Clam chowder had lots of clams, a little too salty for me and more like a soup than a chowder. I had a fish sandwich which was very good and my friend had some club sandwich which was also very good. Service was great and people very friendly.

This will be short and to the point. This is a great place for breakfast. Portions are huge and all very good. The hash is unbelievable. eggs for our whole table were done perfectly. Service is a little slow if you hit the tail end of breakfast and before lunch. But if you aren’t in a hurry, it is all well worth the wait. Pet peeves: booths are tiny, if you have 4 people all the food will not fit on the table with coffee and juice. I hate a breakfast place closed on Sunday. All in all a great place, see you again Tilz

Have you eaten at Tilz yet? We have and we LOVE Tilz for breakfast and lunch. I used to work at a soda fountain when I was 15 and the setup of their kitchen is just like I remember from the soda fountain days. The friendly and excellent chefs cook right in front of you. Everyone knows each other and if you want to meet Bucky Rogers, local famous real estate guy with his name everywhere — this is the place to go. My favorite dish is my comfort food, eggs and toast with hashbrowns and a coffee. HOWEVER, the last time I was in I did see a guy order an amazing omlette that I have to try but it is SOOOO big, I need to bring a friend. You can sit in a booth or at the swirly chairs, like the ones I remember from my days as the teeny bopper soda fountain chef. I love Tilz for the people, the food and for the memories. Thanks Tilz!

Tilz is a classic townie diner in a strip mall off route 20. It is sooo much better than the diners in my town I drive 4 miles to go here instead. * Solid breakfast and lunch place, real comfort food. * Cash only * Counter and booths * 6:30 am — 7:00 pm, closed Sundays * tons of local gossip
