I’ll start off by saying I think they have a great selection of items. Some things seem over priced, especially based on the cleanliness and the way the restaurant presents itself. To me it doesn’t feel professional, it doesn’t feel ‘home-y,’ it just feels like of gross. I really love their burritos and selection of different salsas. However, the real reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because the fajitas I ordered literally took 30+ minutes and were a disgusting, sloppy, soupy mess. Nothing tasted fresh. You can get way better fajitas other places… the fajitas at Chili’s are way better! I really wanted to like this place.

My friend and I were ambling around Northampton earlier today(a lovely day, I might add) in hot pursuit of some Mexican food. After happening upon La Verecruzana, we hungrily over-ordered and anxiously awaited our chicken quesadillas, tostadas, al pastor tacos, papusas and heaping side of guacamole. The cheerful, vibrantly colored restaurant only offers counter service, but I kind of prefer it that way, and it gave me time to lovingly hover over the well appointed salsa bar while waiting for my food. The dishes were all fabulous! And all for $ 30 with bountiful leftovers. Where else can you get a chicken stuffed quesadilla for $ 5?

I just wanted to try this place because it’s a local place and I like to support independently owned places. That being said unfortunately this place is just not very good. I had the Burrito especial and there’s nothing special about it. For $ 11 I expected a lot more. The chicken seemed old no sour cream or tomatoes. It does say that on the board however not very good. Thankfully the salsa is pretty good I drowned my burrito in it. They can keep their free drink I definitely will not be coming back.

Much more authentic Mexican food than Bueno y Saño. I recommend the fish tacos, they’re messy, but delicious.

The food is fresh and very tasty. I would easily recommend this restaurant! Me and my family come here every weekend and it is always good. I get a burrito and every time it is good and if not better then the last time. I also like the Tortas Sandwich. It is very good too. Love this restaurant!

I love La Veracruzana. The food is good and reasonably priced. And while it’s a seat-yourself place, the service at the counter is reasonably friendly and reasonably quick. My favorite things to order are chicken tamales and fish tacos, but all the food is fresh, cooked to order, and pretty delicious. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. Bonus: They have Mexican Coke(a favorite indulgence of mine) and various Mexican beers available.

Why the high score is simple. Place does it simple & fresh & with best ingredients I’ve seen in a deal of time. Ordered fajita & rice & was so impressed with first(steak) had to do a second(chicken). Salsa is great & again fresh & this spot bases it’s cuisine on that from the Mexican state of Veracruz so you get the real deal. Place has Mexican beers & I suspect some spirits so you can get a bit wet.

Alright so as far as burritos in Northampton go, this is probably the best. I am also 100 percent aware that that isn’t saying much. It should be noted that it’s also pretty cheap, if you get the shredded chicken or other non-specialty item, but for reasons unknown to me if you get other items it’s like 5 dollars more. The thing about me and burritos are that I like to get them when I’m on the way somewhere or returning from somewhere or am really hungry. The first time I came here my girlfriend and I ordered at the counter and it seemed there were like five or six people milling around, maybe waiting for food. They were not busy. It was like 8 o’clock at night. Our two chicken burritos took well over 30 minutes. I know for a fact they didn’t have to cook the shredded chicken… so I was mainly just confused as to what took so long. Other people seemed anxious too, and there never really was an explanation. One burrito didn’t have the guacamole we had ordered. So call ahead then pick it up, unless you want to wait there forever. Don’t expect friendly service. Remember there’s a salsa bar! Check your order and try to clarify with the person because every time we’ve gone there there has been something missing… but I go back because I like burritos, and for Western Massachusetts these aren’t half bad.

This is our go-to restaurant after bike riding 85 miles from New Haven. I always get the red snapper and it is deeply gratifying. Try the grilled jalapenos for a thrill. Salsa bar is loaded with options for sides.

As a Latina who just moved here from burritoland(San Diego, CA), this place has been my go-to for quality Mexican food. I don’t get the burritos, only because they don’t wrap them that great, but everything else is phenomenal !!! I always get the potato tequitos with rice and beans. The rice and beans are no joke . Very authentic The salsa bar is great, and they also have got carrots too. The tacos, tamales, and enchiladas are all delicious as well. I’m always very satisfied with my food here! Annnnnd the staff is great! They make you feel welcome. LOVELOVELOVE!

Huge menu with plenty of vegetarian options. The chillis rellenos are unquestionably the best I’ve ever had.

Went here with my girlfriend and her parents. My enchiladas were bland. My girlfriend’s «quesadilla» was a soggy, colorless, sad looking creation that I can only describe as disgusting. My girlfriend’s parents’ food looked tasty(which is why I gave this place more than one star), but I certainly wouldn’t echo anyone’s good review of this place’s Mexican staples. I’d rather go to chipotle(yikes)!

Phenomenal Mexican food, every time I’m in the area I always stop in. The taquitos are especially delicious.

Delicious! I love how authentic the food is and the variety of salsas available. It’s a more laid back place and gets busy during regular dinner hours so don’t be surprised if you have to stand in a bit of a line and wait for your food. I recommend the fish tacos!

We’ve been here a few times with my sister and her family; they are a gluten free household(and several other food allergies), so Mexican is a safe bet and beloved by our niece. One word: guacamole. We always spend a few moments trying to decide while their family orders their usual, favorite dishes, with extra guac. Everything is freshly made and delicious, and they have lots of options. Tacos are always a good choice, but the specials are not to be missed — and prices are great for the portions, too! You order at the counter, then grab an available table. Utensils, water/cups, and house made salsas are self serve on the side, and you should really try all of them if you haven’t because they’re all spectacular. When your order is ready they call your name to pick up at the counter, and then chow down. Our last visit we finally tried the plantains and WOW they are perfect! A really family friendly place to go to in downtown North Hampton.

Super service, very friendly. Had the fish tacos. The tortillas are corn but I don’t believe they are gluten-free. I didn’t ask for a GF version(should have) so I can’t say whether they have one. Fish was breaded – not my preference – but tasty enough. Good cabbage and dressing. Two tacos and a small order of chips will fill you up. Tried the tamarind juice and found it a bit sweet. Friend had horchata and it had a great cinnamon kick to it. Festive atmosphere, salsa bar, casual dining, fast. Good food gets it done. Three stars because I just never get a craving to come back here. I forget it exists. That said, if someone else wants to go, I will. Is that a helpful way to gauge a restaurant?
