Cute place. Old style diner. We have tried it a few times and it has been good. They have good pancake. I do think it’s strange that the ham in the omelette is ground up. It makes the texture weird. When we asked the waitress about it she said it’s always been that way and people love it. So next time we will request it with chunks instead of ground.

This place is absolutely the worst ever. Ask low end quality food. if I could give it a zero, I would. This place could be a great diner but the owners must feel that low end quality food is what people want.

Our food was okay. Nothing fantastic. My refill of iced tea had warm dishwater in it. Which I drank. I would have brought it to the waitresses attention, had she come back to check on us. I just paid the check and left with the taste of soap in my mouth. She was also kind of rude. I have no clue how this place has stayed around for 30 years, but we will not be back.

French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. Regular white bread slices, barely any egg to «french» it. No flavor whatsoever and drowning in butter. Eggs were so wet that I suspect they may not have been cooked all the way and had zero flavor. Bacon was soaked in grease. Doesn’t take much time to press it in paper towels. Boyfriend got shepards pie. No flavor. Plain hamburger, corn and boxed mashed potatoes with grease pooled at the bottom of the bowl. $ 1.88 for a small bowl of gravy on the side. Food is cheap and edible but less than«meh» with absolutely no flavor. Denny’s is a hundred times better which is sad. Waitress brought check before asking if we wanted anything else and very shortly after we got our food.

I love diners and took a U-turn when we passed this place. It was early afternoon and we found a seat easily. Here are the highlights: * The window by our booth was broken. * I expect diners to be worn but shiny. Not so shiny. * Being in a diner, I ordered a milkshake. The waitress returned and said they had no ice cream to make a shake. * Our food was fair to good but nothing special. * The waitress brought us our check without asking us if we wanted coffee or dessert. Maybe she was doing us a favor. I love diners and hoped for more. Maybe it was just a bad day to visit Cindy’s.

Very Disappointed, Asked for homefries well done they were white with a few burnt piece’s of potato in them. Waited until che ck time for a coffee refill. Waitresses were too busy gossiping at the counter amoung them selves to care. Never Again, Do not recommend.

Delicious food, cute 50’s atmosphere, friendly service ! Jessie was adorable, the best waitress! She made recommendations, kept the coffee flowing, made interesting conversation. Try the pumpkin pancakes, side order of apples. Stuffed French toast looked tasty. Omelet was«the best ever». Hidden gem!

Stopped in on a cold NE day. Not my first time here but wanted to finally review them! Ordered an omelet with BAKEDAPPLES as an option on the side. What an amazing option! Omelet was fluffy and no skimping on the fillings. Apples were hot and crisply served. Service was quick with clean tables and clean silverware(pet peeve). Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner and was in need of a light bulb that is a bit higher in wattage. Waitress actually knew the names of the older ladies in the booth next to me and enjoyed listening to her chat up the customers. She had a great disposition and repeatedly offered condiments and coffee refreshers. VERYATTENTIVE service. This place is a great representation of a nice NE Diner. Check it out if in the area or on your way to Foxwoods or Mohegan.

Omelets pancakes and Elvis Cindy’s is an old fashion diner, no doubt about that. It has one of those big gaudy, bright signs, usually with a couple of letters burnt out and a old looking but cool exterior. Once you go through that door it’s like walking into a time portal. I don’t know how long it’s been around, when I asked the waitress she just said forever, but I suspect forever isn’t too far from the truth. Lots of very cool and tacky old things in this diner, from the old looking and funky floor, to the old fashion counter, to the weird pictures hanging all over the place. Probably has looked this way for decades. But as nice as the funky décor is the food is what people come here. Lots of the usually stuff you would expect in a place like this as well as some newer concepts like gluten free items. The prices are ridiculously low for the piles of food you get. This is not a place where you will leave hungry and definitely not a place to find rare delicacies with cute names. If you want some fancy place with trendy and fashionable food that have names that are difficult to pronounce forget this joint. If you want good food at great prices and don’t mind being called honey or sweetie and having the waitress laugh and joke with you will probably love Cindy’s.

I feel sorta bad giving this place anything other than a great review. They’ve been around forever and I have such fond memories from ‘back in the day’. But I feel that to not speak some truths would be a disservice to folks looking to Unilocal for advice on dining at… well, diners. You see, all these«5 star» reviews you see here below. I believe these good folks must be grading based on nostalgia, good-time memories, and past experience(s). We had breakfast at Cindy’s just the other day, and it was not great. It was not real good. It was good. Just ‘good’. Decent eggs, cooked well. Nice ham with the eggs Benedict. Coffee was hot and plentiful.(if a bit weak) However, the home fries were terrible and cold. Just cold bits of unflavored potato, really. My eggs were room-temp bordering on cold. The canned corned-beef hash was not from a very good can. I’d like to think that this was perhaps a fluke, you know; a one off«bad day». But as we take a closer look around to the outdated, tacky décor(even for a roadside diner), the stained menus, the less than spotless tabletops, the lack-luster table service, the Omnipresent Keno paraphernalia… .you get the impression that it is, sadly, what it is.

I’ve always loved this place but hadn’t been in a while. Went today and was thrilled when the waitress asked if I wanted a gluten free bagel when I declined toast with my omelet. So few places offer gluten free options! Food is delicious, service is prompt and the décor is very cute.

Always good to back to where it all began. Well, this is the second diner I ate in when I moved up here to RI. Still just as good as I remember and friendly. If you are in the area, worth dropping into. The prices are very good, the portions are oversized, especially the pancakes. The Corned Beef Hash is fairly well done and the baked goods are homemade. All in all they have a pretty good menu selection.

The food is so unique and at a ridiculous low price. I had pumpkin raisin French toast, it was so yummy. My friend had fish and chips, she fancies herself a fish and chips expert, she says they are some of the best. I didn’t think the fries were some of the best but whatever. There were two ladies there working, one was a little older the other was a young lady. The older one wasn’t waiting on us but she seemed really nice, our young waitress was nice enough, very casual, maybe at some points a little too casual. The other thing I liked about this place was the place is really clean. Thank god I don’t live around here if I did I’d gain a gang of weight.

Stopped into Cindy’s for Father’s Day breakfast(Dad always gets his coffee there) Server was friendly and accommodating in that ‘diner’ sort of way. I debated going with the blueberry pancakes, but ended up settling on Chunky Monkey Pancakes — banana, chocolate chips, and walnuts. Never had walnut in a pancake, but it certainly works. My review of any diner hinges on the quality of the homefries, and unfortunately Cindy’s were not at the very top — a little bit over-seasoned, and a bit less crispy on the outside than i prefer. Nothing wrong with them, but sorry Cindy’s — on the strength of your pancakes you were at 4 stars, but ‘passable’ homefries are just not good enough.

I’ve recently started a new job and part of my new commute is passing Cindy’s everyday. I decided to stop in for dinner on Ash Wednesday figuring that at a diner I could probably get a decent tuna salad sandwich however that’s not what I ended up ordering. Cindy’s had a great Ash Wednesday specials menu including many fish dishes such as fish and chips, fish sandwich and more. About a page full of meat-free dishes. I decided on the fish and chips. It was great! You could tell the fish was fresh and the batter was homemade. It came with a very large portion of very delicious french fries and great coleslaw! The waitresses were very nice and attentive. They seem to know everyone there and even though I wasn’t a regular, I felt as if I was treated as one. I ended up getting a slice of homemade apple pie to go and saved it for later it(it was also really tasty!). I can’t wait to go back and try breakfast!
