I went to this Atomic Salon for about two years, every two weeks. Why would I give a two star rating to a barbershop that I went to for two years, you ask? Good question. First, the good. The barbers are actually very good. I have zero complaints about the quality of haircut and beard trimming I regularly got here. I saw the same barber every time, and he was always meticulous and seemed to take pride in his work. The second best thing about this place(and other Atomic Salon’s) is the price. $ 16 for a haircut and bread trim– I stopped coming here, but have no found a place that delivers the sam quality for this low of a price. (Side note about what some other reviewers have said about wait times: I never once had an issue waiting. I always made an appointment, and never had to wait more than 5 – 10 minutes after my appointment start time before I was in a chair. It’s a small barbershop and the guys here don’t do rush jobs, so make an appointment and you should be fine). Now, the bad: 1) How the employees spoke about other clients. It happened pretty regularly that the barbers would kind of trash talk clients(clients that weren’t in the salon at that time). Making in fun of their hair, their body, etc. It could very well have been all in good fun, and honestly, they could’ve been talking about clients that are friends of theirs, but for me, all I could think was, «If they say that about clients when they aren’t here, what are they saying about me when I leave?» 2) How the employees spoke to each other. Listen, I understand the dynamics and environment of a barbershop. I get that it’s historically/stereotypically a place for guys to hang out and talk about girls, nights out, etc; however, these barbers crossed the line on more than one occasion. The last straw for me(which was the last day I stepped foot in this place) was when the barbers had a good laugh about people living with AIDS. It took everything in me to not get out of my chair mid cut and walk out. Great haircuts, zero professionalism. Not sorry, I will not be back.

I called ahead and was told the last cut was at 6:30 got there at 5:45 and was denied. This was the third time something like his has happened. Don’t go unless you have a confirmed appointment. Place is a joke!

Have been getting my kids hair cut there for about three years now. Last three visits there have not been a pleasurable experience. Wait time has been over an hour to get hair cut. They put there friends in the chair a head of you. They have no respect for there customers. Went in today at 1:30pm, asked how long the wait would be, was told 10 minutes and my son would be next in C’s chair. Waited 45 minutes. Then he called another kid into his chair. I asked what was going on. Was told«this will only take 10 minutes». Waited 10 minutes then left the business. GUYJUSTBEHONESTWITHYOUCUSTOMERS. THEYMAKEYOURPAYCHECK.

Usually when I visit Atomic Salon I expect a clean cut and this location delivers. Even though I was a walk-in client the barber was very nice and had no problem cutting my hair on short notice. He was very accommodating and knew what he was doing and I was in and out in 20 minutes. I would say this place is a 4 star joint because it was a bit messy and the TV’s were a bit dated. The hair-cut prices are average, I slipped the guy a 20 $ which was a 4 $ tip, he deserved the 20%. Whenever I want to cut all my hair off and get a buzz cut I stop by Atomic, don’t come here if you expect a scissor cut or a foot massage. It’s a decent chain salon, better than super-cuts. I am happy with the cut, I will probably be back I just wish they stopped playing those mix-tapes in the background(I hear the N word every 30 seconds lol).
