Family Table Restaurant

I’ve been eating at the FTR for going on 17 yrs now. The service is always excellent and the food while not fancy, is very good, I especially love their grouper fingers! Their desserts are good too=chocolate cake, carrot cake and rice pudding are all good.

Seriously wanted to like this establishment. The food might be a 3, barely. The service we received, nearly a 4, a pleasant experience. But the atmosphere, lack of ventilation, and décor screams ‘snow bird’ material, and not in a good way. Then the coup d’etat, the pricing. 24 dollars for 2 patrons. The menu is absent of any expected breakfast delicacies, no fresh options and zero innovation. No fruit, baked oatmeal, eggs benedict, you get the point.
We will continue our search for the perfect unchained family diner.

My husband and I went for dinner. We were seated right away. Our server was great. He had the bread with him as we were seated and our drinks arrived quickly. We had the ½ fried chicken dinner. The coating didn’t have much flavor. The rest of the meal was good. We will try again.

I fail to understand how this restaurant can achieve such positive reviews on their food. It is mediocre at best. The server recommended the stuffed cabbage. After prior experience here, I figured that was a safe bet. Wrong. It was barely edible, it was so bland I thought I’d slipped into a coma. Overpriced, too. Service was nice, and the décor is decent enough, but the food is truly awful.

Stayed across the street at the budget inn. This place was easy going and a home cooked meal. Not going to blow you away and not going to disappoint. And priced accordingly. Staff was very nice and the décor is beautiful. Only thing I noticed was not the best quality utensils. But the dark cherry wood and nice padded chairs and recessed lighting. I just really liked the classy effort. Grilled Chicken breast dinner came with 2 breast. Veggie medley. Baked potato plain with sour cream cup and butter packets. Salad had good size sliced cucumbers and tomatoes and a chilled bowl. Here is a tip, to boost the flavor of the chicken I asked for the blackened seasoning on my grilled chicken and it turned out perfect! It’s like Cracker Barrel type food. Solid 3 for food and 1 extra for décor and staff!

This is a review only for the karaōke. Don’t bother unless you’re a regular. It’s obviously for the 80+ generation. Not that there is anything necessarily wrong with that, but they should let you know. I called ahead to ask if this was for families and was told yes. The music is at least three generations ago and kids will be bored to tears.

The service was amazing, very great awesome staff. But there’s no flavor .

Chicken, mushrooms everything tasted like it’s coming straight from a can. 95% of the restaurants food it’s all fried.

Decided to give this place a try for breakfast after passing it so many times. Great service first of all, waitress was fun and outgoing, laughing and joking and even when we were her 3^rd or 4^th table I could see she was joking with all of the tables and went out of her way to tell us about the morning specials we just missed this time, I will be back again

Average food for breakfast. My Eggs Benedict yolks were firm, not soft and runny as I am accustomed. The bacon was not Canadian but rather a sugar cured, fried ham. The sauce and American fries were okay but the grits were lumpy at the edges of the bowl indicating to me it had been reheated. Waitress service personality was above average.
My wife rated the Lamb shank average to above average. It comes in a red sauce which was tasty. Little follow up by the wait staff since they were all busy bussing tables and replenishing shakers and sugar from earlier breakfast diners.
The one huge disappointment was when we asked the wait staff for a to-​go cup for my wife’s large diet soda that had not been replenished. They said it would be a quarter. Having just spent $ 32 this seemed pretty ridiculous, especially since the original glass had been ¾ ice. I mentioned it at the cash register to an individual who appeared to be the manager but who wouldn’t make a comment or eye contact yet did wish us a nice day! Since we had been pleasant through the entire meal and been treated pleasantly as well, we took off one star for lack of customer attentiveness and sensitivity.

Always consistently good. VERY clean. On point pricing. Open Christmas day. We’ll be there!

What a friendly place and a great owner! We are from Ohio and stopped on way to airport. Great food. Everyone seemed to know each other and they treated us just as well. I even scored a free dessert!

We had breakfast at the Family Table this morning… it was our first time to eat there. Just a few customers. The hostess was young and a pleasant, and the waitress was just the right amount of attentive.
The interior of the restaurant is clean, although a little dated in the décor. The décor doesn’t matter so much to me if the food and service are good. My only negative comment is that the restaurant seemed dark… more like a dinner atmosphere, but it was breakfast time. It seemed like they have converted to the new light bulbs, which are not as bright as the old ones, and it makes everything darker. Putting back in a few bright bulbs here and there would help a lot. Considering the older clientele, darkness is not a good thing.

So far I’ve only been here for breakfast but it’s my favorite kind of breakfast place! It reminds me of diners back home.
My omelette was great, the home fries were so so but the service was awesome. Definitely one of the better breakfast options around.

Friendliest staff ever. Amazingly clean bathrooms and just a very clean place over all. This is the type of restaurant that takes pride in their work. Always served promptly, food always is hot, and the company is always inviting. Always would go here with my grandpa before he passed and he was a fan as well especially of the prices.
Family Table is the type of place you will find yourself visiting time and time again. Every time I am in town I stop in and am never disappointed. Favorite menu items-​eggplant Parmesan, and biscuits and gravy with some eggs over medium on top.

We had dinner last night at around 5pm. The restaurant is large and at 5, there were a few other tables that were having dinner. I had the chopped sirloin steak with grilled onions; it was huge and came with green beans and I chose the mashed potatoes as my potato dish. Very delicious. The sirloin steak was tasty. My daughter had the kids spaghetti and the plate was huge!
My vegetarian son had the cheese ravioli and it came out piping hot. The cheese ravioli was smothered in a really thick delicious marinara sauce and then it was all covered with melted mozzarella cheese. He really enjoyed his dish and ate it all.
Service was outstanding. There were 7 of us and our waiter was able to keep up with us and was nice and friendly. The kids really enjoyed him. The place is clean and spacious.
Props to a local family restaurant that serves delicious comfort food. Will definitely return.

Quiet on a Friday night! Had the place to ourselves. That’s okay. had 100% of EVERYBODIES attention.

Despite some of the reviews I read here, we really enjoyed this place. We came here Sunday morning for breafast and our server Lulzim was very polite and attentive. Food was delicious and our table was very clean. The place was busy and had a short wait. Best part was the bill! Prices are great!

Old fashioned, bland food, outdated décor, just not good. I would not return. I had the fish sandwich, which was oily and the roll was white and over buttered.

Stopped today about 4:00 for an early dinner on the way home from the movie… As you might expect, not many people in the restaurant at that time. They had a pretty good variety on the Early Bird menu. I had clam strips which were good. The soup was clam chowder… never did find a clam, but my wife said she did. Good flavor and potatoes/​veggies, just no clams.
My wife had the fish fry, which was grouper, and a baked potato. She reported the fish was VERY good.
The waiter was available, not hovering around due to the sparse crowd. That was nice.
Probably would have given the place 3 stars, but found out they baked the bread there and do sell it by the loaf. A good size loaf for 2.50, pretty good deal. And given there are SO FEW decent bakeries around the general area, that was worth the extra star.

Excellent food and service, Very personable staff, clean well keep, beautiful quality furniture tables and booths and décor. In wall vacuum, restaurant keep very clean. Food is reasonable priced and very well prepared. It is a family restaurant top quality.
