This was my first time here. So I had a lot of questions which was happily answered. The service was good and friendly. But the food was not very tasty. The food taste like it was leftover from the day before. Black beans was hard and the refried beans Tasted like it was out of a can. The Salsa tasted like it has paste instead of tomatoes. The meat was dry and without favor, Pork as well as pork chops and steak. You could not unable order a variety of the tacos to see which one you would enjoy so you had to order a complete meal just to taste one taco because they do not sell one taco or a variety taco platter. The prices are high for the quality of food that you received.

I love this place. The salsa is the best out of any restaurant I’ve been to. The owner works as a waiter and therefore is always watch the food and tables.

Made a lunch order for 7 for pickup… Nothing came out as ordered: chicken given instead of requested beef, no salad dressing for salads, no guac, and no sour cream when EXTRA sour cream requested. Who gives Mexican food with NO sour cream?!! To make it the final visit there ever, there was a piece of strong metal in one of the chimichangas that one person almost broke his tooth on! Stay far away!

La Fogata(North Palm Beach) Pretty reasonable prices and good portions. They serve complimentary chips and salsa with your beer and it’s a good spicy salsa. While this restaurant doesn’t necessarily stand out, it is a good value and option if you feel like having MexAmerican(a word that doesn’t exist, but I made up, it’s like Italo-American because of the Americanized version of the food) and are in the area.

La fogata is A favorite! Great margaritas and food! We go often, a few times per week. Ask for Edwin. If you’re looking to just relax at a bar, good relaxed atmosphere too. Food is tasty! Basic tacos are delicious !!

La fogata is some of the best authentic Mexican food! We visit often because it is so great! They have some of the best margaritas in town! On the rocks no salt is how I like it! Ask for Edwin! Top notch service!

Great food and super fast service. We love this place a lot! Husband had churrasco steak and it was juicy and flavorful. I had shredded beef chimichanga. Never a miss. Definitely recommend this.

My experience here can be summed up in one word: underwhelming. It started with poor service, when I called to verify that they were open for lunch, and was given an attitude by the girl who answered and said«uhh…yes…we’re open for lunch…» her tone of voice implying«duh, are you stupid?». I’m not stupid, so the attitude was uncalled for. Many places on Unilocal claim to be open, yet they are not, and considering my friend and I had already run into that earlier that day when trying to get some Jamaican food at Silver Spoon Jamaican Restaurant, I didn’t think it was so unreasonable to be on the safe side and verify. Also, just because someone answers the phone doesn’t mean a restaurant is open, some restaurants only serve dinner, yet there is staff around lunch time preparing for dinner who may answer phone calls. I thought maybe when we arrived, things would improve, but they didn’t. Considering how unfriendly our waitress was, I can only conclude it was the same one that answered the phone. Still, I decided to take the high road and smile and be kind to her, hoping it’d rub off. We were treated to complimentary chips and salsa, which is nice, though mostly standard fare at Mexican joints. The lunch combination prices are very reasonable(under $ 10), but only valid Monday-Friday, and we had come on a Sunday. My friend and I decided to choose a dinner combination, instead. I chose the Enchilada & Chile Relleno Combination Dinner, and he ordered burritos. In the meantime, we asked if we could get extra chips and salsa. No acknowledgment, other than a blank stare from the waitress as she took the salsa and chips basket away and brought it back. We were wondering if that was a yes or no, since we never got a response, so we were relieved when she returned with a refill. When we thanked her, again, no acknowledgment. This also happened when we ordered refills on our drinks. We both felt incredibly unwelcomed and wondered what was going on with the waitress that she was so cold. The food was nothing special, either. For those claiming that this is authentic cuisine, all I can tell you is you need to get out more, and by that, I mean head into Mexican communities where the inhabitants and restaurants are authentically Mexican. This is as authentic as a chain Mexican restaurant like«On the Border,» which is definitely not run by Mexicans. The food was just as boring and insipid, despite pouring almost a quarter of the bottled hot sauce to give it some flavor. It reminded me of the Mexican Hot Pockets you can buy in the frozen aisle. Even Chipotle is more exciting, and that’s saying a lot. The beef in my enchilada had the texture of cat food, and the chile relleno had no cheese in it. At all. It was also fried inside an omelette. I have never seen a chile dipped in egg batter and served in that manner. The rice was dry and hard, and the refried beans had no flavor in them. The salad served with the meal had no dressing, there was no sour cream, guacamole, or anything else to put on it and give it flavor. No oil or vinegar on the table, no cheese, nothing. I ended up pouring salsa from the salsa and chips to give it some flavor and make it edible. I am not a rabbit, and won’t eat plain lettuce with that chemical pre-washed aftertaste that bagged lettuces are known for. To make matters worse, I became incredibly nauseous a few hours after eating lunch, and could not even eat dinner because my lunch did not sit well. It was unpleasant to sit through bumper to bumper traffic on I-95 feeling like I had just gotten off a rollercoaster and needing to use the bathroom desperately. Mediocre food and putrid service… no thanks, there are so many restaurants in Palm Beach that no one should have to put up with either of these things. Needless to say, we won’t be coming back.

We were on our way to a different Mexican place. We saw this place and decided to try it. Oh, so glad we did. The pork shank dinner was delicious. Everything was fresh, with crispy lettuce, ripe tomatoes, moist and tasty rice. The pork shank in braising sauce was so good it is worth another trip

My family and I are regulars. We have been coming here for years. Why? The food. The service. The prices. Most of all it’s family. If you want authentic Mexican home cooking — without the high price of traveling to Mexico — this is it! Ask for Edwin. Comiendo feliz! best, Jim

This was my second visit to La Fogata in Lake Park. The first time I came, I ordered a tamale and an enchilada so this time I decided on a burrito. The Burrito Supremo comes with a side of beans(refried or black beans) and tomatoes, lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream. I ordered the chicken burrito and it includes rice inside. The burrito was a bit mild so I added some salsa from our chip/salsa order and went to town. The chicken was soft and delicious. The rice was a good texture and not overlooked. I have no complaints on the burrito. The refried beans were not as good as my previous visit. I ate a few bites and left them. The texture was a bit off and the favors had not had time to meld together properly. I would like to assume that the restaurant ran out of beans and had to whip up a quick batch. Next time, I might just try the black beans instead. It wasn’t enough of an issue for me to avoid them and perhaps it was a fluke. Service was fast and dinner on a Friday night at 8 was not too crowded but there were definitely people at most of the tables. Note: they have a small bar up front so if you arrive before your friends and the tables are free, stop over for a drink. It looks like a decent time.

Driving down Northlake Rd, me and my girlfriend were looking for a place to go and have a drink. «MARGARITAS» in bold neon lights steered us right into La Fogota. The service we received was quite nice. Even though it’s our fav drink spot, this place also has a great food. The salsa they bring out taste as though they just made in the kitchen. The place doesn’t seem that busy every time we go. We get seated right away, with the upmost customer service from waiter/waitress.

Stopped for lunch. Only one other party there. I should have taken that as a bad sign. Dark, dingy and felt dirty. Order guaca at $ 4.95. I had to salt and add salsa for flavoring. The chips did come out warm. My Enchiladas, beans and rice also came with zero taste! My husband said his chimichanga was ok. It was cheap and still not worth it.

We have been coming here for years and we have watched them expand their space in the strip mall. Their service is efficient and food is always hot and good. The prices are also reasonable unlike the«nuevo» Mexican places that pop up in high rent downtown type locations with less than par food. If you were on a mission, you can be in and out of there in 30 minutes. The salsa, this time around, was heartier with more heat. We tried the combo platter tostada and burrito. Their rice is the best part, full of flavor and bite, fluffy. The burrito is covered in melted cheese. The tostada was covered under crisp lettuce and cheese. There was ample amounts of beef. We prefer black beans over refried. The shredded pork dish, not shredded in the way we think, thinly sliced, was tender. Very good! Its almost like a hole in the wall vibe. Worth the visit!

Wow! By far The best Mexican restaurant around! I have been coming here since the late 1990s and have never had a bad meal! The margaritas are excellent! The food is high-quality and never too spicy. And they have the best Flan in the world! Service is always outstanding and quick. If it comes out super fast, fresh and hot — and exactly how you ordered it 100% of the time. And it’s one of those restaurants that really knows what they’re doing. :-)

Great fresh and fast Mexican food. Friendly staff. Some of the freshest chips and salsa around. It’s in a strip mall location, but you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Place is dark dirty and smells like stagnant water. I would have turned around and left, but I was with other people that wanted to eat there. Figured can’t be that bad, right? Well I was wrong felt sick for hours after. Never again…

Always good standard Mexican fare and I’ve tried most everything, never had a bad meal. Guacamole and salsa always superior, both extra chunky, salsa has abundance of cilantro and lots of bits of scallions, onion in a great spicy base pretty unique to this store. Prices reasonable especially for lunch(see menu in photos). Service is always good and friendly.
