iHop

Horrible service. After placing order, and waiting 45 minutes, we walked out. We find three employees outside smoking. We were told by them that they «ran out of food». Really? ???

Food was ok, service was slow. Ants were all over the table. The waitress laughed and said wow there are a lot of ants. Then asked us to fill in the tip when we left it blank. We had planned in leaving a cash tip but after that decided not to leave anything.

We used to go to this iHop a few times per month throughout the 14 years living in NPB. They served real butter not fake, their service was supreme, they were clean, attractive and always buisy…
BUT, now, they have new management, the long-​time waitresses were not to be seen the last few times we have gone.
The problems we have had are waitress /​cook co-​ordination… when you can’t even get your toast WITH your breakfast (and this has happened on numerous occasions) THAT is a co-​ordination problem, (this was not just a one-​time mishap, it kept happening)! …Maybe they aren’t paying good wages anymore either and that would explain why the good ones left and they are left with the not-​so-​good ones… All restauranteurs/​managers need to remember, you get what you pay for… And now you have lost our patronage…
Also, the decore is looking very shabby and cheap. Time to put some money & class into this once great restaurant…

I have wanted to review this particular iHop for a while since there are a few things that set it apart from the others: location and staff.
From the moment you pull into the North Palm Beach iHop, you notice something very different from the others. It is located on a small inlet where boats are docked on the opposite side. The area is absent of the regular sketchy iHop/Denny’s crowd.
I just dined there for breakfast two days ago and noticed that as I walked in, I was greeted immediately by the a member waitstaff and the cook waved to me as I walked by the kitchen. Upon sitting, the waitress asked me for my drink order right away. It was moderately busy, but my drink arrived within a minute or two. I asked her a question about the pancakes (what I always go there for!) and she gave me her opinion on the new lemon pancakes. The food came out within ten minutes and my drink was refilled in a timely manner. As I was eating, I noticed that that the waitress was chatting it up with a regular that came in.
I like this iHop because of its location and the efficiency and politeness of its staff.
