OMG! OMG! I’ve been here a few times in the past and haven’t thought anything more of their ice cream than ordinary. And then… I discovered their Bordeaux sundae. OMG! OMG! The menu describes toffee ice cream with almonds, crushed bordeaux chocolate candy, whipped cream and chocolate fudge until your heart’s content. I was like, «okay, that sounds good.» Then the server brings this HUGE punch bowl of ice cream heaven with a side of warm chocolate fudge. Look at the photo! Crazy! I could’ve shared this thing with the whole family and everyone would’ve been stuffed. Drizzled it with the warm fudge, untucked my belt and off I went. WoW! I’m getting this from now on every time I come to Malley’s. The 5 stars is really more specific to the Bordeaux sundae than everything else they served… of course, coupled with the great service(they start you off with an appetizer of pretzels and dipping fudge) and the carousel, which is just such a hit with the kids. Definitely a fun place to take the family… or maybe a date.

How can you go wrong with with a trip to Malley’s? You can’t! I’ve been going here for as long as I can remember and have only had fabulous experiences. Perfect for family outings, after baseball game treat, or just a need to cure your sweet tooth. From the old-fashioned decorations, to the quick and efficient service, Malley’s has it all. Did I mention how delicious everything is, including my personal favorite – the banana split with a side of Malley’s very own hot fudge. YUM! No matter how busy they are(which is frequently), the employees still manage to make the experience a pleasurable one. Always is and always will be one of my all-time favorites.

We took our granddaughter there on 7÷17÷15, in the afternoon, we wanted her to experience the carousel. We went to the soda bar, and the man said ‘if you want to sit on the carousel they will serve you there” so we did, our granddaughter marveled at the room turning slowly, she ordered a cone(sugar cone), she always wants 2 scoops at our house, so when the server asked«one scoop or two» I spoke up, in hindsight if the server would have said«are you sure? they are big scoops» we might have yielded to that, anyway she brought it in a sundae glass, I could not believe it because as I helped this 8 year old get it out of the glass it was apparent at the scoops were tilting on a 35% angle! we considered just rolling with it, but I thought«no, this is not right», I took it up to the server near the soda bar and said, «how can she eat this? she is 8 years old’, they weren’t so nice about it, they said it was the consistency of the ice cream, I said«it’s not that way at united dairy farmers»?, they made another cone, it was better, but she tried to manage it, ate about half. I had a hot fudge sundae, strangest one I have had, 2 scoops of vanilla side by side in an oval shallow bowl and a very small pitcher with the hot fudge which was not very warm, it was then that I noticed the ice cream to me had the consistency of ice cream and«soft serve». The sundae wasn’t so good. After we left (and we DID leave a tip) My wife said«did you smell mold?, I did, I started having a little trouble breathing» In our opinion they should have it inspected for mold. Needless to say we won’t be back. What a disappointment!

Friday night, place was packed and it took a while, but the kids had fun looking at the decorations and moving carousel with tables on it. Would be nice if they had a hostess to seat people but certainly not a deal breaker. Last time we were in town was two years ago and 7 year old remembered the ice cream«dog» and didn’t have to even look at the menu to know what she wanted.

Certainly smitten with the Mallys ice cream parlors. This one in particular. Lots of fun with the young ones sitting in the Mary go round. I will say that they do not have the best ice cream, though it is good, but their hot fudge is the best around. It makes everything it touches better.

The best for any type of sweets. I remember the first going here as a kid and getting to sit on the carousel. So cool. Everyone dresses like an old soda shop which definitely adds to the place. The desserts are amazing and fresh. If you’re looking to cure your sweet tooth, hands down this is the best place around!

I went here as a little girl when the carousel also had stuffed animals on the top of the walls. I loved going to the carousel as a little kid. I haven’t been here in 30 years but my friend from Ohio reminded me of it and I had to look it up. My review has stayed in my memories 30 years and I remember how fun and happy it made me feel to be there! Thank you for staying in business — thinking about you after my trip from afar!!!

What a treat! If I was local I would probably buy gifts here often. You can order gift boxes or lots of individual items. I took home a bag full for gifts. And don’t hesitate to ask for samples! The fudge, oh my! Malley’s began in 1936. It was the middle of the Great Depression but Mike Malley dreamed of owning a chocolate business. He borrowed $ 500 and several years later, there are locations all over Cleveland and surrounding areas. This is the only one with a carousel(located in North Olmstead right by the airport) where guests can also enjoy ice cream, which is also very beloved.

Malley’s is a Cleveland staple! There are so many good things here, it is hard to recommend just a few but here goes. Must try: Their fudge sauce: oh my gosh, it is chocolate heaven, I can eat it by the spoonful! Who needs ice cream! Superman ice cream: It was my favorite as a child and is still one of my favorites now(not to be used with the fudge sauce, I’ve tried it) Pretzel bars: who knew something so simple would be so good! Chunks of pretzel in dark or milk chocolate… Yum! All of these things can be found at any Malley’s. What makes the north Olmsted location the best?!? The moving carousel, makes you feel like a kid in a candy shop ;)

When an ice cream parlor knows to provide something salty to go with your sweet dessert, then you know it’s a great place. They bring you a bowl of pretzels when you sit down. They also bring a small creamer of hot fudge for your ice cream. This eliminates the disappointment of getting to the bottom of the sundae, and not having any topping remaining. They also have a great selection of candies.

I love you Malley’s. Sweet and Simple, there it is. What I would like is for you to update your stores. Specifically this location. The paint is old, the walls are cracked, and the ceiling tiles… well they could use some love. I know you do a good business Malley’s, so please, update your stores to the 21st century(maybe a new pink coat of paint). PS Malley’s even if you don’t update, I’ll still tout you as the best chocolate… evah!!!

Not only is Malley’s adorable and decadent as it is(I grew up in Mentor, and that place was a step higher than Toys R Us), THIS Malley’s has tables inside of a(very) slow-moving carousel. Seriously? Adorable. I could tell kids loved it, and«big» kids like my friends and I in our mid-20s had a ball, too. I will have to make some more special trips to visit this location :)

Still my favorite place to get candy. I live in Dayton now and Ester Price just does not compare to this at all. I was back in town for a week and decided to visit with my husband since he has never been. We stopped in to look at the candy sales after Easter and also get some ice cream. The sundaes were quite delicious, just as I remembered. The best part in the homemade hot fudge. I can’t even describe how good it tastes. You just have to stop and try it yourself!

I love all of the Malley’s ice cream locations, but I am definitely partial to this store! The carousel is so charming. It didn’t occur to me until recently that it actually does revolve. A revolving carousel in the middle of a pastel ice cream shop that also has fantasy animal taxidermy?! It really doesn’t get any more adorable than that! The ladies who work there are such sweethearts, too! My usual order is the child sized Bordeaux sundae — Bordeaux is probably my favorite chocolate candy of all time, and is somehow even better in sundae form. Malley’s is such a cool Cleveland institution, and I love sharing it with my out of town family and friends when they’re visiting!

X-) This is why your aunt is fat and drives around with a big«CHOC» euro tag on the back of her buick. Its smells funny in there from years of grand children dropping ice cream I guess. If you were born on the west side. Chances are your mother brought you here. I still marvel at the rotating carousel. It rotates so slow you have to stop to confirm it actually is moving.

Here, put this on and then come back to read: This Malley’s is quite awesome. Everyone’s dressed kind of like they’re in the 1950s. In fact, going in looks just like the opening to the film I linked to above(we don’t need no Tim Burton for this). It doesn’t stop there. There’s a moving carousel, complete with chairs and tables so you can sit down and twirl around at a slow pace while eating ice cream or chocolate or other wonderful things. Now, the food: I got a hot fudge sundae, but they also had other awesome options, including peanut butter options or ones that looked like various animals and clowns. The hot fudge sundae was excellent: the ice cream was very good, and the fudge was also excellent :) They also have lots of candy. Basically, it’s a wonderful place. And for the heck of it, here’s the other song from the movie, because I can Go listen to this while you read reviews about Wall Street or something.

Wow, so many memories! I lived in a town where there’s a Malley’s Chocolate store… with a huge carousel inside! Yup, inside! EF this! I know your tricks, Malley’s! Don’t hypnotize me with the giant carousel so I can spend a crap load of money on literally pounds of chocolate you know my family and I will never eat! …fuck, too late! Damn you magical voodoo carousel of awesomeness!!!

This Malley’s location is the most nostalgic for me, with a full-sized carousel to eat ice cream on and walls and tables lined with candy. Malley’s makes the best hot fudge sauce, and sells it to take home too. The Bordeaux Sundae is my current favorite of the ice cream selection, and the homemade peanut butter cups(way better than Reese’s) are my favorite of the candy. Their ice cream portions are huge; I order the child’s portion of the Bordeaux and it’s still more than plenty. During peak hours, you have to be lucky to get a seat on the carousel, but there are several other(stationary) tables at which to sit throughout the shop.
