I’m a thrift store nut. It’s not perhaps my proudest quality, but the truth is that when you’re looking for something, oftentimes it could be anywhere — so look everywhere! I’ve been to both this Savers and the one in West Little Rock often, and while I don’t always find what I’m looking for, I’ve always had a positive experience. The winning finds I’ve gotten here are: a Desk(computer desk, nice dark wood color around 2’x4’, $ 6), dozens of nice button-up shirts, jerseys for our pick-up soccer team, and a whole lot of nice dresses for the wife. As with any thrift shop, it all depends on what they’ve got when you come in, and it varies a lot day to day. The store has very little control over that. They do, however, have control of the staff and facilities. Every time I’ve been here, the staff have been very friendly and quick, the store and merchandise are clean(more so than most) and the fitting rooms are very well kept up. Being a decently sized and well located thrift store too, this Savers gets a good amount of stuff donated from a number of neighborhoods nearby, and is well-loved by myself and a number of friends I’ve gone thrift shopping with. Also, last time I was in the store they had Memorial Day trivia going over the speaker, that was a cool touch! If you’re looking at thrift shops anyway, check it out!

If you’re looking for a good deal, then pass Savers by. The prices here are about what you’d pay were you to buy it online, and in many cases, even more. This store has a lot of everything, and like many thrift stores, it has a lot of junk. That’s fine. Most thrift stores do. But, generally if you spend enough time and effort, you can find at least some sort of diamond in the rough. No such luck here. This place is big, but there’s no reason to come if you’re looking for a deal. Buy it online, and you’ll end up with the same(or better) quality used items at an equal(or lower) price, without having to change from your pajamas =) It isn’t dirty or overly ghetto(considering we’re talking about a town that straddles gang-infested Little Rock), and the staff seems to be okay(not good, but okay), so that earns it a second star. But still, pass this one by.

I don’t go here very often, as it’s overpriced and a lot of the stuff they carry is junk. I mainly buy records, the occasional weird CD that ends up there, and books. The clothing is not very impressive. I usually end up with much better finds at Goodwill or Salvation Army.

I’ve been told by family that since the move to North Little Rock prices have gone up on popular items, but it was a great store with tons of stuff when it was on Cantrell
