Extremely friendly, knowledgable, and willing to help staff. Coming from Cali where these stores are a dime a dozen and often time the staff are snobs I’d say this place kicks their butts. If you are thinking about brewing, this place is a must visit. Don’t just order your stuff on-line, follow some poor directions and hope your first brew turns out well. Visit this place, ask questions and start off on the right foot. If you have been brewing and want to start experimenting with recipes then this places is your spot. They will help you put together a receipt from scratch. None of this order pre mixed kits stuff that a million other people ordered and brewed. Making your own beer means«making your own» recipes.

Always wanted to make my own beer. Mike was very helpful, and although I just went to Fermentables to recon and see how much it would cost I walked out with everything I needed for my first brew. I have contacted the store twice with questions and they have been very helpful.

Being both new to home brewing and the Little Rock area, I was excited to find a homebrew supply store nearby. It was about a 30 minute drive from Jacksonville, and definitely worth the trip. The place was not hard to find. I was initially greeted by the friendly shop dog. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had just about everything in stock that one would need for your basic homebrew setup: fermenting buckets, carboys, bottling and cleaning equipment, malt-extracts, complete kits, and raw ingredients. I came in specifically in search of glass bottles after I found that Amazon vendors wanted $ 25+ shipping for a $ 6 to $ 9 case of bottles. The same cases at Fermentables were about $ 15 — less than half the price of the ones online! The gentlemen working there were very helpful and knowledgeable. One of them was helping a more experienced customer, and they were discussing the intricacies of all-grain brews. The one who assisted me helped me figure out how many cases I would actually need. Rather than try to sell me an extra case with more bottles than I needed, he found a couple extra bottles to supplement the case I bought, and adjusted the price accordingly. I will definitely be back here for my future brewing purchases as it is a convenient and cheaper alternative to buying supplies online.
