Las Vegas Buddhist Sangha

Giving these guys 5 stars for the awesome Annual Las Vegas Obon Festivals they’ve been putting on since 1989… and their yummy bento boxes. It’s cool that they teach you Obon dancing. I also kinda know of this Sangha because I follow where the Japanese taiko drummers put on performances. So these guys are very strong on preservation of Japanese culture.
I’m not a member and I’ve never been to a service but I love Japanese culture and have an interest in Buddhism. Cannot believe these guys don’t have a Unilocal listing yet. I finally typed in all of the information for them because I was looking for them here and couldn’t find them. That’s crazy.
They’ve been serving the Buddhist community here in Las Vegas since 1984 – 1985. And their organization has been serving Japanese Buddhists in American since 1899. 116 years!!!
I’ve only practiced a little Zen and also Korean Buddhism before but I’m interested in learning more so researched these guys. They practice Shin Buddhism. It’s seems to have a lot of chanting. Not a heavy focus on meditation, at least as a group. Interesting!
