Chill spot, this is the type of spot where your company should make up the rest of the 3 stars. Not the best neighborhood wither, but chill none the less with cheap drinks. Girls, make sure you’re use the buddy system. One of my friends was alone for 5 minutes and was offered cocaine. Strange.

This place is awesome. Ive been coming here for sometime and this has to be one of the best dive bars in the valley. The atmosphere and crowd is just right. You can come here with a small or large crowd. The drinks are really good and the prices are incredible. Start your night off with a 12 dollar pitcher of shocktop and end it with a shot of Remy VSOP. Good luck

Doc is perfect! I love this place! Strong drinks, great atmosphere, and the people are very friendly here. I love all the bartenders but of course it’s Doc’s place so he steals the show! He’s always entertaining and takes good care of you. Adela was super sweet to me since day one and I love coming back here!

So I’m unfortunately at the comedy night. there are alot of people here but little by little they all leave. People come here to party and celebrate their birthday but then this comedy night starts and they’re like wtf I want to drink and listen to music are you effing kidding me. Now If The Comedians Were Actually Good, Then It Might be Okay To stay. But no. , there’s a mass exodus.. So the bar stops ma king money. Why On Earth would you Keep Having This Ridiculous comedy show. Oiy vey..

Three stars because of the cheap, strong drinks. Two stars knocked off cuz of the following: I don’t like that guy doc. Why does everyone love him? Ugh. Another thing to point out, there are regulars at the bar and the bartenders WILL treat you differently if you’re not one of them. I don’t think that’s good service but this is a complete dive so your expectations should be really low I guess… I’m also against the smoking inside… Fucking gross. This isn’t my first go to spot, but it’s certainly not off my radar… yet.

Comedy night Wednesday. Comedian was funny and not irritating for a little dive bar. The drinks are super strong! Had a good time.

I haven’t had time to update my review since my last experience but here I am. I am not sure why this experience was different than my first one other than probably cause Bonnie was not in and Doc probably had too many drinks. As soon as I entered Doc, the owner, ran up to me and started grinding on me I stared and he was like Come on don’t act like you don’t remember. Obviously, he had me confused which is fine it happens. I figured once I clear up the misunderstanding it would be fine, Boy was I wrong. He was very hands on with the customers, and I noticed most women who went to go order drinks would make out with him. I’m sure the women were fine with it or else they would of said no. As I went to the bar to accompany my friend to order a drink he took her credit card and put it down his pants towards his crotch. He was rubbing it and lets leave the rest to your imagination. The card got stuck on his zipper so he had that to deal with. Not my credit card but WTF !? This was nothing like my first visit. Worst part is when I went to go order water, yes water I was not going to drink there, I asked Doc and he sprayed me. He sprayed me with the water instead of serving me. I had to ask a couple more times before the other gentleman served me some. He didn’t seem to approve Doc’s actions by his facial expressions. Never going back there again unless I am fine with being mistreated. Don’t get me wrong the atmosphere before was awesome and this time the customers were still friendly. Everyone knew everyone but it was a bit too much for me this time around.

This has to be the worst experience at a bar I have ever had. We decided to give this stinky, infested with fat old people, rotten place a try on a Wednesday night. Worst decision. My friends and I were deciding on what drinks to get when the bar tender asked for our IDs. When my friend that had recently turn 21 about 2 weeks ago gave them his ID, the bar tender made a huge deal asking him several uncomfortable questions to see«if he was on his game» I found this very odd but thought what the hell, just some old guy trying to give my young friend a hard time. All of the sudden, this very fat and gross looking old lady turns around, looks at my friend and says with a disappointing face«go home to you mother» I not only found this very distasteful, but who are you to say such thing? Maybe you should’ve listen to your own advice 30 years ago, and you wouldn’t have your obese ass sitting alone at a bar. We walked out of there. I will not spend my money on this place.

Best hole in the wall bar ever! Sure it’s small and dark but it’s about the crowd and vibe that makes a place so great. Bonnie and Doc really are so friendly! And judgment here when it comes to karaōke. If you’re looking for a good time with a few drinks, including popcorn. Come here!

The Scene is the landmark of North Hollywood’s «The Bar» that represents the valley. When u come here expect to become apart of a family that gets to vent about there week and also gets to forget about there everyday worries and get ready for the next day. Star’s have come here to remind them no matter how far u go you always have to remember where u came from. Thanks to Doc and Bonnie we have the place that lives up to it’s name«THESCENE»

Cool little dive spot on the North Hollywood/Panorama border on Saticoy in the corner of a small plaza. A great place to watch sports with several TVs darts and and jukebox. As a bonus free self serve popcorn. Decent beer and draft selection with full bar liqs. For décor, the place is adorned with dollar bills on the ceiling along with bras. I didn’t notice anyone in attendance take theirs off while I was there although there were a bunch of dudes at the time. I don’t live in the area but my storage unit is near by and I use it as an excuse to come by and have a drink every now and then.

The Scene is by far one of the most awesome dive bars around — And in one of the most random locations too. The entire ceiling is covered in money, a variety of denominations signed by the tippers. You’ll even find a handful of bras hanging about, they too are signed by the previous owners. The vibe is contagious. Everyone is having a good time and very social I must admit most of the good vibes are radiating off of bartender/owner Doc. That’s as much as i can say because there are not many words that accurately describe him. Drinks are cheap, like $ 4 or $ 5 and ridiculously strong. The only downside is the crowd can get a little young and sloppy on the weekends, but during the week you’ll mostly find regulars who tend to fall into the over 30 crowd. You’ll also find bartender Adela there during the week and she’s a spitfire(and super cute, i seriously want to put her in my pocket).

I can’t stand that bartender, Doc. He’s just a charming womanizer. If he sees a girl by herself or with a group of other girls, he’ll fix them up with strong drinks on the cheap. But if he sees a girl with her male date, he’ll overcharge for the same drink while flirting with her. What a class act. The crowd at this place is often varied and mixed, but you’ll always get a strong meth-head vibe from the regulars. Lots of creepy old dudes hitting on every lady at the place. If you have low expectations and are easily impressed, you might enjoy the karaōke machine with some of your friends. Keep in mind it’s a low-brow place though.

A friend who lives on the north end of Van Nuys wanted to go out for a few beers and suggested to me this spot. I went up Woodman, under the railroad, and emerged, into the pitch industrial black of night at this joint, on the wrong side of the tracks, a place that looks like somewhere you would see on the evening news in connection with an assault or murder. Fortunately, nothing like that happened here. First, when I walked in, it was full of people. Fat people, sitting on stools, laughing and drinking. The Lakers were playing and the crowd was boisterous. I had never seen so many fat ladies in one bar, it was almost refreshing, as if all the bus stops in LA had cleared out and all the vacas negras were herded into this smoky room. The people were real, they were happy, there was no air of pomposity or snobbery. We sat at the end, Andreas and me, and we ordered two beers which were served by a very affectionate female bartender. She was so touchy and warm and kind that she came out from behind the bar and nuzzled up to us with her hands and massages. She also hugged a lady from behind and told her how fat she had become, but it was all laughed off and part of the spirit of the place. More guys came in, mostly younger, seemingly from the neighborhood, with jerseys and short hair and black mustaches and black stubble. The Lakers won by one point and everyone cheered. I went to take a piss and was delighted to see that in this cultural wasteland, old Hollywood pin-up photos from the 1940s were plastered all over the walls. I doubt if anyone at the bar could recognize Veronica Lake or Lauren Bacall, but there they were inside the bathroom. Perhaps the owner is a friend of the late Vincente Minelli? I had a good time here last night with a good friend and I would say that never have I come to a place so sad and forlorn and forgotten and left so happy and loved and remembered well as I did, last night, at The Scene.
