Mom and pop shops are great they make you feel like your at a friends house and their mom is feeding you. I only been here once and look forward to come again. I don’t like the cash only even if it’s smart to think of the profit margin. Paying the 2. Something percent in exchange for more business is still a smarter move. Cause going out to the nearest atm to pay someone else 2.50 to pull out money, just to use that same money to pay for my meal is a bother and hassle. Over all great place and great people. Definitely coming back.

Mom and pop my ass more like they dont care or even have the attitude to be pleasant, i came in yesterday while looking at the menu the cranky old asian lady at the front kept asking me what do i want i said ill have the teriyaki plate and then i asked if they made veggie rolls she was to lazy to even say no we do not make them all she does is shake her head all while staring at her note pad then i asked ill take the California rolls and if they could add some crunch to them she said we don’t do that only to the crunchy rolls so i look at her with a confused face. So then i said ill take the crunch rolls then it turns out its a cash only place so i gave up and just left. Not everyone carries cash restaurant owners update your restaurants a little bit. Terrible place, terrible service, terrible attitude if i could do zero stars i would.

Just stopped by today since it always grabs my attention when I drive by. Ordered the Crunch roll. It was DELICIOUS! Great flavor. It was $ 7.95. They also have fish and chips, noddles, teriyaki chicken… Great combinations. Cashier was very nice. Place is very, very clean. Would definitely come again/recommend it.

really dug this place, hole in the wall and there’s a cheap haircut place nearby to kill two birds with one stone, 12 dollar haircut! whaaaattt?! supercuts isn’t even that cheap. the sushi was good and i got a fried seafood platter and it was susrprisingly really good. they killed the fish n chips and I went to london for 5 months a decade ago so obviously i’m an expert they take their time making the food so keep that in mind and there was this guy hella pissed and yelling at the old asian lady for quoting a wrong time and all his co-workers had to get back to bristol farms and was waiting on their food. i was so confused cause if they worked at bristol farms then they already have sushi there. i was gonna step in, but i was too busy taking pictures of my food and also i’m a meek asian. just kidding, i didn’t step in cause he was kinda right and my hands are trained to kill and i didn’t want blood on my hands that day. so yeah food… i think they make their tartar sauce fresh it was really good. honestly best fish n chips i’ve had around LA. the sushi was good too. just check it out foo not too much japanese food in the area. oohhh CASHONLY. i had to go the wells fargo a bit aways.

I ordered the #2 beef teriyaki and chow noodles. Well, it was alright. I wasn’t blown away by the flavor of the beef or teriyaki sauce so they lost 1 star. The chow noodles weren’t very good at all which is why they lose a 2nd star. The portion size was also a little small considering the price which is why the lost a 3rd star. They only except cash or I would have ordered a roll or two. I probably won’t give them another chance because there are better options close by.

Got the teriyaki plate with beef No flavor, thrown together sloppily. Not salt. No nothing. I won’t ever come here again. You can judge this book by its cover.

This place fucken sucks! My rice bowl was $ 5 plus tax, and they only put about half a cup of rice, a little bit of chicken, and some lettuce to cover the little amount of food. What kind of shit is that, you fucken cheapskates?

Wish I could give zero stars. Not the friendliest owners. In need of extra staff even though there are few customers. They are really slow and not to mention a rip off.

i have to say that i’m a regular at this place. not as much as i use to be. but i do still frequently visit. the food here is good, and the service can be as well. but you have to be polite. some things are better then others i hardly order anything of the main menu i mostly go for the fried sushi which they do very well here, its always hot & fast. the parking is terrible, and the wait can be upwards of 30 minutes plus.(but you can call your order in ahead) if you know what to order you will enjoy this place. if not better luck next time.

I dined in this place with my girlfriend for lunch… This place only accepts cash only not debit/credit cards. We both ordered sushie entrees then couple ppl came after us. Tell me why, they other ppl got their meals first before us? Our meals took over 40 mins to prepare and we didn’t order a lot just(2) basic combos. When the food came, It tasted dry and looked like it was made half ass. Rude customer service and limited parking… Avoid this place if you can

It’s so difficult to criticize mom-n-pop shops because they do rely on word of mouth to get business. But as I’ve told others before, usually a place that does too much doesn’t do one thing well. I think they just have WAY too much on their menu. And different cuisine as well. Seems like they’re trying to cater to too diverse a clientele when in reality, they could save some food costs and whittle it down. The place is decent. It’s just not great. BUT to be completely fair, the neighborhood around it may not expect great. So it is fine for what it is. I know, I’m confusing, but let me expound. This is nestled in the crux of Lankershim & Vanowen. Anyone who knows the valley, realize this is about a few blocks from stripper row and just north enough to be no-man’s land. In other words, you get people coming in near late afternoon, probably already drunk. That said, I am surprised about the selection of specialty rolls they offer. Lobster? Avocado Philly roll? The parking is miniscule. And tough maneuvering. My guess is the clientele are most the people who’ve just exited buses at the stop at the corner. So, as you enter, you see a HUGE sign that touts their specialty… deep fried food. Fish and chips. Shrimp and chips. Chips and chips. Okay, I made that last part up. But you get the idea. And the only difference is the quantity. So, I’m positive their strong point is going to be deep fried. Speaking of décor. It really is a fast food joint. Very uncomfortable benches. And tight fitting. The Siracha was on the table though(huge score). I got their rice and noodle soup. Personally, I would’ve called it «shrimp and noodle soup with vegetables.» Sounds… healthier, right? Well, they give you a side order of white rice with it. Surprising, but… that’s what the sign says. The broth was okay. It did taste authentic, like it wasn’t from a packet. Thought the bowl was WAY too big for what you got. I would’ve thrown in more broccoli to conceal the lack of shrimp. Or the size. But for $ 4.99, I’m not complaining. Then I got the tuna roll. $ 3.50. Cheaper than what you’d get at Ralph’s but, inexplicably small. BUT, to their credit, it did match the picture on the menu. The next two customers who entered got the very same thing I got. Which confused me, since it was a very drunk Mexican dude who smelled of cheap cologne and a construction worker. It’s odd but somehow awesome we’d have the same tastes. I digress, I am going to go back to this place and try their deep fried menu. I know, they fry in canola oil, but the place seems to be steep in oil. The seats felt oily. The table felt oily. I feel oily. So I have to believe it is going to be amazing fish and chips.

Simple lil neighborhood Japanese restaurant. Decent selection of creative rolls. Nothing memorable though. But nearby, friendly staff, and not too pricey… not dirt cheap either — it’s still fresh raw fish. Rolls ranged from $ 4.55-$ 9.95. I’d go back…
