We love you Lupita!(whoever you may be) My husband and I eat here at least twice a week. And mind you, my hubby is Mexican so he knows good quesadillas, sopes and tacos when he eats one. They’re fast and the ingredients are pretty good. Not gourmet, but good enough to not have gotten sick so far :-p One word of advice: beware of the crema there. Sometimes its perfect and other times they water it down so much that it makes the quesadilla soggy, which I hate. But I’m a crema freak so I just keep an eye out. You get to add the ingredients yourself(lettuce, tomato, crema — of course -, cilantro, etc) so you can put as much as you like, which is cool. Seriously, this place has the best chicken and asada quesadillas on this side of town. And the price will keep you coming back for more. Lupitas rocks.

No. Never again. This is a little cart parked outside of Superior grocery store that almost always has a crowd of 2 – 4 mexicans hanging around it, eating or talking. Since I’ve been in the area, I’ve always seen the Daniel’s Taco truck in the PM feeding the masses. This cart showed up probably 6 months ago and has the advantage of being there all day. After trying Daniel’s and loving it, I thought I had to give this little guy a try! What a mistake. I walk up to the cart to look at the menu, I tell the guy what I want and he passes it on the to lady working the grill. Next thing I see is a tomato drop on the GROUND, the lady PICKSITUP and very briefly runs it under the faucet and puts it back at the condiment bar. WOW! I so just wanted to ask for my money back and get the hell out of there. But, I didnt. After a while of waiting for the food(that I was VERY hesitant to take), they give me my order. I’m about to walk back to my car when they say«don’t you want some lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream???» HA! no thank you! Anyways… The prices are high, the quality is terrible(grease trap), the portions are small(which I guess is a good thing!), and they have no sense of food safety. My Advice: Do yourself a favor and wait til 5:00pm when Daniel comes around and serves good, fresh food with bigger portions and decent prices.

Ah, Lupita’s! How I love thee… let me count the ways! My bf and I often end up coming here about once a week. We try and stay away but it’s really impossible. What makes their quesadillas AMAZING, is their freshly made corn tortillas. YUM. Not only that, but their carne asada is perfectly marinated. They have yet to disappoint! And I doubt they will really. I’ve been coming here for quite some time, and have gotten my quesadillas and tacos made by different people. From what I’ve seen they have chicharron, mushrooms, chicken, and zucchini ingredients for quesadillas. The garnishing area has lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, green and red salsas, more cheese, grilled onions and jalapeños, cilantro and onion. They also sell bacon wrapped hot dogs! These look really yummy, but I’ve yet to try them because I’m always drooling for and infatuated with their tacos and quesadillas. The owner is super nice and so very funny, always cracking jokes and sharing a story or two. One thing to note is that this is a smaller version of a taco truck, not a free-standing place or normally-large taco truck. It faithfully sits outside the supermarket, tempting people to buy food here instead! Hours are pretty standard — I’ve seem them here as early as 9am, and as late as 10:30pm. I’m now hungry for Lupita’s after writing this review — it might be time to make our weekly trip out there! and then, maybe hit the gym? =D
