This little place is a hidden gem!!! The food is outstanding. Ceviche, plantains, the Lomo solato(meat and potatoes) the friendly atmosphere can’t wait to come back! This is a must visit for dinner!

I was in the area and craving some Peruvian food and come across this place — let me tell you that this place deserves all the stars it can get. It was so amazing. Ive been to some other Peruvian places that just dont get it and this place does. The food was flavorful and the ambiance was causal and laid back. Its located in a shopping strip area so the parking may be a bit tough. The seating area was a bit small but I dont mind. Makes me feel more at home. The service was great– she was super friendly. Overall this place had great food, clean, and friendly. I will definitely come back!

The waitress which was pregnant was a doll… Lomo saltado for lunch and it was a hefty portion. Chill home cooked Peruvian food. Will definitely be back.

Tonight’s meal once again confirmed that this is my favorite Peruvian food in the area. Been to Lima and I know the difference. Atmosphere basic but clean. I come for the very Peruvian Cevice. And unique range of fresh tastes. Generous portions. Be advised this is not some trendy newbi, rather it is a source of authentic and fresh food. If it weren’t genuine, hard working Peruvians would not be here enjoying a taste of home, along with those in the know from Studio City and LA. Owner Paco is usually in house seeing to it that there is a friendly greeting and that quality is maintained. Been coming back for several years(formally called Las Cueñas) and always satisfying.

I notice continuously Peruvian restaurants have lousy service. It’s almost like if they don’t care. Most of the time excellent food but horrific attention to the restaurant aspect.

Go to El Hatuchay. This place has horrible service. I walked in and was not greeted by any employee. They walked past us and just looked at us. They didn’t even tell us where to sit. We walked right out and went to El Hatuchay and they had way better service! Their food is also amazing.

The severs are super nice and friendly. They made awesome recommendations! My mom just went for the spicy green sauce and brought home, what is now my favorite food ever. tallarines verdes de bistec and the drink that tastes like Christmas jamaica. I can’t ever remember what it’s called, but ask for it! All around good food

The food here is always wonderful. If you love home cooked fresh food you will not be disappointed. Everything I have ordered is good and tastes wonderful. You have to also try their homemade drinks… purple corn or passion fruit.

The food is Excellent always fresh and consistent, the service is off and on, it was ON the day I was there. If you want good fresh food that taste like it was cooked at home, THISISTHEPLACE! If you are looking for Ambiance THISISNOTTHEPLACE! The parking Sucks! Go with an open mind and enjoy the food. I saw a man eating his take out food at the counter and it prompted me too try the meat pies that he could not wait to dig into. I loved their meat pies! SoCal has a lot of diversity in restaurants from different countries, that’s a good thing, it’s part of the cultural thing here. I am sure I will return, I go about once or twice a year, the Oxtails, Rice and Beans are delish. Went you just want too be Down, No makeup or fakeness, great place to be yourself,(refreshing) Lol :):):)

Breakfast I would highly recommend!.. lunch and dinner not so much… Me and my family have been having their breakfast for 12 + years and it’s the best in LA. Service I would give it a –1 if I could. They’re short staff during their busy mornings and food takes about 45 mins To 1 hour to arrive at your table. Wife and kids hate it here due to their service and wait time.

I have been dinning at this restaurant for the past 10 years. Food has always been very delicious here and now the chef/owner is adding more dishes to the menu. This is a hole in the wall place and it’s been operating for over 20 years. The lomo saltado is to die for… Dine here you won’t regret!!!

The service was excellent at this restaurant. The restaurant is clean and has very little décor. The food however, was shy of 4 star quality. I ordered the jalea personal and found the batter used to be too salty and not crunchy enough. In addition, the purple onions used didn’t taste well marinated. I also tried the tallarin saltado and found it satisfying. I will return to try different dishes.
