Service is super lax but the coffee is good and not overly sweetened! This is a good thing Café should have a bite of bitter Death to sugar! To the diabetic guillotine! They also offer sugar alternatives. They have a froyo bar that is extraordinarily tempting and a variety of gluten free treats.

This is my weekly retreat with girlfriends to just sit back and gab. The baristas are lovely and I’m grateful that they are always so accommodating when we have a large crowd come in.

Terrible coffee and flavored specialty coffee drinks. We also had a smoothie that was super sweet and watery. Don’t go here. We pulled off of meritt to go to it given high star ratings and its terribly disappointing.

Went here on a whim, because I grew up in North Haven and remember the amazing bagel place they used to have in this location when I was growing up. The inside is very clean, but rather dark. Many dark colors actually… Anyways, the staff was friendly and my bagel was delicious. I love that they have numerous tea’s that you can choose from– I haven’t seen that anywhere around. Overall, good prices, very clean, and friendly staff. I would be back.

Moonrise Café is simply a great spot to chill. The menu offers a very diversified fare with foods that are healthy and good for you. The Chai is awesome. I highly recommend this treasure as a place to eat and hang. I will be going back as often as possible.

Very cool vibe here, needed to have a quick meeting with a local distributor and didn’t want to try and find a table at Starbucks. Coffee was very good, also had an egg and cheese on a bagel which was solid. Not the biggest fan of microwaved scrambled egg but understandable since they don’t have a stove or the room for it, at least it was cracked and whipped up fresh. Young girl behind the counter was very friendly. Great spot for a meeting business or friendly, definitely a good date spot, did not try the frozen yogurt but they seemed to have a great topping selection and most importantly it was spotless.

Great place! Internet works great, chai tea was nice, but meant to knock out another hour of work and place actually closes at 9pm not 10 like Unilocal says.

Went with a friend in since it was the only place that offered some good looking Frozen Yogurt. Both the interior and the exterior were in modern style café, with a ton of toppings for the Fro-Yo. It also had excellent coffee and iced tea. The seating was comfortable, stylish and modern without being too contemporary and it was enjoyable to be able to watch AFV on the TV. It also provided a few games to play with each other to pass the time. Overall, we loved it and it was a great experience and we hope to be back when passing through!

A great selection of coffee and panini. The bagels looked great, a friend enjoyed the egg and cheese one. I chose the buffalo chicken and blue cheese panini, caramel apple latte — then opted for a small frozen yoghurt. Everything was great. Staff were friendly and attentive — food was tasty and the expresso used for my coffee was superb. The choice for frozen yoghurt was immense, I opted for a mix of salted caramel and cookies and cream… with a lot of toppings on display, the customisation available is huge. Not the cheapest, but I’ll more than happily be back.

Breakfast sandwiches like an egg and cheese with avocado on a fluffy croissant, smoothies, frozen yogurt with a large variety of toppings, tea, delicious lattes… relaxed atmosphere and a very clean and contemporary space. Will definitely be coming back.

Undeniably the best kept secret in north haven for high quality beverages and food products. The coffee is good, the teas are plentiful and they steep the teas. Artisan bagel and flat bread sandwiches are delicious, the froyo is really good and there are so many toppings! Belgian waffles are freshly made and my fave is probably the special breakfast sandwich. definitely a place to stop in the morning. My favorite drink is iced London fog tea.

Maybe it was all the 5 star reviews but my expectations were so high and I’m basically disappointed with this place. First time there this morning and ordered and iced coffee. Watched the guy make it, grinding the beans and everything which was a good sign. Then i watched him go to the sink and fill the 2⁄3 filled cup up to the top with sink water. Why? What about some filtered water if you are going to grind and press beans? But I’m almost glad he did because it was soooooo strong, much stronger than any Starbucks I’ve had and if it didn’t have the water I probably couldn’t have drank it. Then I decided to order a bagel after perusing the menu and cases. they had 3 kinds, plain, wheat and everything. While it was toasting he goes to me next time order the bagel before the coffee. I was taken aback because what does it matter to him? I’m the one waiting. And I decided to get one after I ordered my coffee anyways. Well got my bagel and was disappointed with that too. It was clearly a stop and shop bagel or one that tasted like it. I expected a real bagel not those airy ones. Overall not impressed. I certainly wouldn’t get either of those 2 things again. I will most likely come back and try the frozen yogurt and maybe a tea. They had a big selection of teas that looked good. Sorry I just don’t understand the 5 star reviews yet…

What a great«find» on Unilocal. The name«Moon Rise, Coffee and Yogurt» doesn’t do this place justice. The outdoor signage makes it look like a Baskin-Robbins, but It’s more like a homegrown, upscale Starbucks. Eclectic interior furniture and food and coffee made to order. Our breakfast sandwiches were hot and FRESH. I watched the owner grind and press our organic plain coffee, and you can taste the difference. Coffee was strong, but not too strong like Starbucks or other trendy places. Hard to beat this place — Check it out. I am a tough reviewer, but would come again for sure.

Loved this place! Their breakfast croissant was just as good as it looked! And their chai tea hit the spot! Also, lots of seating and a nice ambiance. I didn’t have any tea but they have a wide range of loose leaf tea that I’ll have to come back and try.

Clean. Inoffensive. Connecticut. At least it’s not Dunkin’ Donuts on the side of the highway. No, but really, it tries very hard. This is probably the best cappuccino to be had in any of the directional Havens. Didn’t get the chance to try their frozen yogurt but according to the other reviews it’s the bomb. If it’s the bomb though, this bomb is going off in outer space because it feels like you’re walking into a café of the future circa 1990. Having said all of that, everybody loves a trier and believe me Moonrise Café in Connecticut tries. Their cappuccino was a welcome treat in a sea of Dunkin donuts along the Merritt.

Unexpected great place with absolutely amazing coffee! I travel for a living and am very very picky about coffee and find it hard to find a good cup. I do not visit chain coffee shops like Starbucks and the like… Their product is poor quality and overpriced. This place was awesome and if I indulged in other stuff(like their cool looking desserts) I would have… But I am just a coffee guy.

Great new spot in North Haven! Amazing coffee & breakfast sandwiches — they use top-quality ingredients & it shows when you taste the food! The ice-coffee is truly incredible as is the ambience! The Froyo is great as well and the pomegranate is their best flavor!

Love moonrise! Literally obsessed with their pomegranate frozen yogurt(favorite flavor) and their chai tea latte is my favorite drink! Has such a great vibe when you walk in and the staff are always so nice and friendly! Perfect spot to grab a drink on-the-go or sit and hang out with friends while indulging in some delish froyo!
