This place is delicious! I’ve been looking for other hidden gems out there and nothing compares to this one!

First time here and there are so many things in previous reviews that are spot on. First, I so badly wanted to write a raving review but at the same time didn’t want to tell everyone about this hidden little gem. Second, you most likely will think you are driving on someone’s private drive before you hit the small parking lot. Third, listen to the warning about getting a large drink while on an empty stomach. Wow, delicious and one will likely do it. Now to the food, we stated with the chips and salsa while we looked at the menu. Salsa was fresh and flavorful. Spicy but not unnecessarily hot. We got the tortilla soup and again great flavor and spice without being unbearable. Tender chicken, fresh celantro and the salty mexican cheese. Of you can control yourself in the chips, get the soup. I got tacos al pastor(pork) so yummy but no rice and beans, but then again didn’t need it. My wife got the beef burrito and that came with rice and beans. Maybe a quarter in and she tapped out too. Service was great. Booze does add up though Definitely best mexican in the area.

I came as part of a large grouo, yet they still got our entrees out quickly. Everyone raved about the food, i was very happy with skirt steak. Guacamole as well. I disagree with any reviwer who compares this to Chiles or On the Border, this is real food. much better. Service left something to be desired, but they are a small staff and one person was brand new. All in all, we were a group of restaurant folk and we will return, so it would probably be five stars, really.

Ummm Cinco De Hidden… !!! This place is great! I liked jalapeños in Fairlawn but this is better! Split some apps and fajitas, spot on! We went at 545 on a Friday and by the time we got our food the place was packed and people had to leave who didn’t have reservations. Seriously hidden, behind the church, but great!

First of all, PLEASEUPDATE your business hours! THEYOPENAT1:30 not 1! Second of all, when I called and asked about what time do they open, the lady didn’t even bother telling me that they should be opening at 1:30 she said at 1pm. Train your people equally so everybody is on the same page! I waited almost half hour outside waiting for them to open… Very rude! I’m very disappointed!

Food was great! This is my second experience with them and both were excellent. I was greeted at the door by a friendly smiling hostess. You can tell they care. Will be going back again and again. This place is a no brainier.

Only good thing here is the chicken fajitas. Drinks are strong if you like to get drunk off one drink. Meat is chewy and overcooked on a lot of dishes.

Staring to write this review makes me want to jump in my car and go here. I have dined here a couple times now and have enjoyed it each time. The food is so flavorful from the shrimp jalapeño app to the skirt steak to the churros for dessert. Service here has always been solid too. They have outdoor seating in the warmer months. This place is a truly a «hidden gem» since it’s set back off a main road. Parking lot is very small so parking can be a nightmare. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. Do your a favor and give this place a try!

Awful. Awful. Awful. Awful. Awful. Awful. Awful. Awful. Review was said to be too short by Unilocal to be posted. So here it is long version. Awful.

Great atmosphere… Great service. Great food. and great drinks ! This is a hidden treasure ! Food is a limited menu but all the right combinations are on there. The service is outstanding. all the waiters help each other out and they all take care of you regardless if it’s their table or not. Definitely give this place and try and you will fall in love with it the first time just like we did !

This place is a little hidden but totally worth it. The way it is set up, there is a narrow road you drive in through to the back, but that actually adds to that rustic feel as if you were in some hacienda looking place back in Mexico. they have a nice little outdoor seating area, and it’s just a pleasant experience all together. I have been there twice now and the food was very good, everything we have tried we liked. My father is from Mexico, and he was pleasantly surprised. we also met one of the owners and he was extremely welcoming. Offered us his own homemade mango-pineapple infused tequila shots and they were delicious, i have to suggest the chipotle crab cakes for an appetizer, I loved them here. And I love that it is just close to home.

What a nice & cozy restaurant! Great food, we ordered chicken & beef tacos which were amazing. The service wasn’t great, but very friendly. The Mariachi band provided an extra special atmosphere. We will definitely come back!

This place serves some pretty authentic Mexican food. The salsa is fresh and tasty. Had the guacamole which they make for you fresh table side. Had beef tacos and the meat is nice and tender and flavored well. They have outside seating which is great when the weather is nice. Ironically, they play Dominican music at a Mexican place It’reasonably priced for how good it is. You’ll have to turn at the church entrance and make the immediate right to get to this place. There’s a small sign by the church but it’s so small you might miss it so use the church as a landmark.

Tried this place based on all the good reviews and couldn’t agree more that this place is great. We ordered the sangria(served in pineapples), appetizer sampler, and two enchilada dishes(one chicken/one beef) and everything was delicious. Even the salsa and chips were great. I love how fresh everything was. The weather was warm so we opted to sit outside as there’s patio seating, which we enjoyed. There was even a mariachi band that arrived near the end of our meal. Note on location: it’s a little off the main road. You’ll see a sign for Cinco de Mayo so pull into the lot but make the first right. It looks like you’re driving into someone personal property/back yard.

To echo a sentiment of another Unilocaler, this place really is a hidden gem. Like literally hidden. I almost didn’t write a review so I could keep it secret. It is down a creepy pathway near a church. They deserve the business though so here it is. It’s way better than all other places I’ve checked out in the area. I love it! They even have outside seating. The place is a pretty good size. I usually just get a regular margarita, on the rocks, no salt. You only get the happy hour special at the bar though. They have those pineapple drinks too! Although, the size of the pineapples can vary whereas pricing doesn’t. Everything is fresh and delicious. It’s my go-to place when I want Mexican. I eat a ton of chips & salsa and usually go for something classic like a burrito. It’s simply excellent. I didn’t like sitting outside the one time because people were smoking and being loud and obnoxious, but that’s not really the fault of the establishment. I just can’t enjoy eating/drinking when all I’m breathing in is smoke and being forced to listen to people’s loud, ignorant conversations.

Cinco de Mayo rocks. I heard of the place as a friend drive by. We are mexi-freaks, checking out every place near and far. I believe we were greeted happily and were made to feel welcome by Marco. The lunch menu is literally thrilling because all of the things one might expect are there and are delivered, as my dining partner said«with an actual nice presentation.» This isn’t just dumped on a plate, the kitchen makes it beautiful. Here’s a little tag Unilocal will love: «The table-side guacamole was handmade and customized to sublime levels of explosive taste by our waiter Marco!» One would think it’s easier to make mexican food than other types, but to present it FULL of flavor like my veggie fajitas were carefully made, is another labor of love really. The flavor was IN the food, not just ON or under it. Kudos and my muchos gracias to Cinco de Mayo. Bang! They really do rock. «Killer frozen margaritas by the way!» As a note to find the place, turn in at the entrance to the Grace Church on High Mountain Rd, and make an immediate right, follow that to the end, and you’re there on your left. Nice clean near building.

So glad I found this place, thanks to Unilocal! I’ve ridden past this place tons of times on my bike(not motorcycle) and never knew this place even existed. It’s hidden off the road(small sign) and you actually enter down a small driveway on the entrance to the Grace Bible Church. Stopped in for lunch on a beautiful September day and sat on the patio. Outdoor seating nearby Wayne NJ is hard to come by, especially at a place with good food and cold beer! Warms chips, homemade salsa and cold Coronas arrived promptly. I had the skirt steak, my guest had the chicken enchiladas. The skirt steak was tender and prepared perfectly. The sides were authentic and tasty. The chicken enchiladas were also authentic and tasty. Our server was friendly and explained they have a live Mariachi band on Sunday nights(5pm –8pm)!! Can’t wait to come back on a Sunday for live music, great food and a cocktail in a real pineapple ;)

Talk about hidden gems, by definition this place is a hiddem gem. I actually had to drive around and find the restaurant, after I saw the sign. There is a narrow road that appears to be a driveway in front of a church that leads to the restaurant, but I found a back way that is easier. The drinks at this place are very good. The wife and I got the«Bulldog Sangria» margarita which they give you an option to have it in a pineapple instead of a glass. We both opted for the pineapple not realizing the drinks were going to be fourteen dollars each. The beer selection is pretty general. Most of the beers are Mexican beers and domestics, no craft beer, but that’s okay. We got the guacamole which is made tableside. I’m a big fan of places that make tableside guac, cause they usually ask if you want it spicy or mild. The wife and I both ordered tacos. The tacos are served the traditional mexican way with double soft corn tortillas. I ordered the al pastor tacos and she got the skirt steal tacos; both tacos were phenomenal! I can’t wait to come back and try some other dishes.
