DONOT order a pickguard from this company. They will do anything they can to hold onto your money and not offer a refund if anything is wrong. Don’t forget to add in the terrible customer service and robotic responses of Virgil Lock their pickguard manager.

DONOTDOBUSINESSWITHTHESEPEOPLE! I was looking to replace my Fender Bullet pick guard and the folks at Fender recommended WD Music. I found they list only one for the bullet(Please note that this pickup will only fit genuine mid ’80’s Fender® Bullet® guitars. Will not fit Squier®) First of all, the Bullets were made in ’81, ’82, ’83…then they became the Squire. I ordered the pick guard and it arrived in a few days. When I placed it on the guitar, I found that it was off by about 1⁄8 of an inch. I called and spoke to David? He said to send it back, include a tracing or better yet the old pick guard, they would re make it and send it back. A few days later I get a call from Virgil, tells me that they can make the new pick guard but they need to get me to pay the return shipping… WTF??? I tell him that they made the mistake, I paid for shipping back to WD Music and now you want me to pay another $ 7 to ship it back to me??? Yes he said… then he told me that they cant pay for the shipping. He then started spouting out some BS about how he has 4 different templates for the Bullet and I ordered the«Late 70’s» version… they didnt even make the Bullet until 1981! I got tired of arguing and I agreed to pay the shipping since they were basically holding my old pick guard hostage. So in the end, I paid $ 28.95 for the pick guard and $ 21.25 for shipping… absolutely ridiculous! Return shipping charges are part of the cost of doing business, especially if the problem was your fault. I will be shooting an email to Fender to let them know how customers are treated by WD Music and ask them to stop recommending them for pick guards. There are plenty of other vendors out there.

Virgil Lock has poor business ethic. I ordered a pick guard from them, and they claim pick guards are cut to order. Naturally, I received the wrong one. So I had to pay shipping a second time to return their defective product. When they offered to replace it, they wanted me to pay shipping a third time. When I asked why I should be made to pay a third time because of their mistake, I was told they would just refund the money. So instead of eating $ 7 for shipping, they would rather lose $ 20 for the sale. Something tells me Virgil didn’t go to a good business school, or just has zero common sense. Even though I had an email from him stating the part I ordered was the correct one — and they sent a pick guard that didn’t even fit — Virgil claimed I got what I needed. From there the theives just backpedaled and claimed I was lying when I told them I even called in to see if it was in stock, only to be told«we cut them to order, honey» by the register biscuit named Jessica. Do yourself a favor, don’t buy from these people. Find what you’re looking for elsewhere. You’ll get a better price, and much better customer service than you would from WD Music.

I upgraded to two stars as ‘someone’ wrote me and asked what day exactly did we visit, either to fire someone or discredit the incident. Yet the opportunity to ask me to come by any way or to offer warrantee work if it authorized by Fender was not used.

Wow! Amazing customer service and lightning fast shipping! Was having trouble getting a custom pickguard for my ’72 Telecaster. Called up the WD Music custom pickguard shop. They helped me find the pickguard I wanted, explained the different options and let me know it would be made THATDAY! I ordered the pickguard on a Friday and I had it on my doorstep Tuesday morning! It fits perfectly, all the holes line up and the 3-ply material is cut flawlessly! Can’t say enough good things. I appreciate good service and quick turnarounds and these guys definitely know what they are doing!
