This was a totally unexpected treat at noon today! I usually go to North Fork once or twice a month from Fresno on business and mostly stop in a the Cabana Mexican restaurant for lunch, not even being aware of Slim’s somehow but now I’ll definitely alternate or maybe even switch to Slim’s for their great sandwiches and coffee. It’s a small quiet unobtrusive place with an almost retro-​counter culture coffee shop atmosphere which I love in the middle of the Sierras. Not least co-​owner Mallory is quite friendly and easy-​going and makes a delicious breakfast sandwich. Highly recommended if you are in North Fork!

Nice little place. Stopped here on my way to Yosemite. The lumber shak bagel is delicious. The coffee here is the best coffee i ever tasted, way better than starbucksThey deserve five stars.

Since there were only 6 reviews I was a tad skeptical to drive the extra miles to go here but they were spot on. Very yummy food and they provide clean and healthy options. I got the chicken wrap with bacon, avocado, and bbq sauce and it was awesome. This is a great place to stop on your way to or from the Bass Lake area. It is moderately small — 3 tables inside — so you would have trouble cramming a large party in. But if it is just you and a few friends you will have a great experience!

I had the shak bagel, hubby the lumberjack shak. Both awesome, I’m just a wuss with chili. Really fresh and tasty! One of the best finds in over 2000 miles of driving.

Was there about a month ago and had a really good brunch. We had the lumberjack shack bagel, a peach tea, and coffee and it was really good. It’s a very local place and is pretty small but worth stopping by!

Slim’s is a local and out-​of-​towner favorite. Free Internet. Great coffee. One of a kind bagels. The Rah and Lumber Shak Bagels are scrumptious. The owner, Scott, is a true gem, whose created a place where all are welcome.
****Piece of advice for those traveling from out of town. First, have respect for the locals (if you have no idea what that means I can’t help you) and second, forget you ever had a Starbucks coffee because it’s NOT Starbucks, it’s BETTER!!!****

What a great addition to an already great town! Slim’s is a friendly café with indoor and outdoor seating. It is frequented by locals who sit and play cards, listen to great music and enjoy gourmet coffee! Scott, the owner, makes delicious sandwiches to accompany a variety of freshly brewed teas.
If you are in North Fork, you must check out Slim’s. If you aren’t in North Fork, you probably should come and visit!
