Cute little toy store in the center of town. They have a really good assortment of quality toys and many items are out to try out. Their grow a frog is 28 years old and is out at the cash register. The folks who own thus place and work here are super nice. While I am sure it is tough to compete with Amazon, this little toy shop is nice when on vacation.

This toy store in the center of North Conway is a great place to stop in and buy some unique items for the kids in your family. We stopped in at this store while spending an evening in town and we have to say that we loved it. It isn’t as stuffed with items as we would have thought, but everything they had was great and not terribly priced. We ended up looking through for a while and eventually bought a few items. The best parts of this store were the polite staff and 27 year old frog they have on display. Definitely a place to visit with kids but be prepared to walk out with something.

Great selection, competitive prices(compared to what I saw on , some were actually better at the Toy Chest than on Amazon), but the customer service was lacking. It’s nice to walk into a small town shop and get a friendly greeting and«goodbye, thanks for coming.» But the two ladies behind the counter didn’t acknowledge us when we came in and kept taking about personal things while we shopped(and the shop isn’t that big so we could hear everything). The one acknowledgment the ladies behind the counter have even after sifting through items at their counter where they stood, was when we bought something. It’s ok, they just need a reminder that they are in sales and need to be friendly. There was a lot of toys out to play with. That’s always nice. The kids had a great time.

Spend sometime browsing this store over the weekend while my family was in town for vaca. Though the selection is not as big as Walmart/TRU they do stock some cool stuff that you cannot find in those other big box store. The lady working that day is super nice. We talked about the 27 years old frog that have at the cashier’s counter. Damn frog looks like a floating pickle… so fat and very cute! Knowing that we were tourists in town, she offered to take family photo for us in front of the store. We picked up couple toys for kids, including potato gun. Never seen that before. Now I need to go buy a sack of potato I guess. I will come back for another walk next time in town.

The prices are a little high at this store, but that could be because most of the toys are of a better quality. I liked the fact that the owners were considerate enough to put a very small section of «throw-away» stuff near the door, like sticker books and plastic figures, just in case some long-suffering parents found themselves having to buy something or face a tantrum. This was one of my kids’ favorite places to stop in during our stay, and we found some awesome birthday presents for the neighbors.

This review is overdue, but this summer my kids had a blast in this store. Jane was especially helpful with one of my daughters who needed to exchange her toy. Very friendly, very considerate locally owned store. Thank you from Portsmouth

If you can’t find something you love here you’re too picky! You’d be better off buying cheap crap from Wal-Mart or Toys r Us. They have a wonderful selection of «old» toys — I kept going through saying, «Oh I had that as a kid, I can’t believe they still make them!» Stuff like bingo cards for car trips, buckets«walkers» on a rope where you’re basically standing on an overturned bucket & use the ropes to hold them on your feet & walk around taller, etc. They have a good selection of Thomas stuff, a great selection of eco-friendly toys, a great selection of pretend stuff like shopping carts, baby doll strollers & cribs, a great selection of craft kits, great Melissa & Doug section, plenty of bins with cheaper toys like loose trains, cars, trucks, animals, pencils, lips gloss, jewelry, plus stuff like diaries that lock, mini lockers, jewelry boxes, plus a nice selection of books, stuffed animals, & figurines. I could have easily dropped a thousand dollars in here! Entirely too much fun. My one complaint is the cashiers. We went in here on two different days & the woman who checked us out the first day was very polite — I gushed over their selection & she politely said«thank you,» but wasn’t overly friendly. The second day we were here there was a different cashier & again, I complimented their selection & how especially seeing so many toys from my own childhood was really fun & her response was, «Yeah, when we order inventory if it’s something that will make the ’50-something’ crowd say, ‘Oh wow I had that when I was a kid’ then we have to order it.» I’m 30 years old & I look good for my age, I take care of myself, I’m fit & I don’t have any gray hair, so there is NOWAY anyone would EVER confuse me for being 50-something! I stared at her, waiting for her to correct herself, but nothing. For that I dock them one star. Sorry, you can’t age your customer(who is GUSHING about your selection) by 20 years & still get 5 stars from me. ;-P

Great toy shop — I stop here once every year on my ski trip in NH. They have a great selection and everyone has been really nice and welcoming. I am always able to find something to buy for the kids in my life.

Some European but not most by far as it’s ok at best. What you’d expect of a toy store really nothing impressive or impressionable.
