I stayed in this hotel last night and I checked out today. It was one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed. I booked a corner suite and when I arrived, I was assigned room 221. The room had an indescribable smell. The trash had not been taken out. There were handprints on the windows, and stains on the carpet. And to top it off, we kept stepping on dog food that was scattered around the room. It clearly had not been cleaned. I called the front desk and they sent up housekeeping to spray air freshener and take out the trash from the prior tenants. Housekeeping agreed about the smell and said, «the other rooms in this hotel don’t smell like this.» I decided to ask for another room. They didn’t have any more corner suites, so they gave me the keys to a regular room — with no offer to refund the difference in price, no offer to help me move, no apology for the filthy room. I later found out from an internet search that the second floor is the floor where pets are allowed up to 65 pounds. The next room was only slightly cleaner. I had to clean a blood like substance off the tub. Stained carpet, etc. I summoned my courage to ask for the difference in the rate of the corner suite I paid for and the regular room, and after an initial offer of $ 10, they finally — and very begrudgingly — credited me $ 50. Still no apology for the dirty room or trouble. I really wish I had chosen a different hotel.

I stayed at this Embassy Suites when I was in Charleston for a weekend for work. I travel a lot and stay at many ‘convention center’ hotels but I was pleasantly surprised by thisEmbassy suites. My room was large and comfortable with a separate dining/living area, a small kitchenette with a fridge and microwave, and a nice sized bedroom. I love the fact that they had a complimentary breakfast, and it wasn’t just your run of the mill sad stale muffins that usually comes with any hotel complimentary breakfast. They had an omelette bar, yogurt parfaits, fruit, sausage, potatoes, cereal etc. I also love their social hour every night from 5:30 — 7:30! They didn’t have a great selection of liquor for this, however I’m more of a wine drinker so the free wine made me very happy. Also, shout out to Adam at the front desk, I had a bad cab experience at the airport and Adam truly went above and beyond to rectify the situation.

The manager contacted me and offered to make things right next time. He seemed sincere and I may take him up next time I’m in town — assuming it isn’t family reunion season.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel; its’ massive on the inside the layout is pretty nice. The lobby was very inviting and I liked the natural aspect they were going for. My only gripe was the water pressure in the shower; it was pretty bad but other than that, a very good stay.

It’s a dated facility charging much more than they should. I’m in town for a trade show, the rate here is $ 180(ish) a night. Sadly, the room feels worn; it’s seen its better days. The thought DID cross my mind that maybe the less than stellar rooms were reserved for show attendees. In any case, Hilton is definitely falling short here. Stained carpet and old bedding shouldn’t command premium prices. In hindsight, I should have shopped around for a newer less pricey hotel — there are a NUMBER of them within easy walking distance from the show.

It has one the worst internet/WIFI quality I have used and seen ever. It is a kind of dial-up internet. I asked them about their internet quality and complained, but I got a surprise answer: «Everybody has your problem, we cannot do anything» It’s a kind of funny, I am paying more than $ 200 per night with awful internet in the year of 2016!!!

Stayed here Sunday — Tuesday for convenience. The lobby is nice, there is a large atrium and a bar right in the center. The elevators are quick, free breakfast in the morning with a made to order omelet station, fruits, cereal and pastries. Our room(322) was… outdated and not very clean. The carpets were old, the shower had stains and cracks, we found various hairs on the bed sheets and towels that were not ours… I know… it makes me cringe just thinking about it. There were also various strands of hair in the sink, stuck on and dry. We knew the hotel was at capacity so there was no use in trying to switch rooms. The view of this room is an empty parking lot. They offer free happy hour from 5:30−7:30(beer and wine only) BUT beware, the free drinks are located at another small bar behind the buffet, if you order from the bartender she will charge you, I actually got a little annoyed that she didn’t clarify this for us. Other guests we were with are the ones who informed us that the free drinks were located in the back. The light snacks are cheese and crackers and chips and salsa. Mike & Chuck the bellman/shuttle drivers were GREAT! They were so helpful with my bags and happily drove us to two separate destinations on two separate occasions, one was downtown. You can’t beat that! When Mike checked me into my room he also asked me if the temperature was ok and then he adjusted it for me… I have never had a bellman ask me that so I was super impressed! There is a convenience store in the lobby with sodas, toiletries, traveling trinkets and clothes! You can charge any items to you room which I found convenient because the credit card machine kept saying«connection error.» Unfortunately Mike and Chuck could not make up for the state of our room!

Not too happy with the management at this hotel. Stayed for a convention. On night one we realized our room was a single when it should be a double. Management didn’t fix it, their solution was to bring up a comforter for the pull out. Didn’t get much sleep that night and my back still hurts. The noise of the lobby kept me awake as well. The happy hour and breakfast almost made up for it. We had Internet access but it was very spotty and only worked in certain areas of the room. Hard to get any work done when the Internet keeps cutting out. On our last day we asked for late checkout since our sessions didn’t end until 11:15. They very reluctantly gave us 11:30 when I know others staying here got 12:00 when they asked the previous day. Don’t make excuses to your guests, be a problem solver and make it work!

I flew into Charleston for a trade show and had to call the hotel for a shuttle. Once there, my room was not ready so I had to wait in the reception area. The rooms were clean but not really any views of Charleston. The best part about this hotel was the free nightly happy hour and breakfast. Those two amenities made up for the wait for my room.

I had an accident in route to embassy suites this am. They actually sent an courtesy van to see if I was ok and if I needed a ride. So nice.

My wife and I stayed here for a convention paid for by my employer. Since we didn’t have to pay out of pocket for the room our expectations of the experience were initially indifferent. I have to say I would pay full price to stay here again. Our room was clean and large. The furniture was very comfortable and there were two flat screen tv’s. All the service we experienced was courteous and polite. Every question we asked about the building or locations around the area to visit were answered promptly and with enough information to prevent the need to ask a follow up question. I didn’t eat any of the food there using their room service option but I have to say that their complimentary breakfast with their cook to order omelets was amazing! And their happy hour had good beer options and snacks. I wouldn’t argue with the quality of their complimentary meals and drinks. My wife and I could stay here for an extended time and feel comfortable spending most of our time in the room. My only issue was the fact that they don’t offer free internet to non-members and their pay-per view channel charges nearly the same amount as it would cost to see a film in the theater.

I want to start by saying that I travel often and I have stayed at a few Embassy Suites in different cities. This hotel was booked by our Family Reunion committee, so prior to my arrival, I contacted the hotel to inquiry about shuttle service from the airport and to the downtown area. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hospitality increased when I arrived. My shuttle driver who picked me up at the airport was a wealth of information. He informed me about the complimentary evening appetizers and breakfast. I was glad to hear about both. The staff also told me about local public transportation and this came in handy during the weekend. Check-in was quick and easy and when I saw my room, I was pleased — it was spacious and clean. I decided once I got settled to check out the managers reception(complimentary drinks and cheese/crackers, hummus, and tortilla chips. It was a great and a nice way for the family to meet and greet before the official family activities began. The staff were attentive and so nice with all the chaos going on(During my stay-three family reunions and a large church convention) to maintain good customer service when large groups are involved. Overall, the experience was Outstanding! I would recommend this hotel to everyone if this is a convenient place for you to stay. If you don’t drive — Über Car Service Is Available and they were provided great service too! Side Note: Tanger Outlet Mall is 2 Minutes Away — Hotel Shuttle will drive you there and you can call for a pick-up when done.

Bed bugs. My husband is covered in bites and he was there for 3nights. When he called them to let them know the manager apologized and offered 1night stay. Uh… I don’t think Its worth another night with bugs eating us while we sleep. Gross

We stayed here Saturday night to Monday morning last week for my boyfriend’s cousin’s wedding. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised! The layout inside is typical of Embassy suites(see pics). We had a suite — 2 double beds in the room, one roll-out sofa. Nothing bad, nothing spectacular. The things that stood out the very most to me were — 1. The beautiful ballroom(we stayed in the hotel for a wedding. The wedding and reception were in the same venue, where the convention center is.) 2. Happy Hour. FREE happy hour in the main lobby from 5:30−7 daily. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Not I. Not til this place. Granted it’s not top shelf but who would expect that anyway. Dollar tips and happy sips! 3. Breakfast was amazing.(See my pic.) probably the best of Hotel breakfast that I’ve ever had. It’s a breakfast buffet of pancakes, French toast, eggs, home fries, fruits, cereal, juices, milk, coffee, yogurt, pastries, AND an omelet bar where they make customized omelets to order! 4. Towels. This may seem like a minute detail but I LOVE hotels with towels that aren’t stiff or extra bleached, these were just… clean! Their towels were all newer and I just loved it! Another plus — this place is close to many things, even Walmart. AND right across the street from Tanger Outlets. Yay! I’m a fan of this place and would definitely recommend it to others!

My husband and I chose this hotel because the hotels downtown were insanely expensive. We much rather would have stayed down there but we ended up saving a ton so it was worth it to us. The rooms are quite large and clean, which was nice. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. They offer breakfast included in the rate which is almost inedible but free so there’s that. Tip: stick with fruit and cereal, the cooked food might actually make you sick. The walls between the rooms are quite thin so you do tend to hear a lot of what is going on with other people. A lot of families stayed here, probably because it’s more affordable and we heard a lot of children. They might have a shuttle that goes down town, but don’t hold me to that. My husband and I drove into downtown. The hotel does have a parking lot which is included in your stay. Overall, my husband and I were happy with our choice because we ended up saving over $ 100 by staying here.

It’s a standard Embassy Suites… Maybe even above average. It’s a good location for the convention center or outlet malls. Otherwise you better rent a car. If your stranded car-less at a convention it’s a great location! Close to the airport! Plenty of ‘off campus’ food and shopping options within a mile.

The room we are in smells of cat pee. The floor is gross. The beds are small and uncomfortable. They charge $ 3 for a bottle of water in the room. I paid the $ 3 because they also have regular glasses instead of individually packaged disposable cups and I will not use a real glass at a hotel(and you shouldn’t either). I woke up this morning feeling disgusting. I will never stay here again. And they charge for local calls. Seriously? What hotel does that anymore?!

Harold’s Hotel Happy Hour is the best well known secret ever! Can I say I’m a big fan of this place? Anyone staying here get’s to have free Happy Hour! From like 5:30pm to 7:30 pm. Yes it’s two whole hours and there’s snack food included. There’s no choice for the beer on tap but they did have Miller Lite on this night in particular. I try to get there as often as I can as they are so good to me. BTW: dont’ forget to Tip. Just because it’s free doesn’t mean the bartender is working for free as well. After all it’s not like it’s self service.

I arrived around 9pm, the front desk staff is a bit novice. Beautiful lobby. the rooms are big, beds small. Maybe full size but definitely not queen size! Not at all plush. heres the kicker, there is NO free wifi in the room! You have to pay 9.95 per day, per device. This is not the dark ages. Even the HOJO has free wifi. Free wifi is available in the lobby… thats like 100 strikes aganist you. The breakfast was what saved this hotel. HOTFOOD. And you can also get it made to order. Eggs are terrible.
