I scheduled an appointment at the last minute so I was happy that the woman on the phone said that they could accommodate me the very next day. I explained that I wanted«cornrow tree braids with the hair coming out». I’m new to town and this style is not popular here so I asked her if she knew what I was talking about and she said ‘yes’. When I finally arrived(a customer in the shop gave me directions over the phone on how to get there since I couldn’t find it) I was told that my hair had to be permed for treebaids lol. When I said I got them before and it was fine, they insisted that it wouldn’t look nice. When I asked about ghana braids they also said I needed a perm for it to look nice. I thought she was joking so I showed her a picture of the tree braids that I wanted. She said that that style was not called tree braids and that they called it something else. They did not want to do that style and offered to do crochet. At this point I just wanted my hair done so I said sure do crochet. I reminded the lady that braided my hair to do a pattern where two braids joined on the crown of the head. She had to take one cornrow out since I guess they just braid the hair straight back. Also she added hair to the braids on one side of my head but did not add hair to the other side. It resulted in me having 7 braids on one side of my head and 4 braids on the other side. I asked if that would result in my hair looking looking fuller on one side than on the other. The stylist said that she could make it even on both sides. Fine. Weird but okay. When she was done I was tired and annoyed so I paid and left. The style is so amateur. They are definitely not professionals in this style and I hate that I paid for something my little sister could have done. I hope that the stylist educates herself and staff of braid patterns and techniques for crochet. Also, I hope that they do not braid one half of the the next client’s head with weave and the other half without; more braids one side than the other because I promise you they won’t let it go like I did. When you are being paid for a service please do it right. I hope that more than one type of crochet hair is available at the salon before the customer is told that they don’t have to bring hair, then when the customer doesn’t prefer that hair, they have to leave and go get hair they want. I hope that the stylist knows how to distribute the hair on the head and not use big pieces and just try to tie them tight just because the hair is curly and you know that curl pattern will cover the big, loose knots. The two stars are not for my hair style. They are for the 2 hair styles I saw on other customers. The faux locks were nice and the goddess braids were pretty. The single micros on the lady that came in were lazily done and I hope it’s clear I feel about my style. I will look for another shop. And to the shop owner — Je comprends le français. Je ris presque quand on m’a dit«vous voir la prochaine fois. «Merci pour les insultes.
