All My Sons Moving & Storage of Charleston

The move was delayed due to the heavy rains and flooding. But it was rescheduled that same week and the move went smoothly. All three gentlemen who moved my belongings were prompt, courteous and efficient. It was an out of state move so both the movers and I had to travel through the I-​95 detour, but all went well.

Horrible experience with this moving company. We used them to move out of a one bedroom apartment on the first floor to a house about ten minutes away. We were scheduled for an afternoon window between 1 and 3. They didn’t show up until after 7pm. We waited for hours and when they arrived they were exhausted. The company sent an extra guy saying that would help move it faster and to make up for being extremely late. It didn’t. The third guy hardly did anything. The guys had been working since 7am. We felt sorry for them, but they still didn’t seem motivated to get the job done quickly and efficiently. The company should have sent a different group after they had been working so long and shouldn’t have stood us up for hours!
The experience continued to go downhill. When their truck arrived, they sat there for about ten to fifteen minutes before getting out and then charged us starting at the time they pulled up even though they weren’t doing anything. Once they got started, the pace was extremely slow, and keep in mind we were paying by the hour and really didn’t have much in the way of furniture. We only had a small to average amount for a 750sf apartment. One of the movers then proceeded to plastic wrap our sofa. This was completely unnecessary to go down the street! This ate up a huge chunk of time and we didn’t ask them to do that. I’m sure the extra time is the point of this, not to mention the hidden wrap and pack charge they don’t tell you about until the end. They also broke a piece of furniture by wrapping it. An over the toilet cabinet, which because it has particle board, they won’t cover any damages. This really didn’t need wrapping either and all three guys stopped to take the time to wrap it and broke it doing so.
My husband and I also carried half of the items in the apartment out to the curb by the truck because it was taking so long. Two hours later we made it to the house and at that point we asked them to leave everything but the furniture in the garage because things were moving so slowly. They finally finished, three hours and fifteen minutes later. They also charged us for the extra fifteen even though they didn’t start until about that much time after they pulled up. It just dragged and I have had other. movers in the past and have done it myself many times. It wasn’t what we expected when paying professionals over $ 100 an hour to do the job. They were slow, probably because they were exhausted and unnecessary wrapping added time, too. By the time they called in the move we kept hearing more and more numbers.
If you don’t like hidden charges, don’t use this company. They charge more than the average going rate for the time, and they took their time, no sense of urgency. They also charge about $ 100 for the truck/​fuel. There is also a wrap and pack fee, about $ 50 dollars, and they then charge a 10% fee on top of the total amount of everything else. It cost us $ 550 to move from our one bedroom apartment! The only thing I will give them is that they were careful to not damage the house, but that came at a high price, a long wait, and damaged furniture. I would give no stars if I could.

Moving can be stressful, but All My Sons does a great job of removing stress from your life. They explain what the charges will be, confirm the dates, show up on time, work efficiently, and get the job done. I would definitely use them again in the future.
