I don’t think I’ve ever given a 1 star before. I’ve been going here for years. It’s really gone down hill since the redesign. Bad service and worse good that is now overpriced. Got the $ 6 hogie tonight and it was burnt and had only 5 pieces of pizza sized pepperonis. When we asked what happened the waitress said she was sorry and that it sometimes happens. The«chef» tried to say that’s how she’s been making it for years. Sorry to the family that once owned this place but your grand daughter has ruined it.

I am so sad to only give«mama’s» 2 stars. My family has been going here for over 20 years. Last night we ordered dinner to go. First, the order was wrong. We got spaghetti when we ordered rigatoni, not a huge deal. 2nd the meatballs were raw on the inside, threw those away. 3rd the sauce was a mix between ketchup and canned plain sauce. No one finished their meal. The salads were very small. Just so disappointing. Yes the interior is very nice now but the food has suffered.

Stopped by for a quick lunch today rather than go up Main Street to one of the franchises. What a mistake. The sign out on the road says they do catering so I figured they could handle a carry out order. Another big mistake. When I entered the place, no one even cared I was there once they found out I wanted to do a carry out order. Also, the waitress was training someone and that was more important than waiting on a customer. At that point, I should have walked and gone up Main Street to franchise heaven where ya gives em your money and they gives you your food with no hassle. I ordered an Italian Hoagie to go and it was good but very very messy and not put together at all. I had more ingredients left in the styrofoam container that fell out of the bun than the ingredients that went into my stomach. In addition, they didn’t even bother to put a napkin in the bag even though they knew they were giving me a sloppy sandwich. The lunch crowd they cater to are folks with walkers and wheelchairs who don’t mind spending half a day to get a submarine sandwich. So, if you are in a hurry, go to any of the franchises around on Main Street for fast service. I waited nearly 40 minutes for a submarine sandwich with no customers in the place. Three parties came in after me and the only food I saw come out of the kitchen in the 4o minutes I was standing there was an order of garlic bread.

The place has been remodeled and extended. The new remodel includes booths for a cozy feeling. The salad was sad. All it included was lettuce, one cucumber slice and croutons. A little cheese and more veggies would’ve made it much better. The creamy Italian dressing delicious. We ordered the eggplant parmesan meal. It was really good but could’ve been better if they had offered us shredded parmesan cheese over it. The little things that are missing would have made this a 5 star experience. The service, atmosphere and food are good.

My fiancé and I chose to have dinner here tonight as we were in the area and he said they have great food. When we pulled into the parking lot at 630pm I told him they must not be that great because they weren’t too busy. We walked in, a few waitresses looked at us and finally a woman in an apron(assuming a manager) told us to chose a booth towards the back. We were served our drinks immediately and places our order; the Chicken Parmesan, the special for today. I ordered mine with a side of fettuccine Alfredo as a substitute of spaghetti marinara. I verified with our waitress that it would come on the side with red sauce only on the chicken. We waited about ten minutes before salads or bread was served to us. We no sooner poured the dressing on our salads and our food came out by a different waitress. She asked if we had just gotten our salads, to which we said yes. She put our plates down anyways. I advised that I had ordered fettuccine Alfredo as my pasta side, she said she would have the kitchen fix it. About ten minutes later she showed up with another dish for me… but still no Alfredo sauce, just fettuccine noodles with red sauce. I told her that my order was STILL wrong. She offered to take it back, I told her no and let her know I wasn’t going to eat it and I wasn’t going to pay for it. We asked for the bill and that prompted someone to say something to the kitchen about getting the order wrong again and then more workers were talking aloud of the issue. We paid our bill and the kid offered a bunch of excuses as to why the order was wrong(a server called off and he couldn’t be in the kitchen to train them, blah blah blah). He offered to write us a coupon for next time to which I promptly told him we would never return. Terrible service and if you get your order right the food didn’t look that amazing anyways. I’m happily enjoying a burger from Wendy’s at home now. So much for a nice dinner with my hubby to be.

My girlfriend told me this restaurant is a great place to eat. It used to be her favorite Italian restaurant 5 years ago. It used to serve authentic fresh homemade Italian food. Our first impression was not good because the parking lot was empty at lunch time. We were the only customers there! The staff was decent and friendly. As we were waiting on our food, we read the history of Mama G. «never frozen, always fresh» was written. My girlfriend ordered fettuccine Alfredo which comes with salad, and I ordered chicken parmesan which comes with soup. I chose Italian Wedding soup. The soup was not what I expected. The meatballs were hamburger, should have Italian sausage and spices. It was disgusting, and bland. This is not wedding soup as they claimed to be! The price of the fettucini alfredo was the same price as Olive Garden chicken fettuccini alfredo. There was no chicken in it for the price of $ 8. As we were sprinkling Parmesan cheese for some flavor, we noticed there was mold on the bottom of the Parmesan shaker. We immediately stop eating and showed the waitress. She immediately picked up the food and apologised. She offered to bring out fresh plates. We we’re already grossed out at this point. All of the sudden the waitress forgot our forks. Now we are very irritated and disappointed. The manager said that they change their Parmesan shakers every week. We both know that it takes longer than a week to grow mold in the shakers. The chicken parmesan tasted freezer burnt and old. I spoke to another staff member that works there and ask her how they prepare their chicken parmesan because it tasted frozen not fresh. She replied that the chicken parmesan came from a different source that came frozen and all they do is heat it up in the microwave. I didn’t even finish my lunch or my girlfriend finish her lunch. The waitress came back and asked if everything tasted okay. I said are you serious? The food was nasty and she said I know. I was very surprised that the manager did not comp our food. Needless to say we will never ever ever go back to that place again! We would rate 0 stars if it was possible! Now we are taking tums and trying to feel better because it ruined the rest of the day!

Love Mama Guzzardi’s! I have been coming here for years, since I was in high school… The red sauce is so flavorful and delicious, and I could drink the salad dressing it is by far my favorite anywhere around! The portions are good for the price, try the chef salad if you are looking for something lighter, it’s delicious, also the stuffed shells are probably the best thing on the menu in my opinion! Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the meatballs, I love meatballs with my pasta and the past couple times I got them they were hard as a rock, meatballs should be moist, and easy to cut into with a fork like butter… not hard and packed so tight you can’t cut it. I go back, and will continue to!

We have been to Mama G’s more times than I can remember. It has been 6 or so months since I have last eaten here. We arrived and they had remodeled the place, it looked great. Long story short the service was POOR and the food was just ok. One person in our party ordered the special which he was told they were out. 10 minutes later, another waitress called over to the kitchen to ask if they had any of the specials left and they said 1(wish our waitress could have done that for us…) We had a table of 6 and usually they will bring two or three bowl of garlic bread over then keep it coming but this was not the case. We received 1 piece for each person and asked two or three times for more bread. I finally said something to our waitress about never have received the bread and she went back and complained to the rest of the staff, one of which came over and let me know why we had not received any bread yet(they had to put a ticket in and also they had to serve the bread that was coming out with the salads that were going out to tables) and we also had to dodge the dirty glares of the servers for the remainder of our family dinner. Finally it arrived when we were finished with our dinner… The garlic bread used to be served crisp/warm and it was served half baked, soggy and barely edible. We are not planning to return.

Please notice the older dates on the less than positive reviews preceding mine. Mama Guzzardi’s Italian Restaurant was recently voted«Best Pasta» in the survey by The Canton Repository and for good reason. In business almost 30 years, Mama works there and her granddaghter, Lori manages the kitchen and dining rooms. Lori told us they specialize in baked ziti so we ordered that and it was the best I’ve had in the area. Trying to accomodate the trend toward healthier eating, the menu features pasta primavera and Italian baked fish. They are open every day but Tuesday and meals there won’t break the bank. A very affordable and friendly place for lunch or dinner, I am impressed by the consistency of the food. They maintained their quality on subsequent visits.

I wanted to give this a better review since you can tell it’s a small family restaurant. However, when I go out for Italian food and wind up feeling that I could have made a better meal at home out of a jar… The restaurant is small and very dated looking inside. I could overlook this if the food was great. That was not my experience. It’s all in the sauce and theirs was very bland and mediocre with my rigatoni. My salad was pretty boring as well. The staff seemed very pleasant and our server was as well & attentive. It’s just that the food was very uninspiring.

This was not a horrible restaurant. The staff was friendly. It has an ambiance to it. The food was not the most amazing thing I’ve ever had. The soups were only ok. The same with the main courses. I’ve had better. I’ve had worse. I’m not wanting to go back, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t go back.

If you want authentic Italian cuisine, this is not the place for you. If you want authentic Americanized Italian cuisine, step right up! Came here for lunch with my wife and mother-in-law. The service and food were great. I had the Hoagie Deluxe which was a good size and the ladies both got a pasta dish which were very good with extra compliments made about the meatballs. The desserts were decent, but I wouldn’t order them again. We did this time because we were trying to fit a minimum order amount due to a coupon. Mama Guzzardi is one of the restaurants that are on , so you can get cheap«gift certificates» especially when has a sale. I got a $ 25 certificate for $ 3.50.

I’m mixed about this place. The wedding soup was fantastic but my «baked» ziti was ridiculous… and not in a good way. It was ziti with meat sauce with a big blob of cheese melted on top of it. The cheese wasn’t browned so I question how it was melted. The meatballs were room temperature and the pasta next to it was mysteriously room temperature too. The food was good but I was disappointed with the weird temperature variation. I’m not going to say microwave but…

Mama Guzzardi’s Italian Restaurant is authentic home cooked Italian full of yummy goodness. It’s a nice little two-room family restaurant with walls lined with mostly black and white photos of the Guzzardi family going back several generations. Mama opened the restaurant in 1986 with her own recipes and the family has been making her homemade meals for the public ever since. We were seated right away in the back of the second dining room. The menu is pretty sparse but has all the staples of good Italian dining. With nothing over $ 10, three of us barely spent $ 35 and had plenty to take home for later. I typically have trouble deciding what I want, battling between something that looks like a familiar love or inviting a new entrée to join the party in my tummy. This time I was deciding between the Chip Steak Deluxe and the Fettuccine Alfredo. I enlisted the help of our waitress, Lori. I barely got out the words«chip steak» before she cut me off with a «have that! That’s my favorite.» Soon to be joining the party in my tummy was a sub sandwich that contained«fresh thin sliced rib Eye steak with our Homemade meat sauce, sauteed green peppers, sauteed onions, sauteed mushrooms, topped with melted cheese.» I love a good philly cheesesteak and this seemed to be right up that alley. We enjoyed our salads and some extremely crispy garlic bread(I like mine slightly chewy.) In the midst of some nice dinner conversation, I spotted what looked like a mound of gooey, noodly, meaty cheese on someone else’s plate. I wanted that. The Chip Steak I ordered was good, but I had to return the following day to get the Baked Ziti. There was enough cheese on my Ziti to make a cheese covered grilled cheese sandwich jealous. And it was delicious. The Olive Garden may have bottomless salads, but they got nothing on Mama Guzzardi’s. Hands down the best Italian food I’ve ever had the privilege of digesting.
