Every time I have come to this café the food has been different– same item, differently prepared. Needs more consistency in food prep. This wouldn’t usually bother me too much, but today I also found a dead caterpillar in my salad. A caterpillar. Wash your food better.

Service is slow, food is ok. The gentlemen, seems like a manager in his 40s or 50s at the front usually, seems more interested on hitting on and flirting with ladies then doing his job the right way the first time. Wont ever be returning. They dont deserve my patronage.

I was so hopeful for this place, but it had gotten steadily worse. Paninnis are greasy, sandwich meat is low quality., orders are always wrong. If you have a to go order, check it before you leave. I give up. …this is my last visit

I really wanted to love this place. I went with my gf and ordered a thanksgiving sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. Despite the picture showing thick slices of real Turkey I received cold cuts cold turkey in heavy mayo/sauce. The broccoli soup was very salty and tasted like straight heavy cream. My gf ended up getting sick after eating her sandwich and soup the whole night. I will not return, will stick with Panera instead.

I have definitely not checked in at Corner Bakery as often as we go there. It’s one of our stand-by places when we want some yummy food. I’m not sure if this is accurate, but it seems like Corner Bakery opened last year while my wife was pregnant. We visited a couple times and really liked it. We planned a home-birth for our bundle of joy, so we had discussed the idea of having some catering done for the midwives(and ourselves) for the time when my wife was in labor and shortly afterward. On almost zero notice one of the managers was able to put together a catering order for us and delivered it to our house personally! I think I called at 10am and the food was at our house by 3pm. As others have said, the restaurant is spotless and always clean. The food is really yummy, too. When they say something will be spicy, it’s actually spicy, not just kind of spicy. The baked goods are amazing, too. I’m kind of addicted to the maple pecan bars, and my wife fluctuates between the brownies and the mini lava cakes. They also have a salad trip that lets you sample a few of their salads at once. Definitely a good option for trying several things at once. The staff is universally friendly and accommodating. You want X salad with your order instead of Y salad that’s supposed to come with it? Sure — we can do that! Whenever my wife and I can’t decide where to go for lunch, one of us will always look at the other and say, «Corner Bakery»? The other almost always replies with, «Yeeaaahhh…»

They really need to work on their food service. It’s super clean in here and the tables are bussed quickly, but it shouldn’t take 20 minutes to make a sandwich. Ordered my food at 3:02pm. Got it at 3:22pm. The order naturally was wrong. Asked for no Mayo on the sandwich. Mine had mayo on it. Got the half sandwich back and it was missing bacon. Got the SAME sandwich back with literally two pieces of greasy bacon laid onto it. Also, why is my Mac and Cheese spicy and why does it smell like curry in here? I’m over it. There are at least 7 workers here and yet they can’t get an order right? Never coming back here.

It is always a good idea to review a newly established place after they had time to work out the kinks. But unfortunately this is not the case. My family and I previously had great experiences coming to this location since the food was pretty good and it was new(compared to Panera). The biggest disappointment I have with this location is the fact that their consistency is all over the map. Soup comes with bread yet they frequently don’t put it in. Often times salad ingredients were missing yet they do not inform the customers. Out of the last 10 visits, 6 of them were not up to par. It is a shame since the food is pretty good and the staff is very friendly. But in this day an age, when all ingredients are listed, consistency should not be an issue. Unless they fix these issues, my family and I will take our business elsewhere.

I was in the area for business, and was recommended this place by one of my clients. I went for lunch and found myself ordering from a very eclectic menu, however, I didn’t enjoy a thing I ordered. I had a panini and pasta, and I couldn’t have been more disappointed. The panini had 3 small slices of very processed lunch meat, which I didn’t find to be remotely adequate. The rest of the sandwich was piping hot and everything was over cooked including the tomatoes. The pasta was flavorless and bland, and once again, the chicken was nearly non-existent in the dish. Not only wouldn’t I recommend any of the food that I sampled, I would recommend not drinking from their soda station as well. The syrup to water ratio was so off that I couldn’t finish a sip of it. I recommend going somewhere else in that area. The quality is extremely poor of the food, and prices aren’t comparable.

I absolutely loved it here. I ordered the chocolate chip cookie and baked potato soup. Both were so fresh and hot! Unlike Panera where when you get soup it’s not cold, I got hot good soup. There are so many options of foods and and treats. I definitely will be back because there are so many things on the menu I would like to try.

My panini isn’t grilled at all. So in addition to it not tasting good, it’s almost impossible to pick up because the bread is just soggy and greasy. And of course there isn’t hardly any chicken in it. And they took 20 minutes to give me uncooked food when it wasn’t even busy. I gave them one chance and they were a huge disappointment. I grabbed one of their menus on my way out thinking«maybe next time I can call in my order so I’m not waiting forever.» Yeah, there will never be a next time. Nothing annoys me more than disappointing food. Ugh!

Our visit a few mo the earlier we really enjoyed everything about Corner Bakery, on our recent visit we found the place to be dirty and waited almost 30 minutes with only three other tables seated. After almost 30 minutes of waiting our order arrives at our table wrong and the manager challenges us that it’s not their mistake we don’t understand what Steak bread was and that it’s loaded with seeds. Yep our bad, so to insure we never make another mistake ordering at CB we won’t be returning!!!

Came in for a cup of coffee as an alternative to Starbucks. I thought a «bakery» would have good/better coffee. All the coffees they had out were each more than 4 hours old(they use Fetco brewers, and each of the urns have 4 sets of 4 «pie wedges» that add up to an hour per pie. All 4 pies were full and flashing which means VERYOLDCOFFEE!) I asked for coffee that wasn’t old and they looked offended. Nobody apologized for making me wait for fresh coffee, and nobody offered any credit or anything to make up for the inconvenience. When the coffee finally finished brewing, the coffee had a ton of grounds. It also tasted as if they brewed a new half batch right in to the very old and cold batch that was already in the urn! Really bad first impression!

The food here is pretty good. I’ve had a couple of different sandwiches and they were tasty. Both visits were for takeout. My order was taken very quickly, but the wait-time for my order was fairly long. Both times, one of the attendants had to go in the kitchen to find my food… Also, I can’t understand why an establishment that sells breakfast would open so late in the suburbs. 8am is pretty late. Luckily, Panera is right across the street and they open 2 hours before them…

This is a 4 due to me getting an ice cold scrambled eggs meal today. It took way too long and the manager knew it. And the toast was ice cold and had way too much butter. I’ve gone here before and more difficult meals took way less time. I like the menu and the food and will go back. If the next three meals are not cold I will remove this part of the review. This place is similar to Panera, except minus the indifferent service and delay. People bring the food right to your table. They also have a breakfast menu. I wasn’t crazy about the tuna, and didn’t like how they made toast, but everything else has been lovely. They have a lot of soups, every day. Check out their menu online, it’s bound to have something you want:

I did give this 5 stars for the super cool fireplace that we sat next to while in comfy armchairs, delicious food that was so inexpensive that I felt like we stole something, and friendly staff. Had the banana walnut pancakes, with eggs, and bacon for under $ 10. Will return and soon!

I agree with the general consensus that the Corner Bakery Café is better than Panera, Au Bön Pain, and all other similar types of establishments. If I were shopping in this plaza and wanted a decent bite to eat at a reasonable price in a comfy setting, Corner Bakery Café would more than suffice. This was my first trip here the other day and I ordered the Kale Caesar salad. Hoping to get an all-Kale salad, I was disappointed to find it was a Kale-Romaine blend. I think they screwed up the order because the blend is an option.(That or they were low on kale.) Whatever the case, it was a decent salad. I appreciated that it was lightly dressed and not drenched, and the dressing of course was your typical run-of-the-mill supermarket Caesar dressing. Add in a healthy dose of crunchy croutons and shredded pecorino and you get a pretty salty salad, which some may enjoy as it helps hold up against the more bitter kale. I also tried a cup of the chicken noodle soup, which was fine, but not much different than you’d find in a cafeteria or Wawa. In general, with so many great mom and pop sandwich shops and delis around, I don’t think I’d ever make the Corner Bakery Café a destination. Everything at these places just feels a bit too processed and mass produced to leave you feeling like you’re eating a real meal made with love. But more than fine if you’re already in the area and looking for a quick bite to eat. ________ 6÷5÷2015 Update: The Asian Pork Sandwich is bangin’. Highly recommend.

I stopped by this place yesterday, just looking for a quick sandwich to go, figuring it was a close alternative to Panera. I’m so tired of Panera– tired of the messed up orders, sloppily served meals, bland food, kids running amuck everywhere and general stickiness. While the concept behind both these cafes are the same, the quality and ambiance of this place is so much better! It’s a brand new chain which I speculate someone(someone who totally gets me!) started because they were fed up with the old Panera scheme. This place has coffee, sandwiches, soups, coffee cakes, misc desserts and pastries and breakfast. The food looks and tastes much fresher and more«artisan» than I expected. I had a few questions about the menu and the cashier had quick intelligent answers that he didn’t need to consult with a manager for. He knew the menu and made recommendations and overall had great customer service. They also bring the food over to you instead of you standing by the counter which was unexpectedly pleasant. There is ample seating and the ambiance is more plush and richer feeling that Panera– more up my alley. Wifi is free. Coffee is unlimited when your dining in. They also have a work bench area perfect for a working lunch. Plenty of vegetarian options. I ordered my meal to go, and it was packed perfectly with all necessary components, utensils, napkins, etc. I did go during off peak hours so my wait time was minimal. Pricing is similar to Panera as well but I feel like this is more worth it for the money. A great place to study and get food– I almost didn’t want to write a review so I can keep this place to myself! Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

An excellent and cozy alternative to Starbucks or Panera Bread for breakfast options in this area. There are plenty of lunch choices available in the North Brunswick Plaza and the neighboring center which is anchored by Barnes and Noble. However, Panera Bread and Starbucks have served as the sole options for something close to real breakfast. I knew Corner Bakery Café would be good when I saw pancakes on the menu. I ordered the Smoked Bacon and Cheddar Panini which exceeded my expectations. The Baker’s Blend coffee was hot, flavorful, and strong. Corner Bakery Café has table service, another great option. I was able to sit down and begin working, rather than waiting in line like cattle. As an added bonus, there is a work bar stocked with plenty of outlets for people who have to work during their meals. Those who are more laidback can enjoy their food in front of the fireplace, a nice addition for the winter.
