Great place! Sign looks old(they should change it!) but atmosphere is great, nice bar, good tap selections and great service. Food was bland but good. Filet mignon wasn’t as tender as expected and everything needed salt. We will definitely be back. Don’t be fooled by the«retro» sign!

Had the deep fried shrimp. Very greasy and very few shrimp. Should have read reviews BEFORE we chose this location. Conveniently off freeway. First and last time to eat there. Get the Tums ready!

I want to refrain from rating with one star. I will leave 3. and I will change my rating after I have tested out this new information. I have had the cod basket twice and a burger once. My first visit I had the cod… when I first moved there. The breading is soggy oily and falling off and the cod is slimey… I did not enjoy it. Nor the wait staff. not happy to serve… or happy to work there it seems. Next visit I had a burger. Feb 2016 after basketball tournaments my aunt wanted to go there. I tried the cod again. Same exact way. Breading is falling off drenched in oil cod slimey … batter not cooked all the way. The owner was there and did not charge me for the cod and told me that this is not how they should be cooking it and I can ask for less breading… So until I test her advice that they really can cook… I do not want to leave a horrible review… even though it has been my experience with the food and service. She was very nice however and so I would like to give her a retry. After that I will leave the correct star rating though… yes it is the cooks job to know how to cook but this town is limited to what’s available around here… high schoolers who do not care because they are not eating it? The owner wants good food to go out… but can it happen? That is my next mission. I am scared– it was 2 years apart from 1 bad cod basket to the next. Same exact problem… is it a fluke? Or no…

This place was good… before it burned down Ike 20 years ago. Perkins quality food at higher prices, I’ve never enjoyed going here and haven’t ever gotten food that wasn’t heavy and greasy.

Waitress was rude & incompetent the drink I ordered was billed as two separate drinks. The chicken in my fajita was very bland but the green peppers and onions were greasy. Waited 15 mins for a seat by the bar while the regular dining room was empty. We were the only people waiting to be seated.

This place at least tries to please you. They only have 4 beers on tap. The bartender seems nice and is a hard worker. She likes tattoos!

TYPICALHOMETOWNBAR&GRILL I’ve been coming here for years, and have had different experiences. The décor is very«campy», and has your eyes constantly moving to take it all in. I still don’t understand the southwestern motif ?? One thing I do know : This place needs a DEEPCLEAN !!! Service has been hit or miss, customer service is Not a priority for sure. As far as the food, I have never been truly disappointed, but not wowed either. However, when I first went there I always ordered the steak quesadilla, made with real steak. YUMYUMYUMMMMM But alas, that tender juicy steak started coming out as «all day chewing meat». Today I had the daily special of a turkey cheeseburger. It was VERY juicy and tasty, and it was special ! I even subbed French onion soup instead of fries, for only a $ 1 upcharge. I got a huge bowl, with croutons instead of a slice of bread on top which was perfect as I was on a date and didn’t have to struggle with cutting the bread/cheese topping. It was a little strong, and a tad chemically tasting, but hey, this isn’t exactly fine dining. It hit the spot on a cold January day. As for the $ 2.99 breakfast specials, what do you expect? The best part of the Oak Inn for me is that I met a great guy there that I ended up dating for 6 months. THELADIESROOMISCOLDERTHAN A WELLDIGGER’S A___!!!

If you liked over cooked bland food then this is the place for you. Ordered my steak sandwich medium. was well done. The kids burgers were dry and crumbly. My fiancé couldn’t finish her chicken because it was so dry. Our first and last time here

The week day breakfast specials are not as good as one would hope. The service lacks. I’ve had a couple lunches in the bar that were OK. The bonus is wifi. It was better before it burned down and they rebuilt years and years ago. Not a place I frequent.

The tables were kind of dirty, my food(grilled ham and cheese. meh. The sweet potato tots. I wouldn’t recommend). No good beers on tap(boo). Our party of 15? was seated right away and had pretty good service. I’d rather go someplace else. Maybe if they got rid of the communal shelled peanut buckets I’d think better of them.

If you’re a person who likes to speak in sentences longer than 4 – 5 speedy words at a time, then Wednesday nights at The Oak Inn are definitely not for you. You see, Wednesday night is Bingo night and that means a looooonnnng marathon evening of multiple kinds of Bingo with amplified sound to make sure that each and every diner hears each and every number called. Not exactly a recipe for quality dining conversation. Also, if you’re a person whose baseline temperature runs around 98.6 degrees fahrenheit, and you insist upon eating here, I recommend you bring your down jacket, cause it was freaking freezing in here in the middle of the summer. Lastly, unless you have some sort of rare health condition that requires you to eat as much greasy, fatty food as you can, then you’re gonna probably want to avoid this place, as nearly everything is fried. On the positive: Waitress was nice. Burger was tasty(but greasy). Like the neighborhoody feel of the place. In short, if you are an underweight, overheated individual who is training to be an auctioneer, than this may be your perfect training ground. Otherwise, I’d say this place may be one to miss.

Basically a sports bar so don’t expect much from the food. My daughter’s burger was just about burnt. My cod basket was pretty greasy and the fries were ho-hum. My wife had about one slice of meat on her reuben sandwich. Affordable. Pretty much on the level of a Perkins or Denny’s, except you’re spending the money on a local establishment.
