Michael’s Auto Center Of North Bend

Michael is really awesome!!! I had a headlight out on my car and couldn’t get to it on my own. I asked a coworker but he couldn’t get to it either. In steps Michael! I called him just before 5pm and he said he couldn’t get to it that day but I could drop it off since different makes and model cars require different ways a getting to the bulb and he would need to keep it. Well, just like most people I work and need my car to get there and back. I happened to live on North Bend and work in Snoqualmie and Michael said he can take to work and pick me up when he was done!!! And he just that!!! How awesome is that?! Any maintenance on my car will be done by him!!!

Last Saturday we headed east to get to the mountains… but my battery light went on about 15 minutes away from North Bend. Thinking that it was likely the alternator and that a 150 mile drive into a remote area was not a great idea, we reluctantly bailed on our plans and stopped at the Safeway to try to find a mechanic. Michael’s was one of the first to pop up (due in part to the great reviews) and I gave him a call — not only did he answer the phone 30 minutes before they officially opened, but they managed to fit me into an already busy day. Turns out it was a bad electrical connection between the alternator and the battery. They soldered the connection, didn’t try to gouge us on cost or solution even though we were very clearly NOT mechanically savvy, and were professional and super friendly throughout the entire process. They didn’t have a rental car for us at the time but had a comfy waiting area with the college football games on to pass the time.
I’ve never found a good mechanic that I could rely on and am so happy to have found Michael’s. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I am not sure how to thank Michael and Larry for fixing my 4Runner so that we could get back on the road. Larry was able to make a custom pipe to fit the brake as there was no factory part available locally. He did such an exceptional job and I would highly recommend this shop. Michael also took this time to make sure the repair went smoothly and I could get back on the road. I can’t believe this all happened on Saturday.

Fantastic customer service! We had a faulty break lamp while on a road trip. Found this place, got the problem fixed and back on the road in a jiffy!

Thank you Michael’s, for taking such good care of six young men when their fuel pump went out on way to Mt. Si. If my car ever breaks down, I hope it’s in North Bend.

Superior service; Michael went above and beyond for our family. We were traveling with a baby and travel trailer and halfway into our drive, we discovered a cracked radiator. Michael moved cars to accommodate our huge trailer, stayed on the phone with us to make sure we didn’t get lost, came outside and waved us in, rushed a radiator on from Seattle, and gave us a loaner car so we were able to get lunch. He charged us the quoted price even though it actually took longer, and got us out of there on the same day so we could enjoy our family vacation with as little interruption as possible. He probably did more that I forgot to mention. Thanks for everything! If we lived locally, we would be customers for life.

Superior service along with a friendly and trustworthy face. No need to search elsewhere for a repair shop, I have found it! Even if I’m driving from Seattle, worth it!

As I was traveling across the state, I noticed a leak in my car when I pulled over to get gas. I didn’t have much time but I was a bit worried so I stopped by Michael’s. They were amazing. They understood my situation and took a look right away. As it turns out there was nothing wrong and it was just condensation in my AC unit. They were very honest and didn’t charge me for taking a look. I am usually skeptical about seeing a new mechanic but I would definitely recommend these guys!

My 25 years old son, who lives in Colorado, needed to have his car towed off the Interstate when it broke down near North Bend, and it was taken to North Bend Auto. North Bend said the problem was a ‘timing belt pulley” and said they would have the car ready in about three days at a cost of $ 705.05. Wow! That’s A LOT of money for a timing belt. I get the same job here in New Jersey for about $ 400, and New Jersey is expensive, but it would’ve been okay if they had gotten him on his way.
A few days later they called him and said his car was ready to pick up. He came down from Seattle (where he was staying) and paid them $ 705.05.
BALONEY!!! They couldn’t even start the car to get it out of their garage. Then we were told they would look into the problem. 3 days later they called him and said they were too busy at the shop to look deeper into the problem and that they weren’t equipped to perform any major work on the engine.
We got the car towed up to Bellevue, at a cost of an additional $ 140.00, where the engine was completely replaced since it had blown a connecting rod and there was a big hole in the side of the block. I’m not sure how they missed that. It was pretty obvious.
THEY THEN REFUSED TO REFUND MY SON’S MONEY. When I asked for a refund the mechanic said I would have to talk to «the owner.» When I asked him for the owners phone number He asked for mine and then hung up on me as soon as I’d given it to him. I WAS NEVER CALLED BACK AND THEY NEVER RETURNED THE $ 705.05
Eventually I was forced to file a claim with VISA. Due to the pictures and documentation I was able to provide (thanks to the shop that found an engine and did the work — properly, I might add) they found in my favor but it took a few months.
The folks at North Bend knew the repairs they tried to do didn’t come even close to solving the problem. Miss-​diagnosing an engine problem is excusable. KEEPING MY SON’S MONEY AFTER AN INEFFECTIVE REPAIR IS NOT EXCUSABLE!
I NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN FORCED TO FILE A CLAIM FOR A REFUND.
I wonder if they treat the «locals» this badly…

Just left Northbend auto for service on my 97 jetta. A friend recommended this place and had bought a car in the past and currently still gets it serviced. The mechanic knew exactly what he was doing, the price was perfect for what I needed, and the owner Michael was more than helpful with questions I had about my car. I highly recommend NBAC to anyone with car problems or looking for something used and reliable. And not to mention the owner was clean cut and quite a handsome man.
