Sakura Japanese Buffet

Please do your research before going. This place was SHUT DOWN 3 TIMES in a course of 2 months. And they keep reopening. Roaches, rats, unclean, and temperature of the buffet not up to code.

I really don’t like writing this review, since we used to like this place a lot. However today when we walked in — it smelled bad, the tile floor was sticky, the carpet was filthy. Wall paper was peeling of the walls and it looked like there where a few leaks.
The food — which is usually good — was old, stale and some of it felt like it hadn’t been washed. The fish didn’t seem fresh or at the very least seamed to have sat out for a while.
Then I found out the health department had shut down the restaurant a week ago. Should have walked out. My recommendation: don’t go here, until they get the place cleaned up. It used to be one of our favorite places to go, but no more.

This restaurant has been closed now THREE (3) times because of violations (repeated). Check Channel 10’s dirty dinners. There is no way I can recommend this place. Sorry.

Something is to be said about a nice ambiance, great food, and great service and Sakura has it all! We enjoy this place so much were throwing a little party in a few weeks here!
The sushi is fresh and constantly being rolled, the steamed foods are hot and crispy, the soups are delish, and the hibachi rocks!
They re did the interior a few years back I have heard and the look is so nice you need to see for yourself! Very clean and well kept. I know it sounds preachy but it just really is a great spot for all one can eat Japanese food! Try it! You’ll be hooked!

The only thing nice in this restaurant was the décor and our server. The food was old and seemed to be sitting around for a long time. The white rice was crunchy from sitting for so long. The carpet in the dinning room was filthy! There was annoying beeping sounds the entire time. Must have been from the kitchen but I’m not sure. I believe my companion had food poisoning after and I had a severe stomach ache. Would not recommend!!!

Worst restaurant i ever been to.
Staff doesn’t speak a word of english beside beer and hello.
Sushi are not fresh and the wok station is nasty.
Will never eat over here again

Just watch channel 10 news report on food inspections on that restaurant.
Twice lately they close it after 50 or so violations so just be careful on choosing a place to eat. Do your homework, Chanel 10 has a new App on restaurants inspections reports. Easy and great.

Worst buffet in all of Miami Dade County… Because I live near by I keep giving this buffet a chance to please me and it continues to let me down time after time. They must have a maximum of one maybe two cooks because none of the food fully replenished. I will never come back here again and I recommend you keep driving.

The food was nasty & the owners couldn’t care less. I wish i could give a better review than the people who have before me, but i think they pretty much summed it up. I wouldn’t come back here if it were on the house.

We drove 30 min and we arrive at 2 o’clock for lunch and they told us that they are actually closing now, there was a lot of food. Horrible!

I have eaten here on several occasions and can fully understand why the reviews range from 1 star to 5 stars: the quality can be vastly different from day to day or even at various times during the same day. First off, I would warn anyone not to come during off hours or non busy times. If the place isn’t busy, the sushi could be sitting out for an hour or more before replacements are needed. Secondly, dinner is much better than lunch.
This isn’t a great sushi place by any stretch of the imagination, but as far as sushi buffets go, this one is about average (hence my 3-​star rating). If you’re lucky, you’ll show up for dinner on a day when the food is a 4 or even a 4.5 star day. Conversely, you could be unlucky and arrive when it’s only a 1 or 2 star day.
As Dirty Harry might say: Well, do you feel lucky, punk?

This place is TERRIBLE. I thought it was going to be Hibachi, as advertised… Totally not. I wasn’t greeted at all. I had to walk into the dining area and ask a waitress (who ignored me) if I should sit myself. The buffet looked disgusting, and like it had been sitting out all day. Burn this place to the ground.

If I had the option to choose 0 stars I would.
1^st time I came here was almost 2 yrs. ago it was ok but a bit over priced with barely any customers.
Since I saw it was still open I went again last week. The empty parking lot should’ve been a heads up not to go in.
The food was burnt, stuck together. The Hibachi line was a mess. Sushi wasn’t fresh. Ice cream had frost bite. Everything tasted so bad!
If they put less effort on décor to improve their customer service, quality of food and cleanliness they might have more business!
Never going back!

Omg super good, clean, modern and amazing delicious food. Great presentation and taste, huge variety of sushi and other Japanese food. Staff is super welcome and the service is the best in Miami omg, great experience. My new place for sushi…

Although $ 20 for all you can eat sushi is enticing, the quality was so poor that I didn’t want seconds. The sushi selection was meager, lots of American knock offs with cheap seafood salad or cream cheese inside, and even the tuna and salmon rolls were dry and unappetizing. If you’re going for the Chinese buffet, there are way cheaper options. Even the deserts were stale and tasted like out of a plastic package. If you want excellent sushi, try Japanese Market down the street or Sun Sushi Asian and Grill on Normandy Isle.

The food is akin to your typical Asian buffet, but the décor is nice and it’s more expensive.
The mostly Chinese food type buffet is bad. The sushi is the worst. Stick to the Mongolian grill section (I think they call it hibachi?).

The reviewers weren’t kidding. I went twice on separate occasions. Once for lunch and once for Dinner.
The first time it wasn’t that bad, I’m not a fan of sushi so I stuck to the buffet bar. The friend I went with loves sushi and simply didn’t like the tastes.
On to the dinner buffet:
I LOVE sesame chicken (a version of General Tso), when I saw it, the sauce looked weird, it was watery, but I got it anyways, when I went to eat it, the dough was soggy (not crispy like it should be) it was DISGUSTING I am not going to ruin your appetite by going into details but yes. Horrible.
I got some Pepper steak… and the meat was too… chewy, and tasted very off, nothing like I usually order so I stopped eating it.
The shrimp was alright (given they don’t even devein the shrimp but that’s asking too much)
The rice was DRY. How can asian restaurants leave rice that dry out there? Have you no pride? If it dries up, replace it! It’s a dinner menu, the most expensive menu, and you won’t even put fresh rice out?
The only reason I give it 2 stars is because the staff is VERY friendly, so they deserve a star. But you don’t go to a restaurant just for the staff, food is the biggest part and yes, the food here is beyond TERRIBLE. Stay away, you’ve been warned.

This place was horrible. The only reason I give it one star is because of the decorations. Customer service was poor. Anyone who thinks this sushi is great, clearly has not been out of the house.
I even think my stomach is starting to hurt now!

This place is certainly dressed to impress from the moment you walk in ’till the moment you put a piece of food in your mouth. That’s where it ends.
Everything either tastes the same or is blander than bland.
Maybe I went there on an off day? I don’t plan on returning to find out.
