April 12, 2014 a hailstorm came thru our subdivision in Highland Park. Insurance company sent out a Claims Specialist and he concluded we had suffered severe hail damage to our roof, gutters, siding and downspouts. Insurance company agreed to cover the damage. We asked for a recommendation and the Specialist recommended: Midwest Roofing and Siding, Inc. Researched them online( Unilocal &BBB), at the time there were only 2 – 3 complaints. Asked Project Manager, Mike Vaia about the complaints and Mike said they were minor and had been resolved. We decided to hire Midwest due to the fact our Claims Specialist highly recommended them. Took awhile from initial contact 5÷22÷2014 to actual installation of our roof July, 2014 but eventually the job was completed. We were happy with the work until this April, 2015 when we came home from work and found puddles in our master bathroom. Thought it might have been the direction of the rain and it might be a one time occurrence, except, NO! Now whenever it rains, we have a nice fountain coming down from our ceiling in our master bathroom. My husband called Mike Vaia several times with no answer and no return phone call for over 2 weeks. Meantime, it’s raining and the roof continues to leak, BIGTIME. Finally, Mike called us back and said he was sending over a guy to look it over. Well after waiting and waiting and waiting, NO guy! Called Mike again and played the waiting game with him. Finally returned our call and after more than 10 weeks, he finally sent a guy over. Guy goes up in our attic and says he doesn’t see anything wrong. Ha! Guy goes up on our roof and discovers a shingle has blown off. If the shingle had been correctly installed in the 1st place, it should not have blown off. Guy discovers caulking had not been completed around the master bath fan so, he caulks it. We are relieved until the next rain storm. Roof starts leaking again!!! This time I take pics and send them to Mike. I threaten to call Insurance company and Mike states: «don’t», Mike needs to come out and look himself. Sent him a text back stating we were at home in the AM and he should come and take a look. My husband called and got his vm, left a message. Surprise, NO Mike and No return phone call. That was Monday, July 27th and we’re still waiting. It’s raining again today, August 10th and we’ve got rain coming into our master bath, again! Even though our roof had hail damage, it NEVER leaked. New roof and it leaks.
