Torrid

So I am an in betweener… I fit in regular sizes in all other stores but have a hard time finding jeans that fit my curvy hips that are also flattering so I buy a lot of my jeans from here. I really loved the large selection they had, but they seemed to downsize after their new renovation. HUGE mistake. The layout is cramped, and confusing! I cannot access the clothes because they are hung in front of each other? They seemed to make room for tons of bathing suits and a new (yet disorganized clearance rack). The clearance is usually too fashion forward, tacky and ill fitted… so when I go in there, I am disappointed that there isn’t much of a selection of current stuff!
The worst thing about this store is the inconsistent help. I often get treated strange because they think I don’t belong in there (but my shape is deceiving) and I pretty much get an attitude with the associates. They never come and ask if I need anything else… hate answering questions etc… each time my daughter and hubby come in THEY help get the pants for me while I sit inside the dressing room because they never ask me how I am, they are too busy folding clothes? Tonight in particular was awful. One lady out of three was trying to help everyone and the most concerned with customers, while the others were in lala land. There was a line with two registers open and the same associate who was trying to help customers had to continually ask one of the others to come over and take a customer (because I guess the pants being neat is more important than the customer being attended to). I also know my receipt was wrong because the total came to $ 102.00 and I had a $ 30.00 off $ 100.00 coupon and it came to $ 86.00… I tried to bring it up to the associate, but she was reading out the receipt as if that explained it… so I gave up and walked out. The only pro is with all the attention to folding the pants, the pants are always neat! (until I come around and mess it up) LOL.
This Torrid location needs to get with the program!

I like Torrid as a whole a lot, but I LOVE this location. I don’t get to go shopping all that often, so how the heck do these people recognize me when I come in and some even call me by name? They are vested and love their jobs, that’s how. They jump at the opportunity to help you in any way they can, give you clothing advice, help you with coupons, whatever it takes. I love, love, love, the gals working here!

I love Torrid, and this is my absolute favorite location. The girls here are helpful and not pushy, and they dress to set the standard! I always leave with amazing clothes, feeling great about myself.

This is my least favorite Torrid. I’m not some kind of Torrid expert but I’ve been to three stores. I feel like this particular store picks the ugliest and most unpractical items to stock.
If you’re looking for dresses, this is great. A few small sections of casual clothes? You’ll find some. Accessories and lingerie? You’ll find tons.
However if you’re looking for every day, casual and business casual clothes, you’re not going to find it here. I work for myself, so I can decide what’s business casual and I’m not afraid of being funky. But the clothes here are either WAY too dressy (ie. dresses & stretchy shirts), or WAY too casual (ie. t-​shirts and jeans).
The sizes are also weird. Are you a 0? A 1? a 2? or a 3? How the hell should I know? Is there a sign somewhere? No. Can someone explain it to me? No, they’re too busy at the register. So I’ll just do some trial and error in the dressing room all day long.
I’ve tried on a lot of clothes here and nothing has fit «just right». All of the shirts seem to be made for girls with FF boobs, even in the smaller sizes.
In other words, sizes 0 – 3 arent enough sizes for me. The prices aren’t modest either. Expect $ 40 for a shirt just like any other chubby girl stores. Cause obviously it requires so much extra material to make clothes for us.
I have come back a few times because this location is closest to me, but I can never find anything and get stuck at Lane Bryant instead. I have bought a few items at other stores, but back to the sizing issue, nothing really fits right, no matter ow much I try to shrink or stretch them.

With Torrid, you can be fat and funky at the same time.
I love a place that doesn’t think that just because your over size 12 that you want to wear only animal prints and giant plastic rhinestones and mu-​mus. MEH. Hell, maybe you even still have an hourglass figure (that noone would ever know about under that stupid mu-​mu.)
Enter Torrid.
Torrid is not for everyday wear if you’re well, a grown up with a stupid real job. (Note to self: Lose stupid real job and get really cool indie job where I can wear this shit all the time). However, they most definitely have something for everyone.

I love this place. It has cute things that i fell good about wearing. There is always some great bargains. I truly like going shopping when i go there its not all «old womeny» type stuff that is at most places for plus size women. Any time i’ve ever been in there the staff is extremely nice. I think the thing i like about it most is the fact you don’t feel like you’re being judged by the people who work there on how you look and i love it.

Nice selection of shoes, accessories, and underwear as well. I have to say, the bras suck though. Still, 5 stars!!!
