I’ve been here several times over the years… enough to see the highs and lows of Vito(mentioned in other reviews). I’ll simply say the beer selection was always interesting, the crowd always varied, and(with the exception of one time [I needed to kill some time I popped in, ordered one drink, paid debit, Vito seemed annoyed]) always enjoyed myself here. I can thank Copper Mine for serving me my first Stone Enjoy By and I can also thank them for introducing me to Piast in Garfield(which I can never repay them for). This place will be missed! Good luck Vito… given your passion for beer I hope to see some reincarnation in the future.

Oh Copper Mine, how I’ll miss you. Awesome beers and a BYOF policy(bring your own food) is kickass and laid back. I’m sorry I waited until your closing week to write this review, that I’m currently writing from a barstool. The beer events and tap takeovers were always killer, but my favorite was to roll in with a pizza on a more chill night. The taps are always excellent, and there’s even a liquor selection that’s pretty decent. Aged bottle selection is also ridiculous. I’ve had some 2 and 3 year old sours from it, and they were outta control awesome. I wish I’d written this review sooner!

Vito the owner is garbage. He shouldn’t be hired to clean the bar toilet let alone own one. Rude and just terrible to be around. All I wanted was a good beer so I would go in there from time to time to get one. Whenever Vito would speak then i would have to leave out of disgust. Last time I was there he kicked everyone out early cause he wanted to go home. Do urself a favor and don’t put urself though Vito’s periods.

Best beer selection in NJ Don’t come here if you don’t like beer. They have no food, no snacks, and no weak beer. Just really really GOOD beer. Selection changes week to week. No frills atmosphere, but really comfortable for some good conversation over a few beers.

Great craft beer selection. Casual, friendly vibe. Came here on a Wednesday and it’s a great place for a conversation. Parking lot in the back plus street parking. They don’t serve food but ask the bartender for menus — they have a bunch and you can just have the food delivered to the bar.

This place is small but an experience one should not go without! I’m a sucker for craft beer and rockhunting. The days of mining in North Arlington are long gone but if you want to grab an excellent craft sud with a side of mining memorabilia this place brings the history of the area alive! Excellent ode to one of America’s first mines. I love the old mining memorabilia they have on the wall! Geology buffs, rockhounders, local historians, and the like will appreciate this bar. They have old mining maps and signs in some places so they stay true to the name. You can also look foward to a new beer choices on Thursday night. Never generic crap to be had here! Only the good stuff! High quality craft beer is pricey but it’s worth every piece of copper for sure! Like the town itself, don’t mine so much the ground below you can’t handle the weight above you. You don’t want to fall into a sinkhole like some houses around here in the 1980’s! Check the percentages and be responsible. But like the malachite, chrysocolla, and azurite at the mine dumps this specimen of a bar is one of a kind! Never had a bad experience here. Even slower nights are great. Even better, you don’t have to deal with the random assortment of jackasses you may find at typical neighborhood bars around here. Just real down to earth people! I encourage any old rockhounders from nearby who collected copper oxide minerals from the old, off limit mine dumps to donate some specimens. It’s a way to preserve the mineralogy of this historic town. Industrial projects and excessive mining may have closed this location to collecting but the history can be kept alive through kind folks who care about mineralogical history. So anyone who is into craft beer, NJ history, mining, geology, and the like should come here. Always a satisfying experience! Your sure to excavate an excellent time!

I came here with a couple friends since the reviews said it was such a great craft beer joint and I have to say that their selection was quite good! They have ~20 taps filled with lots of seasonal and regional brews. The space inside is very simple, just a bar and a few wooden tables. I definitely enjoyed the simple atmosphere of the place, but the service makes it lose a star; the bartender was the grumpiest bartender I’ve ever met and he really made it seem like pouring our beers was an incredible inconvenience. I loved their selection, but I probably wouldn’t be back because of the service.

What’s there to really say other than Copper Mine Pub is the best. A rotating selection of craft beers. A nice, relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. If you’re looking for Budweiser, please look elsewhere.

There’s nothing fancy about this place but the beer selection is amazing. 20 taps and none of them are Coors Light or any other high volume brand for that matter. Local brews, Belgian ales, sour ales, ciders, all regularly changing so you will be always find a surprise waiting for you. With so many to choose from it’s best to cab it home from here and bring back a growler or two.

This place is the real deal! They had I believe at least 30 imported Brews and all of this beers are not your neighborhood bar beers. The ambiance is perfect for meeting and catching up and what they had was delicious. I had a choklat stout and a pecan flavored stout and they were great! The prices were well worth the quality also. Can’t wait to go back!

This is one of the best craft beer bars in northern New Jersey. They always have great beers on tap and the owner has a mailing list that will let you know about special beer nights. Their business website is also kept fairly up to date. Also note: they fill growlers! The space is not big but it is a great place to come by yourself or with a group of friends. I highly recommend checking it out if you are a lover of craft beer.

So you want to go to bar in Brooklyn with all your Hipster friends you say. No need just go to the Copper Mine Pub and meet all new NJ hipsters. I have lived in town for 7 years and have never been in here. Everytime I drove by it has always been dead. I guess they have started a special beer night twice a month. Im not a wild beer guy I enjoy the original classics Bud Light, Guinness, PBR, and Miller High Life(its the champagne of beers after all). This past Thursday was sour beer night. A friend of mine was heading up so idecided to meet him there. He is a pro when it comes to the sour beers. I got what he had and immediatly did the standard fish face as I tasted the sourness of this beverage. Wasnt horrible but not something I could drink on a daily basis. Pretty crowded in the bar stranding room only. Staff was ok. Like I said before living in town for the past 7 years I have never seen this many Hipsters in one place west of the Hudson river ever. Lots of black rimmed glasses and fancy mustaches and beards. You would think we were on a boat and not in a bar with the amount of boat shoes that were on the deck… er I mean floor of the bar.

My fiancé and I went here last night — he had been there before, this was my first time. I was really surprised, this place has a really neat and cool feel to it. They do not have a lot of your typical«grocery store» beer brands — which I always appreciate. As someone who likes wheat beers, I was a little hesitant at first because they didnt have any light wheat beers on tap when we went it cause their last keg had just kicked– BUT — it wasn’t even a problem. the bartender(I didn’t get her name but she ROCKED!) was so awesome and let me try a sample or two and finally found a great choice. So thank you! Really fair prices and a really cool and different place to go. We will be back for sure, it is worth the time and money to try it at least once :)

LOVELOVELOVEEEDTHISPLACE! .until they kicked out all of my friends for singing happy birthday to someone. Why? Because they were«too loud.» Mind you, we are a group of people that attend this place quite frequently, and spend a lot of money there. No one was being obnoxious, no one was being«too loud» or bothering the other customers — it’s not that kind of place, we know that. and we are not obnoxious drunken children. Apparently singing happy birthday is not allowed in this place. Therefore, they have lost about 25 regular customers. BUT! Other than that, the owner is usually a really nice guy(if he knows you or if you’re friends with him). The atmosphere is very relaxing and the beers are great! Was one of my favorite places to go. Anyone that would like enjoy some great beers and a relaxing, quiet atmosphere should give it a shot. Just don’t sing happy birthday or pretend you’re having a good time — you may get kicked out. pinky’s up.

This place became my second home when I first moved to the area. It’s where I met most of my North Jersey friends. While I don’t come nearly as often as I used to, I still try to make it in once or twice a month. Best beer bar in New Jersey. Vito rules. That’s all I have to say.

A really cute pub with excellent tap and bottle selection of craft beers. The Bartender poured me two great selections after I challenged him to pour me something good(but not a pale ale or IPA– 2 kinds I don’t enjoy). At first he was uncomfortable picking a beer for me but he reluctantly played along. I had a Kane Silent Nights imperial stout $ 7 and Goose Island sofie also $ 7. Both were great. The tap selection is kept up to date on the website. I liked the small, dark, but friendly atmosphere and felt like I could hang out all day. My husband wished they had food and I agree that would be a good addition. This is a neat little place that we’d go back to if in the area again.

This is the Mecca for craft brews in New Jersey. Period. Outstanding beers, constantly changing taps and a great crowd. My only question is who is the better bartender? Vito or Nicki? I would love to see a tapas style menu here someday…

It’s been a minute since I’ve stopped by Copper Mine, which means I haven’t had the opportunity to taste some fine crafts beers on tap. Small craft beer bar in North Arlington, the bartenders can recommend a brew based on different beers or tastes that you enjoy. This is the first place I had an Allagash White — now one of my favorites 4-packs. The craft beer on tap is constantly changing — but it’s not annoying because you get to try different beers whenever you stop by. There’s a small parking lot in the back, and plenty of street parking. I definitely recommend Copper Mine for beer lovers, or for a group that wants to go try something new,

HARDCORE beer enthusiasts. This place is for you! You certainly don’t come here for the décor. There’s not much of an atmosphere either. But none of that matters, because you come here for the beer!!! Carefully selected by ultra-friendly and helpful owner Vito, the 20 rotating on-tap beers are often difficult to find and rare. He also carries imported bottles and cask-conditioned beer. The list of beers is updated daily at and on the main copper mine pub website. There is also a newsletter you can sign up for with updates from Vito. They don’t officially serve food here, but when I came last time, there was some cheese and crackers out by the non-functional commercial exhaust hood. You are welcome to bring your own food or have food delivered to the bar. As usual, I like to try as many beers as I can without getting drunk. Vito was nice enough to pour me half-servings for half-price to help me with my goal. Some of my favorites: 1) Racer X by Bear Republic– OMG this is one of my favorite IPA’s of all time. Perfect blend of citrus notes and hoppiness.(see photo) 2) Kasteel Winter by Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck — delicious and perfect for the winter, tasted like chestnuts roasted on an open fire(see photo) 3) Santa’s Little Helper 2012 by Mikkeller — dark chocolate notes stout but not too heavy(see photo) So, what are you waiting for? Check their website. They’ve got special tappings every few weeks. You don’t want to miss them. You go!
