After hearing my friends rave about this place, I have been dying to try it, so I came here late one night with my dad. I have heard that it gets packed during breakfast and brunch times, so I was glad we didn’t run into that kind of crowd. There was no one in the place when we came here, it was practically empty! There were plenty of parking spaces at that time, but I could see how parking would be a challenge when they’re really busy. Our waitress was pretty bad. Some of her responses were majorly lame. I asked if the corned beef hash was good and she said«I don’t like corned beef hash!» My dad asked about the difference between two steaks and she just said«I don’t even know!» If you are working at a restaurant, you should be able to answer questions about the menu, or at least go and ask someone else who might know. I ordered an iced coffee and it was just OK, nothing great. I then ordered the corned beef hash and eggs, which came with pancakes. The pancakes were the best part of the meal and the eggs were decent, I really didn’t care for the corned beef hash at all. My dad ordered the ribeye steak and eggs, which came with pancakes as well. He said the steak wasn’t very good and that the pancakes were the most decent thing he had. I had very high expectations for this place and was pretty disappointed! For a place that specializes in breakfast items and steak, neither were even that good! I am probably not going to return anytime soon. There are way better places for breakfast and steak in the area.

Brought my lady here for a birthday breakfast. The staff here were extremely courteous and polite. The food was very good. The pricing was just right. The atmosphere was comfortable. It’s a very nice local spot to hit up. Parking isn’t the greatest during their peak times but they work with what they have. Will definitely return!

The man that seats customers usually doesn’t take names, and doesn’t estimate wait time. I was told no wait for my small party and waited anyway while other small parties were grumbling about the same thing. He tried to stop us on the way out, I called him out on telling us there was zero wait time and he said«I lie all the time.» It’s good food, but not good enough to ignore the bad customer service.

Went there for breakfast, ordered the Mexican Omlet with French toast. The French Toast was amazing, definitely fresh. The Omlet was also very good. I would recommend.

Nice cozy place, with good food. Service is good, although they missed the same details the both times we came here. We asked for hot syrup for our pancakes and for the both times they forgot it. Other than this I recommend it to everyone I know.

The good part , The waitress was very sweet, very attentive, and apologetic. The bad part — the food : I am sorry but can’t agree with my fellow Unilocalers ! i ordered the onion soup– it was just ok, nothing special I ordered sirloin steak with eggs and blue berry pancake — However when I got my steak it was a slab of greasy fatty meat(looked like a bad ribeye meat ? — i asked the waitress if this was sirloin or ribeye(I’m not a picky eater) … But I was right, the kitchen(some how) made a mistake on the meat(don’t know how) When I received my plate back, the sirloin had NO seasoning(not even the basic salt or pepper) The fresh blueberry pancake, sorry but I can tell they were frozen berries and they tasted freezer burnt My eggs: it had a weird, odd yellow color to the yolk and it also tasted bland(even after I put salt on them) (maybe the lighting or maybe my eyes but it was weird) — Coffee was just ok : My whole wheat toast: was actually rye bread, wasn’t bad but not what I ordered . Over– all: I’m sorry but I wouldn’t go back **Just a small FYI: If your establishment states«steaks and pancakes«then those are two things that should be the best and freshest item on the menu

This is our go to place for breakfast every weekend. Food is great and so is the service. The omelettes are great and they serve really fresh fruit as well.

I’ve eaten here several times. Food is actually pretty good. Initially I was hesitant to try, but glad I did. Pancakes are always good. They have several omelets to chose from, in addition to waffles, French toast, etc. They serve salads/sandwiches/burgers. Everything I’ve ordered from here was pretty good — kind of like diner food. I’m giving this place a three because the service can be hit or miss. Sometimes you will get a waitress that’s is attentive and friendly or one that never stops by to check on you, let alone refill your beverage! Talk abt dying of thirst.

I love this place, last night me and my brother were hungry, we decided to go to the stack, get us a late night dinner, we love the«hungry mans» breakfast platter, it was ten minutes till closing and they still welcomed us in, it was incredible and we’d apologize for coming so short notice but they kept insisting it was no worries, great people. I’ve been coming here for about a year now, I’m glad I found this gem of dinner in New Jersey, hopefully they’ll be around for my children to enjoy this place. Thank you to the staff.

Homey, laid back vibe with plenty of space and friendly staff. I wanted something filling and decadent, so I went the waffle sandwich, which is just a regular belgian waffle with a scrambled egg and sausage on top. The sausage is super thick but tastes just as delicious as sausage links from your mom’s table. The waffle was light and airy, and it tasted like a dream soaked in maple syrup. Just what I wanted. We shared an order of disco fries, which are just ok, not much gravy, and the cheese isn’t very flavorful. Thankfully, they are serving some very good coffee, and they’ll refill your cup for free. One of the best diners in the area, a close second only to Tops.

I have come here a few times. It has always been what would be expected from a diner/pancake house. The food and service has always been good and consistent until today. I went with a group of five including my friend and his six year old daughter. Im not even going to be dramatic at all about her biting into a foreign object in her food. Honestly, it happens. It appeared to be a metal bristle from a brush possibly used to clean the grill(im going to post a pic of it with this review). What upsets me about the situation is the reaction by the manager to this. The waitress was very nice. I believe she anticipated my friend to be a bit more angry than he had been. He didn’t make a scene or freak out. He didn’t ask for anything for free, just asked them to take it back. The waitress went over to the manager, showed him the item she bit into and he shrugged it off. Never came to the table, never apologized or offered anything. Again… We get it. Things happen in kitchens. It was nothing that caused an injury(but could have) or got her sick. No one was looking to scam or sue. We were a party of 5 and a couple of us were returning customers. This was the second visit there in a week for two of us. I think the manager should have cared a little more.

Primarily a breakfast and brunch establishment, the pancakes are above par. They are super busy on the weekends. Service is average. My personal opinion is that breakfast from a diner is much better. I don’t plan on going back here anytime soon.

Dinner was not impressive. I had Fish and Chips, small side of coleslaw and french onion soup. I wouldnt go back to eat here. The french onion soup was over salted, it was a cool concept with bread in the bottom and melted cheese on top of the bowl. The soup was broth based with thick slices of onion. The Fish and Chips: Definitely not homemade. The coleslaw was okay, but it had a ton of mayonnaise. Instead of pre packaged tarter sauce i used the coleslaw to top the fried fish. i didnt even bother with the fries. The fries looked like steak fries. My husband had the fried seafood platter, i tried everthing on his plate. Over fried, no seasoning and chewy. They should just take it off the menu. How can you mess up something so simple. If you can not bring taste or quality to the dish then dont add it to the menu. His plate brought two sides, he picked corn and mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Corn was canned corn, not even buttered. Gravy was watery, flavor was ok not the best. The food was not anything out of this world, seemed to be over priced for the low quality food. I had heard so many good things about this place and it just didnt meet up to my expectations. I gave them 1 out of 5 because ill give them the benefit of the doubt for breakfast.

The best way to describe The Stack is «Solid». Expect a wait on weekend mornings. The best part about the place is the value. Expect a good amount of food at a very low price. The hash browns/bacon and omelets/eggs usually come well done and definitely not overly-seasoned,(or seasoned much at all for that matter) so keep this in mind when ordering. The normal buttermilk pancakes are the best part of the place in my mind. They absolutely put all IHOPs to shame and are very fluffy and flavorful. The one downside of this place is that they do not have name brand syrup, so syrup lovers, be aware. If you want good food with solid service that won’t leave a dent in your wallet and will keep you full, give The Stack a shot.

Been here a handful of times on a weekday but never a weekend. I love breakfast food so this hits the spot every time ! Lots of seniors in the early AM for a breakfast special which I clearly don’t qualify for but the price value for what you get is good to me!

We were seated quickly since my fiancée n I were the first ones here on a Sunday morning. We were greeted warmly and we’re happy to see it renovated. It’s been years since we were here. The food was delicious albeit could have been seasoned slightly more. Will come again for sure. Lunch and dinner are also bound in the future here. Very pleased!

Great neighborhood restaurant. Has a very comfy, family feel to it. The servers are extremely friendly, they’re are on top of things. Food preparation is very consistent. I’ve not had anything I didn’t like. The meatball escarole Soup is top notch. Stack burger is the best. Order with a vanilla shake and you will be in heaven.

When I first approached The Stack – the line was out the door. I always think that is a good thing since the food must be worth it, however, nobody really likes waiting in line. We were greeted promptly and couldn’t have waited more than five minutes for a table. The Stack serves breakfast all day and that’s what we went there for. I think the food came out quicker than it took for us to get a table. I went with the Hungry Man special and it was quite the breakfast. Everything is cooked pretty simply – nothing fancy – but it is cooked right! Nice crispy bacon, perfect pancakes, eggs that aren’t runny and well-buttered toast. And the potatoes are very light on the seasoning – which I like. Not a fan when the breakfast potatoes are loaded with onions and peppers. The Stack is comparable to a diner, but I would place it above that. I would come back here again – besides I have to – need to try the steak!

I’ve been coming here since I was little kid. I remember going here after crew practice and ordering a bunch of pancakes and bacon. those were the days. Now I come in once a year or so and I get the omellete filled with cheddar, grilled chicken and bacon topped with sour cream with a side of home fries. The place has changed much and I believe is family owned. Its usually packed Saturday and Sunday mornings and lunch. The staff is friendly and service is quick.

Was in the mood for some breakfast for dinner so I came across Stack Pancake and Steak House. Walked in and was immediately greeted by owner and staff. Had a hard time deciding what order as they offer a wide variety of things. Ultimately went with the Belgian waffle with fresh strawberries and a fresh feta and spinach omelette with a stack of pancakes to-go. Prices are comparative to other breakfast spots. Within a few minutes of placing my order, I was out the door. BIG plus! The waffle was light but not as crispy as I like it. Still, it was very tasty. The omelette was nicely sized and the pancakes were better than the waffle. They were light and fluffy. They also packed some whipped butter in my bag — definitely better than other places that serve regular yellow butter. The place is quaint and spacious though, from the outside, it’s hard to tell. Great pancakes and fast and friendly service… I would recommend Stack Pancake to anyone hoping to locally grub on breakfast. Looking forward to dining in and trying other dishes out.
