Shear Looks

I had my hair cut here a few months ago. When I arrived, I had wet hair that I had just shampooed and conditioned (all I needed was a trim). I told my hairdresser I had just washed it and did not need shampooing. She disregarded what I said and practically forced me to get my hair washed again! Even WORSE she took a bristle brush to my wet, knotty hair and brushed it! I sat in the chair literally listening to my hair break… Doesn’t everyone know you should only use a comb bottom up on wet hair!!! It was awful. Then she went to cut my hair, and I asked for layers. She said I’d never had layers before coming (even though I had layers cut a few months prior…) and she did not make the layers noticeable enough. I kept asking for her to go shorter and with more definition but she kept telling me it wasn’t what I wanted… I asked her to correct the cut 3 times, then I had wasted enough time. I went home and gave myself the hair cut I wanted (with my twice-​washed, bristle-​damaged hair).

My very picky 13 year old wanted a more mature, edgy cut that required cutting off 6 inches of hair. I was so nervous about whether she’d like it or regret her decision. Anna slayed it! Her haircut was stunning and my daughter couldn’t stop smiling. So, so pleased!

My first haircut at this salon was by Dee– she did an excellent job. I went in with a pretty good idea of what I wanted and brought along a picture for reference. Dee listened well to my requests, but suggested a few alternatives based on my hair type.
I’m so glad I listened to her recommendations! This is by far the best haircut I’ve ever received (and one of the more affordable ones in the area at $ 40). Everyone I spoke with in the salon was very friendly. I will definitely be back!

So… for about 14 years I had been going to the same hairdresser, whom I absolutely loved! But… he decided after many years into he business, he was opening a barber shop for men. He continues to do my hair there still for several years until maybe a year and a half ago. How sad was i!!!
A friend of mine had never complained about where she went and her hair always looked really nice… so I thought why not ask. I am so glad I did!!! SHANNON is absolutely the BEST!!! From the first time I went to her she knew how nervous I was, but it was a cake walk for her!
Today, I am leaving there feeling so much better about myself! She always takes her time and does exactly what you like! She is AMAZING!!! Shannon, thanks again for another wonderful job! Please never leave me! Lol!

Shear looks (Anna and Caroline) are the best. From the minute I reached out to them to take care of me and my bridal party on my wedding day, they were nothing but helpful and sweet! They are true professionals and will make you feel so special, warm and welcome! (and they truly work wonders! My hair was gorgeous) I got so many compliments!!!

Anna is HORRIBLE at color and kills your hair. I’ve never had more breakage and split ends in my life. She does a good cut and blow out but that’s it. Don’t trust her with color, she has no idea what she’s doing, and that sucks because she’s the owner. She needs a refresher course.

I am new to the area and could not have been happier that I found Shear Looks. It is not often that your expectations are not only met but surpassed. Shannon did a great job and everyone inside the Salon was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend checking it out. You will not be disappointed.

I found my hair salon/​stylist. Caroline is amazing!!! I was very hesitant on getting my hair bobbed but Caroline was wonderful and listened to what I had to say. She did an amazing job. Thank you. I will be back in a few months!

Have been getting my hair highlighted & cut here for over 10 years. Owner is great and prices are reasonable. I highly recommend!

Just had my first cut at Shear Looks. The cost of my cut ($ 37) was very reasonable. You get what you pay for, though, so although my hair cut is fine, it’s nothing special. The salon itself and the stylists/​receptionists are also run-​of-​the-​mill. The bathroom is a bit dingy. I was not offered a beverage. I might go there again in a pinch, but I’ll continue my search for a good hair salon in the Norristown area.

Dee gave me a great cut. I could tell it was important to her that I got what I wanted and we communicated really well. The price is certainly right. Would recommend.

Shannon did my hair recently and I could not be happier about the results. This place is not a spa and you will not get champagne or anything like that (I view this as a positive) SO you aren’t paying for frills just your hair! I got all over highlights, cut and color for $ 115! This is amazing to me bc I went to another salon in the Blue Bell area and paid almost $ 200 for partial highlights and cut! I will definitely be going back and highly recommend them. Everyone was also very nice and welcoming!

I had a truly fabulous color and cut from Bernadette for a mere $ 60. This was my first time at this salon after years of following a stylist who moved out of state two months ago. Needless to say, my hair was dragged out and less than fabulous. Bernadette took the time to find out what I actually want, my perfect color, and put me at ease.
The salon is down to earth and friendly. This is a great salon if you crave attentive service and a gorgeous style with zero snootiness.

I absolutely love Anna… she’s the owner, and she does great work.
I have never been unhappy with a cut, color or eyebrow wax from this place. They’re very affordable… cut/​color ends up being like $ 75? Can’t beat it! Eyebrow waxes are $ 8 or $ 9.
I live in Boston now, but still come home twice a year just to get my hair done here.
They also take walk-​ins, which is nice, and have great hours for a salon.
