We saw this place on our way to Dosa hut, decided to give it a try. It is a beutiful little place. well maintained and well designed Having spent a good amount of time in hyderabad, the first dish I try in any indian restaurant is a Biriyani. Sadly it was not great. The sheek Kebab we ordered came in a hot plate. covered in green peppers and onions.. The kebabs were soggy and was falling apart. For me thats was just wrong. But they did hit the ball out of the park with the Dosa we ordered for our Son… it was delicious, so was the chutney and Sambhar

Although I am American, I have been eating Indian food for over 40 years, both in restaurants and in friends’ homes. There used to be a lot of good lunchtime Indian buffets, but now there seems to be a shortage. So I was very pleased to find Desi Spice, in the Park Ridge Shopping Center in Trooper. There was an impressive array of appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and beverages, all included in the $ 9.99 price. In addition, they offer you freshly-made nan(the Indian version of pita bread). Most of the food was very well-prepared. The selection was healthier than most too. There was a delicious preparation of mixed greens, as well as aloo gobi(potatoes and cauliflower), both favorites of mine. There were several chicken dishes, and a fish entrée, and goat curry, which tastes very much like lamb. Everything is clearly marked with name tags, so you know in advance what you are selecting. Most of the food was mildly seasoned, except for the chicken biryani,(pilaf) which really had a kick to it. Not to worry, they keep you very well-supplied with water. My only complaint, which I passed on to the owners, is that the only sugar substitute they had was Sweet ‘n Low, which I don’t care for. I believe they are going to correct this. I like a little sweetener in my masala chai(spiced tea). Also, I prefer a little more spice in it. All in all, I can highly recommend this spot, and will be sure to visit them again soon!

I really loved this place a lot the first time we ordered delivery, but since then it’s been all down hill. Their food is well made, but very inconsistent. The 4 times I’ve ordered their chicken curry twice it’s been as spicy as I would want it to be which is very spicy, once it was tangy and today it was the most bland curry I’ve ever tasted. The rest of the meal was good, but they are always incredibly stingy on the rice for delivery. It was hardly enough rice for one dish let alone enough to split for the two dishes we ordered. The worst part is their delivery people, they have never once come to our apartment door like every other delivery place I’ve ever ordered from. Most recently they arrived with no money to make change and never offered a total on the phone… I ended up tipping a little more than I wanted, but if I happen to order from them again the tip will be whatever change their is which in the last two orders was $ 2. All of that said I’m still giving 3 generous stars because the food has been good every time even if bland the last two times we ordered. I’m afraid I may move to only ever eat their in-house because it seems you get far better food and service if you dine in, but as a new parent that isn’t very easy for us to do. We’ll see if future impressions warrant an update, but as it stands I’m debating ordering ever again.

We love this joint. Best Indian food around. The most important thing to note would have to be the quality fresh ingredients. We felt the quality of meat was getter at this Place than other Indian joints we’ve been to. The décor is also on point. Small intimate Setting and great service. We both drink about 6 to 8 glasses of water during a meal and our cups were not once empty. Interesting and fun Bollywood music videos play on a flat screen TV. This is the only Indian restaurant we go to in the area because it is simply the best!

I am very critical of Indian food and I think this is the best Indian food in the area! It’s a family run restaurant. I can see that they put a lot of effort on providing quality food and customer service. As its owned by a Nepali couple, they also have some Nepali dishes on the menu! I would really recommend trying their momo’s which is a authentic Nepali cuisine.

It’s not my favorite Indian in the area, but it’s definitely good. I am concerned that they lack of business is effecting the quality of the food. Too many times I’ve been here at 6:3007:00 during the week for dinner and been the only person in the restaurant. I hope they can turn it around. The service is friendly and accommodating.

This was our very first time at any Indian restaurant and we loved it. The food smelled and tasted delicious. We stumbled upon this place from Groupon as it has been there for only 8 months. Your server will ask you what level of hot/spicy you want in your dish. You can order mild in any dish. They are very accommodating for any dietary restriictions, just let them know in advance or when you order. My best friend and I preferred dishes with the sauce as the dry dishes do not come with sauce and are not very moist, but that is how it is supposed to be. The dishes were all full of flavor and all tasted differently, so read the descriptions to explain if it will be a sweeter or more flavored by a multitude of spices so you know what to expect when you dish arrives. Mamfa, our server was superb and very nice, always kept our water glasses full without asking and offered us boxes and bags to take the leftovers home. Mamfa was very helpful and made great suggestions. This is a BYOB restaurant and they encourage you to bring it. We had a dessert that looked like a munchkin, didn’t taste like it, but warm and delicious sweetened by honey. Definitely get the mango drink, but ask for ice on the side, as they serve it room temp, but would be more refreshing if colder. Beautiful atmosphere, clean and excellent service. They didn’t rush you out and loved engaging in conversation with you if you are open to it. The Naan bread is great to dip in the dishes with the sauce. Had a great time and would go back. It is within a shopping center, so plenty of free parking. We were told they have a lunch buffet all week, but better on the weekends, I guess for more selections. Thank you for the great night and we will be back.

This is now my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. I had dinner here with a couple of friends on a Saturday, and everything we ordered was amazing. It’s also a BYOB, so that is another plus. I have passed this place many times before but never considered eating here, but one of my friends suggested it, and I am really glad. We were offered complimentary papadums with 3 chutneys, which were all good. We tried a few different naan, with the Peshwari being my favorite. I ordered chicken biriyani, medium, which was a bit too spicy for me, but absolutely delicious. It was full of complex flavors and also generous on chicken, unlike most of the biriyani in other Indian Restaurants that are mostly just turmeric and has 2 pieces of chicken. My friends got a variety of curries and samosas, and everything was flavorful and cooked well. My only complaint is that the raita was a bit too loose, but it was really just a minor detail. Our server was super friendly and helpful — she may have been the owner as well? Everyone else was really friendly too, and they were very diligent about filling our water glasses. The restaurant was pretty filled by the time we left, so I am sure the secret is out that this place has great food. I am really excited to eat here again.

Great Vegetarian Selection. Fresh Fruit. Great Bread(not on buffet, fresh to table). They have dishes on buffet that typical«Indian» restaurants do not have. Nice atmosphere. Clean bathroom. Owners are good people. Great value for the $$$. I go twice a week.

Walked in and not a soul in the restaurant. A little hesitant but though why not. Was feeling adventurous as it was. I thought I would order the veggie sambusa and Lamb Vindaloo. Very good food. I noticed many carry out were cooked throughout my meal as well. Give it a try for a good Indian good experience.

The food was timely and delicious. We ordered a variety of vegetarian options, including their vegetarian appetizer sampler. Their selection of chutneys was exquisite and the portions of the two entrees we ordered were more than enough for three people. Service was courteous and the Bollywood playing in the background was highly entertaining. I’ll definitely be coming back if I’m ever craving Indian food in Norristown. I’d like to check out their lunch buffet!
