We came to the inconveniently located Harlem Irving Plaza(HIP) mall in search of a corning ware specialty store. It turns out that this location is only one of three widely separated Chicagoland locations for such. Once done with that, it became afternoon snack time, and in timely fashion Taco Burrito King appeared in front of us at the food court. We went for their Wednesday daily special of three flautas and a medium size drink for $ 8.29. For the drink, I tried the horchata — an ok(but overly sweet) cinnamon-y vanilla and rice water drink. The specials plate was a pretty good value and quality was in the ok average category. The flautas were crunchy and filled with a chicken/cheese mix. The plate came with lukewarm rice and beans, and a guacamole and sour cream and lettuce mix. I would rate TBK above a Taco Bell. We’ll probably try them again for a soft taco or burrito one day. ps — On visiting HIP, I noted that the lights allow for a surprisingly pretty quick getaway onto busy Harlem from their 2 story parking lot, but like Route 59 traffic in Naperville, Harlem Ave traffic takes a beating for this convenience to the HIP shoppers.

This place is not worth the money. The chicken is overcooked for a tostada, which had no taste. Tacos was greasy. Go someplace, where the cooks where gloves.

If you are interested in good food & watching drunk people this is the place to be at 4 a.m. I can say with confidence that if this restaurant is on the way to your destination then this is one of the tastiest places that you can eat at 4 a.m. You might regret it in the morning when you crap your pants. The prices here are pretty reasonable. For about eight dollars you can get a King size steak burrito. Another favorite or classic that this place offers is the steak & eggs. If you eat your burrito there it comes with a side of rice & beans. This place has been around for years & is the destination spot on the weekends for people who just left the clubs or bars downtown. There are a lot of fights here on the weekend but they do have security & it does provide some what of a show to your late dinner. I will continue to eat here especially late & night. The food here is not just good late at night though, it is good all the time if you are in the mood for some mexican food especially for a burrito.

Al pastor tacos? Excellent! Super nachos? Disgusting! They lopped a ladle of sour cream, guac, diced tomatoes and … yellow goopy cheese on a pile of chips. The cheese was like the kind you get in the Tostitos jar that you heat in the microwave when you’re desperate. I like the gross ballpark or circus nachos better than these. C’mon guys, this is Chicago. Unacceptable.

Big portions, the girl there is nice, 5 cent glass mexican cokes(very suspicious, but then again, the entire mall seems suspicious) Worst TBK ever(as far as taste goes).
