The Garage Burgers and Beer

First time ever: OMG this burger is amazing. I got the Sticky Finger. It has peanut butter, jalapeño relish and bacon on a cheese burger. I also got a side of sweet potato fries. It was so damn good. I would recommend this place to anyone. I even took my kids. They loves the games in the back of the room. The Garage has a fully stocked bar, not to mention a Bingo and Trivia night.
Seriously, it you haven’t tried this place, drop what you are doing and go now. You won’t regret it.

Stopped in for dinner on our way through Norman, and we had a great dining experience all the way around. All of the burgers we tried were juicy and delicious — I had the fried onion burger and loved it. The only negative for me was the garlic parm fries — they were overwhelming to the taste buds, and not in a good way. The sriracha ketchup is fantastic with fries, though!

The burgers that I’ve tried have been great, the parmesan fries however, made me want to puke my guts out. Way too much garlic.

Great tasting burger but very greasy (may be why it tastes so good!) and fries were over salted for my taste. Has a semi-​dive atmosphere and reasonable prices. I’d go back as long as my arteries last!

Best burger I’ve had in a long time, ordered the Angus Beef Fried Onion burger… will definitely be a repeat customer. Good food, fast service! Thank you The Garage Burgers Staff!

This is my default go to burger and beer spot in Norman, OK. The «Big G» with bison or local beef if the best, or mix and match for a pleasant surprise. I go go the Sweet potato fries and ranch dressing! too. With a domestic or a fountain soda it’s under $ 15. A «Big G» is this places version of a gourmet Big Mack… (Yes I sp it wrong, no lawsuits here).
Hal Smith is my least favorite restaurant owning group or owner in the 3 surrounding states, and yes he owns this place, but I turn the other check to his 77 other dumps while enjoying The Garage on Main. They got great nachos, great fish tacos, veggie burgers and really attentive service. I’d give them 5 stars but their not a five star place, and Hal Smith is a slave driver who may actually employ more illegal Guatemalans than any businessman I’ve ever been witness of.
The interior is family friendly but doubles as a place I’d take my 76yr old dad to a place if party all night or just skip in on a Thursday for some neighborhood bingo, drop by for a Thunder Basketball game on on of their many TV’s. All in all 4stars because this place kicks ass.
Oh yea. A Big G is one Onion burger on top of one grilled burger, with many special toppings to choose from or just lettuce, pickle, tomato and special sauce. If your hungry get this. You’ll be more than satisfied. One last mention should be the video games, pinball, ski all and tiny front and rear patio for animal friends and smokers. BTW: Hal Smith didn’t invent or design the Garage it’s another stolen concept of his. This time from his own son… As the story goes. Not as embarrassing as his Hard Rock theft lawsuit, the SAUCED saga, or the Lakeside Grill debacle. This guy steals brands and a after owning 80+ restaurants in 7 states it’s hard to argue with the guy, altho ICE, and or BP may come down on his ass some day for all the undocumented kitchen help. Until then enjoy your Big G!!!

This place was awesome! Great food, large selection of craft beer, and a small arcade room in the back! There’s tvs all around with sports on. Good atmosphere!

Delish! Great burgers … Wish the place was bigger, great family environment. Waitstaff was very attentive and pleasant. Limited parking in front … Use Gray Street and park in the back for more room/​easier for families. Tons of TVs for sports!

One of the Best Burgers I had in a very long time!!! Pineapple Burger was The Best!!!

Many options, however, I’m a simple guy and like a good olé fashioned cheeseburger! These guys do it very well! Fast friendly service! Tasty, juicy, filling burger and the fries are seasoned just right!

This burger bar is an awesome addition to Main Street in Norman. I’ve had a variety of their burgers and fries and they never disappoint. If you are crazy about speciality patties, then look no further. I enjoy the regular beef patty and some fries.

Average burgers. Buns are way too greasy. Fried burgers that are too big. Focus on better quality not quantity. About 10 – 15 better burger joints in the metro,

Amazing Ranch Avocado burger, one of the best. Service was good overall and the drinks kept coming fast. This particular location is really small and cramped so come early if you want good seats. Good thing about waiting in line to order your food is that you can sit down first and order your drinks and bring your drink with you when you’re waiting in line.

I’ve put off going to the Garage for some time now, but finally made the stop… and wish I had gone sooner! The place was crowded, and there was a line to order. We were worried we wouldn’t get a seat, but some opened up just as we finished ordering. I chose the Sticky Fingers (Crunchy Peanut Butter, Bacon and Jalapenos) and it was among the best Burgers I’ve ever had. Not just because of the toppings, but the Patty had a good grilled flavor, and was a little crispy on the ends, but still meaty. The toppings blended beautifully and the Bun held up to the last bite. I also ordered Parmesan Garlic Fries — which are not for the casual Garlic fan! There were loads of Minced Garlic on these Fries, so maybe not for a first date. If anything, the Fries lacked a little salt, but that was my only criticism. This is now a Norman favorite.

The Garage has a really cool atmosphere and set up. You actually order at the counter instead of at your table and you refill your own drinks. They don’t have any meal combos, so you pay for the burger, fries, and your drink separately.
It wasn’t particularly busy when I went, it was finals week, but I hear it can get pretty crowded. I got just the cheeseburger and the boyfriend got the Bacon Avocado burger. We also ordered the chili cheese fries per suggestion of the cashier. Everything was good. The chili cheese fries didn’t knock me out of my chair but the bacon avocado burger sure made the boyfriend happy. Register man was nice, waitress wasn’t personable but I wasn’t expecting much.
In short, it’s a good place if you want a burger but don’t expect your mind to be all over the floor like other reviewers have said.

Stopped here otw back to Texas from Kansas. Was everything you’d ever want in a burger. Got a bison burger with bacon and cheese, fries and a couple shiners. Also tried the fire & ice shot. Awesome! Found a new favorite and now have my neighborhood bars here making them. Will stop again!

I am constantly in search of the best burger while travelling and I’m most certain that I’ve found it in Norman!
I love that they have buffalo as a protein option. They have a large selection of burgers, however I picked the cheeseburger with Buffalo (and added bacon of course!)
The chili cheese dog is also worth trying if you aren’t in the mood for a burger.
I highly recommend this place!

This place has the best burgers in town. I love the fries and sweet potato fries. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. It’s great for lunch or an evening out with friends. They have games to occupy the kids in the back and they have several tv’s showing several different shows. They always have on some kind of sports and old movies.

This is my go to burger joint now. They have protein options: beef, turkey, smoked turkey, garden, and bison. I’ve only had the beef and turkey, and both are great. The burgers are a bit on the greasy side, but everything is so fresh and delicious! The fries are inconsistent. Somethings they are dripping with grease, sometimes they are burnt, sometimes cold, over salted, etc. Their burgers are sometime inconsistent too. Sometimes they leave the ribs and seeds on the jalapeño slices, providing a fiery burger, other times they don’t, which leaves you with no heat. If it was more consistent, it would get 5 stars.
The atmosphere is really cool. They always have an iconic or hit movie from the 70’s to early 90’s on one of the TVs (The Princess Bride, Top Gun, Star Wars, etc.). Other TVs have a variety of sports. Sound is not on, so you get to enjoy their music, which is a nice hodge podge of classic rock, grunge, and rock. If you’re in your 30’s or 40’s, you’re most likely to enjoy the atmosphere! Most of the restaurant is a bar with small bar tables. A small section has a few booths.
Please read the signs, be courteous, and order before taking a seat. Too often I see people grabbing seats before they order, then there is nowhere for someone who has just ordered to sit. They keep track of seating at the counter, and can tell you whether there is an open table when you order. However, if you sit before you order, this gets all messed up. So please, please, please, order and then sit.

Sweet mother of exploding taste buds, this place makes a good burger! The beef is CLEARLY ground on site.
Our band played at a nearby bar, and they were getting ready to shut the kitchen down early (July 4^th), but the cooks were nice enough to whip our orders up for us.
The place was very clean, and modern, without being bland.

Known as a burger place but they have so much more! Great tacos, apps and my recent order of the avocado melt. While recently going vegetarian for lent I thought I may have to pass on ordering something but the avocado melt was perfect. Essentially a grilled cheese heavy on the avocado! This may be my regular order from now on.
You order at the counter then get a number and find a place to sit. I love this kind of service. When I get to a restaurant i’m usually ready to eat so this takes out all the waisted time of being seated, ordering drinks and then finally getting around to the food.
