Carry out Mediterranean with good portions and adicting blend of spices. My wife is particularly fond of the garlic sauce and the baklava is the best I’ve ever eaten. I recommend the beef shawarma sandwich… my month’s watering just thinking about it. If you’re looking for the typical mass produced pressed beef/lamb gryo, Sisters is not for you; but if you’re looking for an authentic taste of the Mediterranean, go to the Sisters.

One word, addicting! We work the down the street from Sisters and can’t help getting it at least 1x a week. It’s very delicious without feeling overly greasy. It’s refreshing! We love the chicken shawarma, the mayo garlic sauce is one of those that we wouldn’t mind adding to everything we ate. That good. The homemade hummus is lovely, you can taste the freshness. The best part is if you call it in, it’s ready in 10 minutes. Very short wait for such a short staffed, local and tiny location. Definitely worth trying.

Love this place! I go to this take out place more than anywhere else. Their falafel & beef gyro are my favorite. Be aware they are heavy on mint though if you don’t like mint. Only thing I’m not a fan of is their hummus — it’s really bland. Really nice women, just call ahead, and it will be ready by the time you get there definitely. Don’t be alarmed by it being next it a gas station, the food is excellent & far above my initial expectations.

I’ve eaten at a lot of Mediterranean places, and I would never come back to Sisters. I ordered the #7, beef with hummus and pita, tabouleh, and«our sauce». I verified that the sauce was tzatziki with(assuming here) one of the sisters, and she asked if I like it. I said yes and she smiled. She was very sweet. However, when I got home and opened my take out, I was displeased. The beef was completely chopped and seasoned with some sort of rosemary seasoning. It didn’t taste rich and hearty like Mediterranean beef usually does. The sauce was bland and had a stale smell and taste. I have never tasted sauce as boring as this. It was brown in color– clearly not tzatziki. The hummus was also bland along with the pita and tabouleh. Overpriced, under-impressed.

Norman is blessed to have some great Mediterranean food close to campus. This is a terrific, reasonably priced take out place next to the 7 – 11 on the corner of Chautauqua and Imhoff. I love the beef kafta and the chicken shawarma. The service is always great and the sisters are delightful. Highly recommended.

Gross. I ordered chicken and received 4 hamburger patties. What? I will never order from them again. What is a Mediterranean restaurant doing with hamburger patties anyway? I threw them away. P. S. I was stuck in a hotel and starving… in Norman OK. The Mediterranean restaurant I usually order from(which is pretty good) Shawarma Vite, was not taking orders. Perhaps I should have taken a clue from that.

Definitely some authentic Mediterranean. The shwarma is very good, and you get a lot. The service can be a little slow, so I recommend calling it in ahead. And there’s just window seating, so I usually do take out.

I never leave negative reviews. In fact, I never make reviews, I just let my return business speak for itself. This deserves an exception. Decided to try Sisters instead of Shawarma Vite on Order Up tonight and will never make that mistake again. Smallest, coldest«gyro» I’ve ever had. Tasted like boiled hamburger with an odd tasting garlic sauce. A side of pita and hummus? No. ½ of a dry, cold seriously compressed pita with decent hummus. Saved the hummus, I’ll make my own pita for dinner. The rest is in the trash. Can’t believe I paid for this. I’ll just pretend it’s my penance to the football gods to secure an OU win against Baylor.

Cool little place next-door to 7-Eleven on South Chautauqua, just north of Highway 9. Primarily a carry out place but they do have a couple tables inside. Similar to other Greek/mediterranean restaurants that have the American/Oklahoma flair. Gyros, Kafta, Greek salads etc. Fast and cheap!

My son and I went to Sisters on a Friday. It opens at 11, and we arrived around 11:20 or so. While we were waiting at least 4 other people/groups came in to get to go orders. So, good sign there that they were this brisk and it wasn’t even noon yet. Additionally, it smells fantastic in this joint, seriously. I could just sit there all day and be very happy. I went with the combo #7, beef shawarma. This comes with a small container of tabouli, hummus, pita bread, fries, sauce, and a drink(no fountain, it’s cans for soft drinks and bottles of water) for around $ 12. It may seem high for a lunch near campus, but it is a LOT of food. The beef is seasoned very well and cooked when you order. It was every hot when I opened the lid to the container, even after the drive home. I liked it, as did my 5 year old son. So, bonus points anytime I can find a place that he likes as well. The hummus could have some more garlic in it for my tastes, but it was a solid version of this dish. Likewise, the sauce lacked a bit in the flavor department, but I am nitpicking here. The pita bread had a slight crust which gave it a little crunch on the outside, which I love. The fries were standard with no seasoning. They’re on the thicker side, which is not my preference. You’ve likely seen fries like this a hundred times at various joints. The sisters were both very friendly and helpful. I probably waited 10 minutes for our order, but that was fine with me as it was being prepared fresh. Also, be advised there are only 4 or so bar stools in the place, and no public restroom. So, in my estimation this is a strictly take out joint. In summation, great classic Greek food served fresh and by friendly people. I’ll return.

I have been eating at Sisters Mediterranean Taste for over a year now and have loved everything I have ever ordered. The restaurant is tucked away next to a gas station and beside a Sonic, south of OU’s main campus. The food is made fresh and an order is typically ready about 10 – 15 minutes after placed. The gyros(shwarmas) are amazing — perfect toasted pita with chicken or beef and lovely mayo garlic sauce. The tabouli is also excellent, as is the baklava. Great food at great prices. And the sisters, who are the owners, themselves are very sweet and kind. Definitely one of the top 5 places to eat in Norman, OK!

Ordered this for the first time today since its been open quite a while now. If you want Mediterranean/Greek food stick to the Greek house I wasn’t impressed with the chicken and even less impressed with their beef. The hummus was ok but average and same goes for their fries. On the higher end on the price for what you get too.

I order the Kafta mix combo with a couple of falafel pieces. Everything was fresh and homemade unlike the other restaurants that just serve store bought gyro. This place is one the best Mediterranean/Greek restaurants that I have been to in Norman. Keep on cooking!

Let’s start with, I have no pictures of my food, because it smelled so delicious, I devoured it immediately. I went by this place many times, but never stopped. Thankfully, today I did. Sisters is owned by, sisters. And they are also your cooks. And your order put-together-er. And your cashier. It’s just a whole bunch of sister love and food and teamwork up in there. I tried the chicken shawarma, and made it a combo, with hummus, pita, and a can of Coke. Under $ 10, so I say it’s a deal. And I am telling the truth, because you are getting a steal. Not even a deal. A steal. This is real Mediterranean food made by lovely ladies who learned from the best, their mom.(I read the newspaper article on the wall while I waited.) The chicken was chicken. Not weird parts of chicken that you’re wondering what it is while you eat it. Chicken. And there’s mint. A good solid amount of mint. Possibly some saffron, or cumin. but I’ll have to get back to you on that. And their sauce is not a tzatziki kind of thing, but their own special family thing. And the«pickles»!! It’s not really pickles. but I don’t know what the vegetable is that’s pickled, which they sprinkle around like briny fairy dust. The«pickles» are the big boom when you go to see fireworks, and there’s all the pretty ones, and then«BOOM!», flash of light. It’s like that, but in a good way. The pita is real pita. Not a big bread-y weird pita. A delicious, just the right thickness, chewy pita. Mmmmmmm. And a couple fries thrown in because you deserve it. Amazing. And they make it right in front of you! So if you don’t want to wait for your food to be freshly made, call it in, and pick it up. Easy peasy! Or wait. The ladies are nice, and there are lots of Shape and More magazines to read while you wait. The hummus is their own as well. Equally delicious. And you get half a pita to go with it. The rest should be liberally smeared on each bite of your sandwich of choice because that’s how a real grown up eats it. Flavorful and light, and worth the extra $ 2. In conclusion, please go to this wonderful, delicious, tiny, friendly place. The food is fresh, and won’t make you feel sleepy and unable to work the rest of the day. You, and your taste buds, and your wallet will be pleased with the outcome. I plan on taking my sister here very soon! Enjoy!

I recently moved to Norman and have found my new favorite restaurant! The Kafta is the best and I would recommend getting it with a side of hummus and pita bread. If you have a small budget but want quality food try this place. It’s take out only but there are a couple of bar chairs at a small table to sit at if you want to eat there. The sisters are very nice and are always happy to see people and you can see them make your food right behind the counter.

Good little mediterranean place in the space formerly home to Meme’s Pizza next to 7 – 11. I have only tried the gyro so far, but it was excellent! Will definitely be going back.

I love this little joint. The ladies behind the counter are so nice, and the food is great! It took about ten minutes for my order to be ready, but it was all freshly made. I had the Kafta beef sandwich, an order of hummus, and the baklava. The Kafta sandwich had an amazing sauce on it, and although it’s similar to a gyro in construction, it tastes very different. It is also the perfect car food, wrapped up kind of like a burrito. The hummus was super fresh, and the garlic level was not overwhelming. More pita would have been nice as it was devoured quickly by my husband. Probably the best baklava I’ve ever had, and it was rolled instead of cut into triangles. Very flaky and not overly sweet. I will definitely be back!

The Kafta Beef Sandwich was amazing! One try and I’m declaring this as one of my favorite Norman eateries! The sandwich was delicious, flavorful, and filling. I opted for the jalapeños peppers which were pickled and not very hot, but added nicely to the sandwich. The side hummus was very good and came with half a piece of toasted pita bread(next time I’m ordering an extra piece of bread). Prices are very reasonable(see photo of menu). I’m tempted to try the chicken, but the beef is so good it may have to wait. I will very definitely be back for more! The sign by the door says take out only, but there are about 5 stools in front of a counter one could eat at if needed. They do have a drive-through window.
