Lu’s Alterations

Great service. I took a dressy jumpsuit in to be hemmed and added a few snaps and sewed up the back where it dipped too low. I got my outfit back in two days. Prices seem fair. Overall, very happy.

Lu’s does an incredible job. I’ve taken in pants, bridesmaids dresses, wedding dress, shirts with holes and t-​shirts that were too big. You can never see where the alterations/​patches are. Fast and affordable!

A great little shop! I’ve been taking my clothes here for several years now. Lu has helped me with coats, dresses and pants. She always makes me go into the dressing room and try on my clothes that need to be altered before she agrees to the job — even if I already know I just want two inches hemmed up. She pays attention to what I say and asks relevant questions– like if I’ll ever wear heals with the pants in question (no). Every item that I’ve picked up from Lu has been perfect!
Although this place is great, I HAVE been turned down before because my vintage find thrift store coat was WAY TOO BIG and she didn’t feel like she could make it look right. I appreciate the honesty though and I know Lu takes a lot of pride in her work and she wouldn’t want to do a job poorly.
The location is great — right on Lindsey Street. My clothes are always finished quickly and Lu is super friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.
