Absolutely love this place. Their DVD selection is awesome and they always have great deals going. Their book selection is pretty decent and so is their music section. The staff is always super friendly and will help you find anything. I love that you can find games, tv’s, dvds, music, musical instruments, its basically an all in one store and I love going in there to explore.

Food: 5⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Cleanliness: 5⁄5 Décor & Style: 5⁄5 A very odd place. Has DVD rentals, games, nice café(good selection of coffee and teas), and a variety of random things you can buy, including toys, exercise equipment, clothes, comics, music, and plenty of books! I didn’t think places like these exist anymore, but what a great place to shop for entertainment. It’s not very crowded so the café would be a nice place to relax or study. In addition, the place has good décor, relaxation ambience, and is very clean!

This is easily my favorite store anywhere. Great selection of DVDs, which is my biggest love. My wife loves their book selection, which is huge. My son loves the toys and video games, of which there is also a great selection. The comic section is also great. The one downfall is that everything costs too much new. However, their used selection is amazing and they always have buy one get one or two specials. That is what I spend the most money on. If you only buy new, they have a great selection but the prices are too high outside of special sales. I don’t care whether it is new or used, so this is the perfect store for me.

One of my favorite spots to visit while in Norman. Not only do they offer a wide array of merchandise ranging from vinyl to comic books, there is also a great selection of books to scour through. Walking out of Hastings empty handed is next to impossible. I only wish the staff would roam the store more often for shoppers needing help, but you can usually find help at the customer service desk.

I think the other reviewers have done an excellent job at describing the lovely bombardment of items and sections in Hastings(yes, Don. W. awesome). They have a sweet little café with tables and chairs in the corner of the store, good teas and other things. It is a decent place to study or meet with your professors being somewhat close to the OU campus. They have good hours(until 11pm every night), which is helpful.

A very good mix of all things pop culture — books, magazines, action figures, collectibles, movies, music… they have it all. My kids love to come here and pick out a new book and check out the comics. We come here often.

I know a few key people at the corporate office of Hastings and knew what I was expecting. It’s def a hodgepodge of pop culture stuff. You can buy collector’s items, posters, E-readers, books, movies, games, CDS. It’s Blockbuster on crack and Barnes & Noble on tweak! Doctor Who or Breaking Bad? Hello Kitty or Angry Birds? This place has it all! Since moving to Norman, I visit every so often to rent a movie. We got free rental coupons when we joined the rental club. I have to say that I HATE the way they organize the cheaper DVD rentals. It’s difficult thumbing through the DVD spines sideways to read all of the titles. If RedBox is out of what I want, Hastings is my second choice, ’nuff said.

Some Hastings are hit and miss. Some stores are definitely better than others, that is for sure. This one had a good set up. They had good comic, music and action figures sections here. I didn’t find anything I wanted but overall I approve!

Great prices on movie rentals and books. They have movies for sale, music and board games too. But the best part is the free wifi in their café that serves the absolute best vanilla chai lattes on earth.

Great entertainment hub. Hastings is pretty much like a Barnes & Noble, a Blockbuster, and a Hot Topic all rolled into one giant dome of awesomeness. Likes: This place has just about everything. Great for dorks, with tremendous selection of toys, accessories, magnets, clothing, etc. for everything from Nightmare on Elm Street to Battlestar Gallactica. There’s also an enormous selection of movies both for rent and for purchase, as well as a giant volume of music. That’s not even to mention the fact that half the store is dedicated to books! Dislikes: One time the Yukon store had a sale item that I was looking for, and after speaking with management, there was really nothing I could do to get it besides driving to Yukon. Oh well, no biggee. Frankly, it wouldn’t break my heart if Hastings was the only rental/book/music/movie store in Norman. Oh wait, it pretty much is.

Love the amount of different options are available at Hastings, but thought it was strange that after I bought a CD there I found a Walmart sticker underneath the Hastings sticker on the CD wrapper. Do they just go buy CD’s from Walmart and then raise the price?

I’ve lived in a few different cities and towns but I had never experienced hastings before. It combines the best of many things into one. I’ve been here more times since I moved to Norman than anywhere else. I’ve also found some stuff in their used CD section that I had been searching for for a long time. Its like someone took Blockbuster, Gamestop, Borders, a used music store, and spencers and crammed it all into one. You can get lost in the aisles here for quite a while. Great stuff.

There is no better place in Norman to buy or rent movies. I could end the review there, but I like to talk. The used CD and book sections aren’t too shabby, although if that’s all you’re shopping for I’d go to Guestroom or Borders before Hastings. I love that they have a huge music performance DVD section, and they’ll locate or special order just about anything for you if you ask. One gripe: the documentaries really, really deserve their own section. Piling them with other random stuff under«Special Interest» doesn’t cut it. And a point of confusion: why would you add a department to sell sub-par musical instruments when you’re next door to Brook Mays?
